We have a 16 year old female cat. She's been a outdoor cat most of her life. She recently started walking on 3 legs. We took her to the vet and they said she has artheritce. They gave us staroids and said that if her quility of life does not inprove we should put her down. Well the staroids did NOTHING!! Then we found the Cosequin!!! SHE NOW WALKS ON ALL 4 LEGS AND EVEN RUNS UP AND DOWN THE CELLAR STEPS. We saw inprovement after only 3 days!! We only give 1 Cosequin a day. We mix the powder (only) from the capsule in a teaspoon of can food and she really loves it. Then we give her the rest of the can. No trouble with her eating it at all, and I really don't like having to use a pill shooter on animals, so this is ideal!!! This is a life saving product for us!! We have a 12 year old beagle mix that has been having leg problems for the same reason. We will be starting him on Cosequin as soon as it arives!! He has been on Move Free (glucosamine) for 2 years and gets around ok, but stil has trouble. Check the dog Cosequin for my review there around the middle of feburary 2010

My 14 year old cat was playing yesterday morning after taking the cosequin for about a week and a half. Her bones make a little pop from time to time. It was recommended to me by my vet and I found it here for a good price. I hope it continues to improve her quality of life.

My young cat was recently diagnosed with bladder stones and had surgery to remove them. My veterinarian recommended feeding her Cosequin for Cats, as there is solid scientific evidence that Cosequin alleviates irritation in the bladder and urinary tissues. It won't dissolve bladder stones, of course, but it offers support and helps the body heal - so why not try it!

My 12 year old cat was getting a bit stiff in the hindquarters, and she would hiss whenever getting petted on her back half. I thought she might be sore, so I started her on Cosequin. Within a week she was spry again and ok with petting all over! I'm so glad this was available for cats. I just mix it with her wet food and she eats it right up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After speaking to my vet I decided to try this on my 15, 16 and 17 year old Siamese's. My vet thought it was a great idea and as he said "It sure can't hurt". Its easy to give the 2 oldest boys since it sprinkles into the wet food. The girl is another story, She has never eaten wet food and she is the one I really wanted to have it as she has bladder issues. I tried moistening the dry and she thought I had lost my mind. The boys don't notice it mixed into the food at all. My vet said it can take 3-5 months to really notice any difference. Cosequin has been used forever and is safe which I like, too many drugs out that we just don't know enough about.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am reviewing Nutramax Cosequin Capsules Joint Health Cat Supplement, 80 Sprinkle Capsules. I received this product for free in exchange for my unbiased opinion of it. I selected this product because my daughter's cat is getting up in years, and we had been concerned with her moving slower, and looking like she was not as agile as she has always been, as if her joints ached. She was also having some occassional urinary problems. The bottle contains 80 sprinkle containing capsules. We buy the cat canned food as a treat, but her basic diet is dry food. My daughter opens the capsules and sprinkles on the cat's food when given canned, and the cat does not turn her nose up to it. When feeding dry food, she gives it a capsule like any other pill. The capsule is small enough that the cat does not mind swallowing it. So far, I have not seen the cat acting like she is stiff, and is her old loving self. I have also not seen her having litter box problems with her bladder. So far, like this product, and wish we had tried it sooner.

My veterinarian recommended I put my 1 year-old cat on this product beacause of idiopathic urinary tract disease, since it has been shown to relax the muscles in the urinary tract. I just open the capsule and top dress his food with it. He eats it right up! Plus, by using cosequin, I have the added benefit of my cat having healthy joints!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My review may not be fair but I am at a loss as to what to do. I have four senior cats, one of whom is overweight. She has shown signs of difficulty engaging in activities that she used to do with ease. Maybe it's the diet she's fed, preferring kibble to the moist food she gets every day, but I cannot seem to get any of my cats to consume the tablet. I've sprinkled it on wet and she, along with the others, refuse it. So, I tried putting it in a pill pocket for the heavier cat but she won't eat that either. I don't know if this is fair, but I am unable to give a positive review after my inability to deliver the product to my pet(s).

Our barn cat is 15 years old. This past winter, we noticed a definite decrease in his activity level and he no longer wanted to be picked up. I tried Cosequin for Cats in capsule form just to see if it would make him more comfortable. I was not looking forward to giving him pills due to our previous experiences with that task. I was pleased to learn that the capsules could be taken apart and the medicine sprinkled on food. We use a separate small bowl containing dry food, sprinkle on the medicine and add a little bit of water just to make it stick to the food and stir. The whole time the prep is happening, Blackie is right there under my feet telling me to hurry up. The other cats wish he would share. After a couple of weeks, we noticed improvement and now it's not uncommon to see him outside during the day again.

My "stray" male cat, Fang, has been hanging out w/my horses 14 yrs. 3 mos ago he appeared barely able to walk. The LF & LR legs appear crushed/broken. I had little hope for his survival, but after putting him on Cosequin for Cats I began to see amazing results in a few days. Honestly! He will never walk right again, but is now able to get around. I am in awe of this product.
