Defective Unit – Needs Replacement

This 2,550W dual fuel generator stopped working after just a few uses. Won't start on propane or gas, recoil is stuck, and it makes a loud rattling noise. Smells like fuel and feels unsafe to run. Clearly defective. I need a replacement unit ASAP—this one isn't usable and shouldn't have to be returned in this condition.

Powers Dometic Air Conditioner with MicroAir 364

Easily powered my 13500 BTU Dometic Air Conditioner after installing a MicroAir 364 easy-start circuit in the generator's normal mode. Although, the generator would not start the Air Conditioner in the Efficiency mode. The iGen2500 with the MicroAir is a less costly, more convenient, and much lighter solution than paralleling two 2000 watt inverter generators to run the Air Conditioner. The iGen2500 display indicates about 1600 to 1800 watts when the Air Conditioner is running. The generator's Efficiency Mode is relatively quiet at no load; although at full power, the noise is in the 70+ dbA range at 1 meter. The generator's engine has a small misfire or small backfire when running, but the small misfire/backfire does not seem to effect electrical power output. I use non-ethanol premium gas having a minimum 92 octane rating. Also, the generator runs my electric Stihl chainsaw even in the efficiency mode.

Very good value

Did extensive research on small portable generators. The iGen 2500 stood out as a very reliable model which should take care of my needs during a power outage. The generator appears to be well built, compact and light weight. The unit started on the second pull and is everything I expected. I look forward to using it the next time we loose power.

Great Backup

After many hurricane seasons without a back up Generator, I decided to purchase this one ahead of this year's season. I was able to send it to family in the mountains of North Carolina who were impacted by Helene, and it worked great for them. Easy to use and reliable, exactly what I'm looking for in a backup generator. I look forward to using it for camping as well.

Excellent purchase to keep my electronics up and running

Watched many videos and reviews on this inverter before purchasing but still couldn't imagine how quiet it was until I first used it. It is very easy to move around and start by yourself. The display for fuel level, output wattage, time remaining, and running voltage is why I decided on this one vs the next model cheaper. It is easy to see from a distance without going outside to check the fuel. I bought this for running my sensitive electronics while my larger generator powers the rest of my house. I look at it this way, this inverter generator is cheaper than buying a new smart tv that could break due to using dirty, unfiltered, unregulated power coming from a conventional generator.

Ordered as best choice after much research

Followed instructions to set it up, and it started on the first pull. Quiet! Stable output. It's great on the first day. And from a comment elsewhere, I did check the float bowl screw to be sure it was closed before first startup (it was). Other reviews are very positive, price is competitive. Remaining is only to judge it's performance over time, which is positive in other reviews.

GREAT RV GENERATOR

LOVE IT...LOVE IT... LOVE IT!!! We purchased a new 5th wheel a year ago and had one chance to use the iGen2500 before the end of the season here in MI. It worked flawlessly! I bought two of these as we have 2 A/C units and although good for a single 15K unit, two is just too much for it. I intend on connecting them in parallel for a whopping 5K watts of juice! Gotta love it!!!

highly impressed with its initial quality

I just received my Westinghouse generator, and I'm highly impressed with its initial quality and overall feel. The dual-fuel option is a fantastic feature, providing added flexibility. After following the initial setup, the unit started right up and ran surprisingly quietly. So far, I'm extremely satisfied and impressed with its performance!

Great combo of price and performance

Got this for a gift for my FIL, who lives with us, and helped him set it up and test it. He had a few requests when we were shopping, the main ones were enough power to keep the fridge on in an emergency, and dual fuel. Also he's on a budget. Set up was easy, the included tools are appreciated- all you need is fuel (and a tank if using LPG.) It started up with little effort (although he'll need some help, almost certainly, and if budget were not an issue in hindsight a key start would be clutch for seniors like him.) We ran it with no load to break it in for about 30 minutes (the extent of his patience lol) and then plugged the fridge in to test it. The iGen2550 barely changed its tune under load, I feel like we could get away with a couple other electronic creature comforts in an emergency, which is nice. His thoughts on it were few, mostly a lot of head nodding in approval and why propane was better than gas, and, of course, the price of gas. Love him. He did say he thought the sound level was "in between Honda and Briggs & Stratton" which is a pretty good compliment considering the savings over a Honda putt-putt. It's not, like, a joy to carry far, but it's easily a one man job. Feet are super stable and absorb the vast majority of the already minor vibration. There's a pad on top for setting your devices you're charging and I absolutely trust they won't vibrate off. All in all no complaints, super happy with the preparedness this brings us. Only small criticism so far is the funnel. I get it, its a great tool, but I just know I'm going to misplace it or forget what it is lol.

Amazing generator

Bought this with never having heard of the brand but couldn't be happier. Took it on a 8 day road trip through some nation parks and it started every single time with the first pull! It is quiet enough that I don't hear it when inside my cabover too. Only issue is the fuel shut off doesn't actually stop the fuel because it will keep running but it doesn't bother me.
