Quick setup and easy to use.

I purchased this generator in the event of losing power and needing something to run my sump pump off of. I was able to quickly this get unpackaged, follow directions to start and get what I needed to hooked up quickly. Very straight forward use, runs well and easy to handle.

Affordability that packs a punch

Packs a good punch for a lightweight and affordable generator. After trying other generators, this one gets it done for me. It's the perfect accessory for power outages when trying to run small appliances.

HONDA Customer for years... buys Westinghouse!

We found the iGen 2550 a great match for our 16ft camper and a better choice than the small Honda generator I was going to buy. With a direct 3prong 30amp connection to the camper (Honda didn't have that!) easy pull starting and LED digital data display altogether make this Westinghouse generator the perfect fit for our camping needs!

Great generator for our RV

I bought this generator to replace another brand that crapped out on me before our snowbird trip. I set it up at our first campground in Texas, in case we needed it before the cold weather hit. The setup was very easy, and it started on the 2nd pull. This is my 2nd Westinghouse generator. I am very happy with their products.

Good unit to Ice Castle fish house

Nice size generator. Very quite with light load, but larger than expected with load. Nice data, but prefer readout in gallons. Like the 30amp plug, but need more than 1 to get full 30 amps.

Strange manufacturing

Problem out of the box

I bought this generator brand new. I took it out of the box the night before an ice storm to prepare it for operation. I filled the gas tank. When I woke up in the morning the gas had all drained out from a problem of poor manufacturing at the assembly. There should be better quality control. Hopefully they will make this right and fix the problem at no cost to me.

Miserable experience and 2 days wasted so far

I wanted to run with propane, but tried many times and with two tanks, reconnecting, choke, no choke it wouldn't start. Gas didn't seem to be coming out of the regulator. So next I tried with gas and it ran easily. Except it stops. Usually after 15 minutes to 4 hours. I've now spent about 2 days and 2 tanks of gas. First it seemed to stop only with eco. Then normal mode stopped. I tried running with a loose cap to make sure there wasn't a vacuum problem, etc. Sometimes the low oil light came on and the unit quit right away. The tech advised that too much oil could also be a problem and it took about 4 tries and 3 spills to get the oil level which rested right in the middle of the dip stick. Ran great for 3 hours then ... I'm on hold with service right now seeing if I can get an exchange or repair. Unfortunately I bought on line so return is not an option. I have a 10k westinghouse than ran my whole house for 7 days after a bad storm here. I was hoping for better.

I'm so disappointed

I bought this to use when camping in areas without power -remote backcountry areas. Like many others I was attracted to this unit because of its dual fuel capabilities and affordable price point. From the get-go, it has been nothing but problems trying to get this unit running consistently. Wondering whether I will get it started each time (and whether it will run properly) gives me severe anxiety. I need this unit to be reliable. When this is your only source of power, your lifeline in the backcountry or during a power outage, this is unacceptable. Each time I run this I have to play with the choke, play with the propane, turn the unit on and off again, and struggle until I nearly wrench my back. I have changed the oil, spark plug, air filter …and taken all of the recommended steps for troubleshooting. I think I will be selling this to someone who wants to dissect it and purchase something better…which at this point would be anything that actually works. I thought Westinghouse was a great brand based on reviews, but I should've focused more on the problematic ones, of which there are many. Buy once, cry once.
