- 5 out of 5 stars review5/25/2018I really wanted the igen4500 but that unit has been on backorder everywhere for a very long time. With hurricane season a week away I didn't want to take a chance so I ordered the igen2500, which was my second choice. Upon unboxing I gave it a thorough going over. The unit appeared to be in great condition with only 1 minor scratch. When I showed the wife she couldn't even find the scratch. Alls good! I followed the very clear pre startup instructions and was ready to start it up within 5 min. It started on the first pulled. I let it run for 20 min with no load than added a 240 watt load and let it run. After 10hrs 14min it finally ran out of gas. I found the unit to be louder than I expecting. More on that later. Day 2. I wanted to run ano...
Highly recommend
Florida MikeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review7/31/2024I bought it for Camping to charge the boat after day of trolling. Got it delivered late had o postpone trip. Started unit after 60 pulls on Propane. I began a 3hr break in in 92 degree weather. It never shut down me and ran great. Have to have full choke on to start. Unit looks sweet to.
Its alright

Arrived without damage and setting up has been easy. Comes with everything you need except gas. Eco mode is very helpful at night so it will run the majority of the night! Looking forward to more trips with this
Clean unit, Easy Operation, Eco mode is great!
HoneyGuy101Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/31/2020This is just perfect for our camper. We can use the microwave and safely charge our smartphones and laptops. Quiet was a big influence with which generator to buy. This was quieter than many of the other leading brands and it supports the wattage it claims without hassle. Not heavy to carry around either. Less than 50 pounds!
Quiet and great quality!
Liza12068Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/23/2024I purchased this 3 days ago after much research and my budget considerations. I purchased it for emergency situations only as a "just in case". After testing with some lights and power tools, I am confident it will operate exactly as expected for what I need.
Just purchased but I have high hopes
bd145rOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review12/13/2017We bought this after hurricane Irma. For years and years I had resisted getting a generator due to the "in your face" statement of externalized costs that it represents for one's neighbors. "Those things are so loud and smelly," I thought. Not so with the iGen. It is quiet and its inverter operation means it's energy consumption is proportional to the current being drawn.
The size of a gas can, the power of an RV
@edburnsOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/23/2025I got this to back up my fridge and freezer during power outages. After the first 5 hours of break in, it's running well so far. Starting on propane is pretty easy, and took about 4 pulls, not to different from my lawn mower. Noise level is pretty good too, not silent, but not anything to bother me. Eco mode is noticeably quieter. Unboxing was great. Everything is included, even the oil and a funnel. So far everything is meeting my expectations.
Good small generator
Mark_47Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/13/2018The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I put in the included oil and put about a quart of gas into the tank. The generator started on the fourth pull and settled down into a smooth rhythm within a minute or so, after adjusting the on/choke knob. For the initial test run, I didn't run anything with high amps and only connected a large floor fan, which ran perfectly. The generator ran for over two and a half hours on the quart of gas, and I let it run down completely to avoid any residue which might affect later starts. I measured the decibel volume between 44 dB to 58 dB, measuring from 25 feet away to an inch or two away, and in both eco mode and regular run mode. The generator is very quiet and can only be heard faintly in the hou...
Easy to set up
TerryOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/29/2023We bought this iGen2550c Generator not knowing what to expect because of other brands in the past but after getting home and starting it up We knew we made the "RIGHT DECISION" this darn thing is so quiet you can literally be standing over the top of it having a normal conversation with yelling it's Amazing. The Power it puts out is more than enough for what we need. We found the right fit to are needs. "THANKS AGINE WESTINGHOUSE WELL BE BACK"
We love how it lights up at night in the front
rightyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/18/2018After much research I found this Westinghouse igen 2500 to be the best overall inverter generator for use at home during occassional power outages. Adequate to run my large refrigerator/freezer, tv, fans, computer, cell phone, coffee maker with power to spare. Very quiet, efficient and lightweight with good warranty from a great American Company, i.e. Westinghouse.. Great price too from AP Electric & Generators, WI
Excellent Portable generator for home use
ROBOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/4/2023Received iGen2550DFc yesterday. Well packaged and everything in good order. Started on propane and gasoline without difficulty. Runs smoothly under load. But, this is a replacement unit, the first I purchased was an iGen2550c that would not start. Calling the help number twice did not get me any help. I was advised that a response would take 24 to 48 hours, so back to the seller it went. If the first unit had worked i would have given 5 stars. Only feature I would like to see is a gasoline shut off valve so i can run the carburetor dry before moving or storing. An hour meter would be handy to know when maintenance is due.
Easy start, quiet
jhthorntOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review5/13/2024After re-attaching the throttle cable that somehow came loose during the bumpy ride to the campsite, the unit started up and remained on throughout the duration of the day. It ran flawlessly. The noise level at first seemed higher than expected, but that's due to being next to the unit. Once it's placed in a designated area and you go about your other tasks you hardly notice that it's on.
Ran for 12+ hours continuously without any issues
Eastlake-OverlandersOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/22/2024This is an excellent generator! Lightweight, compact, and very quiet. I use mostly for tailgating. Its small size is perfect that takes up minimal space in our suv. I wish I had purchased it sooner. The shoe is in the picture to show how compact the generator is.
Awesome gerator
OcoboOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/29/2024I already own a 4500watt Westinghouse generator and have had good luck with it. It arrived in good shape and was easy to set up. My only issue was I could not start it on propane after many attempts. I wanted to use just propane and not gasoline. I ended up starting it on gas then switching to propane and everything was fine. Runs very quietly.
Great generator for the price
Louie27Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/28/2018What a solid generator. Setup was easy, started up on second pull and purrs like a kitten. Just broke it in with a tank of gas and added fresh oil, it's now on standby. (P.S) there out of the free generator cover your suppose to get after leaving a review, now you just get a power strip ( woo hoo). I need a cover man...
2500 CAMO (Awesome)
S.L.Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/2/2023I bought this after storms took out the power knew it was going to be a few days, the price was lower than some other generators but this has proven to be great. Runs 10-14 hours on 1 tank of fuel. The oil levels must be kept right or it won't start or will shut off after a few minyes. The perfect amount of oil is almost 3/4 of the included amount, it doesn't say that anywhere but it needs to.
Great Mini Generator
StormyuserOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/10/2018The iGen 2500 will power either one of our camper's 15000 BTU air conditioner units just fine. I had to make sure that all of the electrical loads were switched off otherwise it wouldn't start them reliably. I installed an Easy-Start in one of the units and now it'll start it effortlessly, and I don't have to shut the battery charging circuit off before switching the unit on. 2500 watts (2200 continuous) from 48 lbs. Fantastic
Started on first pull
Frank D.Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/7/2024This is my second Westinghouse inverter generator. I bought this one for a lighter weight option. First generator is a 4500 and is much heavier. I’ve put it well through its pieces for the last three years with no issues. I’m hoping to have the same experience with this 2550. So far so good, and I love how quiet it is.
Light weight and quiet
Fortress2024Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/19/2025We were without power for a week owing to Hurricane Helene. This is just what I needed then to run 15W appliances and charge my solar generator. Borrowed someone else's 5000 W generator, but it was very loud and heavy. This one has plenty of capacity for my usage as a backup and is much quieter and easier to move around. I particularly like the dual fuel capability and 30 amp outlet for my travel trailer.
Just what I needed....
timbo63Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/19/2018I purchased this Generator to power our Lance 2285 as a backup for the solar and to run the air conditioner when campin in the sticks, as well as home backup in the event of a power outage. So far I've just set it up and ran it through its paces with several common household tools, haven't had a chance to hook it up to the camper. Anyway, I never saw more than 50% utilization and never heard it have to ramp up to full speed to power anything I threw at it, even a 5HP shop vac. From videos I've seen on YT, this should power our AC unit (13.5k BTU) with no problems Pros: The fuel gauge is an amazing feature and works perfectly The display constantly rotates through helpful information and updates in real time with the varying load applied, i....
