Great buy at the best time

Great unit so far. Started on the 1st pull after adding the oil and fuel and ran at full load for 3 days after a bad storm and power outage. Saved all our frozen meat and gave us useful power for other things. Lightweight and easy to use. No problems at all with it and now safely tucked away for the next emergency.

Disappointed first experience

Purchased to use at whole camping at EAA AirVenture. The break-in period went smoothly, although it seemed a bit louder than I had expected. The first morning of use at AirVenture went as expected, but every use after that was a struggle. That evening I started it and walked away. After a few minutes, it died. I restarted it and it died within seconds. This time I was able to see the low oil indicator. I checked the oil and it was fine. After manipulating the unit a bit, it started and stayed running. The next evening, similar situation. I started it, but it died within seconds. I messed with it until it finally stayed running again, but no clear rhyme or reason why. The next attempt to run it was a similar situation. Now that ...

Best of both worlds, compact, light weight, yet powerful!

After researching inverter generators for our camper the Westinghouse stood out as the leader of the pack. It is very compact which makes it easy to pack for our camping trips. It is light enough at 48lbs for my wife to be able to pick up and move it around. Most importantly it is powerful enough to start and run our 10.5 btu air conditioner in our pop up camper.

Powerful enough to run my RV air conditioner.

I bought this for occasional use with my camping trailer. Tried it out and it has plenty of power to run the camper A/C or microwave oven. Also will be used for emergency power when the electricity goes off in the winter. After filling the crankcase with oil and adding gasoline it started on the first pull, impressive!

    Fills the bill.

I am very happy with the iGen2600. It runs the AC and other stuff in my trailer. It's very quiet. In 90 degree weather, after an hour running the AC it shuts down until it cools off. Can't tell if that's an automatic feature or it just happens. The LED display is very helpful. The price is right.

So far so good... Did have to return first one

Works great and is actually pretty quiet. When under a full load it gets loud but hey.. It's a generator lol the first one I received the cord got stuck out and would not go in after the 2nd pull but they sent me a replacement instantly so great customer service!

Highly recommend, especially for RV camping

I purchased this generator to run my Rockwood Mini-light 2109S travel trailer. It has a 13.5K BTU air conditioning system. It was actually able to start the AC with no modifications but I am at 340 feet above sea level. I purchased the Micro-Air soft start for the air conditioner and now this generator can run the AC even in econo-mode. The generator is very quiet and spools up instantly when needed. This generator has an LED display that tells how much power you're drawing, how much fuel is left, voltage and how much run time you have at any given power setting. The only thing it is missing is a hobbs meter but this unit beats the Honda 2000 in power and has more features. The only question I couldn't get an answer for is the type of cylin...

    Powers everything in my camper!

Just tested the igen2500 on my 23 ft camper, runs the 13,500 a/c unit on low at 50% power and on high at 75% power. Will run the refrigerator and a/c at the same time with the tv and some lights on. I did try to run a 1hp air compressor with it just to see if it would... ran for a fews seconds then went into overload. Very silent when idling with 0-25% load, gets a bit louder as load increases more than 50%. Very portable and easy to carry around, 3 year warranty cant go wrong with this gen. I would buy again.

    Love the easy handling

We bought this because of the easy to handle weight. so far starting low sound is wonderful we cant wait to take camping and see how it works. when we open camper up in a few weeks we will try it at the house before we head out but we know we will be pleased.

    2nd Westinghouse inverter generator

I own a larger inverter generator, and I’d like it so much. I decided to buy a second one that is more portable for camping, road trips, or working on my land. My off grid cabin has no access to electricity unless I use a generator or solar panel, so this is what I have powering my tiny home.

    Inverter Gen i2550

I bought this generator after owning a Champion. I'm glad I did. This Westinghouse i2550 is so much quieter and lighter. We use it for our camper and it has worked out well so far. We have had it for a few months now and look forward to many years of service. It was also half price of the more expensive competitors which helped my pocketbook! I am pleased that it is just as quiet also.

    Lightweight and Powerful Generator

Bought this as insurance for if my power goes out again from a future hurricane or winter ice storm to make sure my basic needs are met like running refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sump pump, a few lights, tv and internet, and charging of laptop and phones until power is restored. Bonus is that unit is so portable I can take it with me if going out into a non-powered campsite etc.

    Read the manual

I did the 5 hour break in with variable loads under 50% and changed the oil which was silvery dirty, so do that. Starting with propane says push the button 3 times on the regulator, choke, pull till firm and pull to start then turn off choke, pull till firm and pull to start. Repeat process till starts. This helps!!! usually on the 2nd pull it will start instead of just pulling and pulling. Having a full tank of propane works best too. Thinking of installing a soft start on my rv air conditioner but bought this mostly as a portable propane inverter clean power generator to charge my 2 solar generators that won’t charge with my old non sine-wave generator. Seems light without gasoline :)

    Love it...Only one complaint

I purchased this generator to use in the boatyard while working on my sailboat. I wanted dual fuel because, if you know carburetors, you know how they can go wrong on you. This allows you to utilize propane "in a pinch". There's nothing like having a backup fuel source. I have had a few complaints. 1. Fuel spill and discoloration of cover This is a materials issue. While filling it with ethanol-free fuel, I spilled some down the side of the unit. Before I realized it, the fuel had discolored the cover. This is no issue at all. I'm not trying to win a beauty contest with this thing. 2. Stopped running and set me back a couple of days. While in the yard, using the unit, it began to sputter and it eventually shut down after a few minutes...

    Great Unit!

Bought unit on 10/31/24 and but through the 5 hour break in procedure the next day varying from no load to 50% load with a space heater - The generator ran flawlessly. Took about 5 pulls to start after the first fuel fill to prime but after that it started on first pull after the 3 oil changes that I did for break in. So far I'm very happy.

    I finally have one!

I reviewed and studied "every" portable lower wattage generator/inverter sold in the US! And on paper, features, capabilities, price and, of course, as always comparing to Honda 2000 and Yahama 2000, the Westinghouse Igen2500 scored the best! On price it beats almost everybody, but I would have paid the same as the "BIG2". Why?...........the running wattage is 2200....I need 1800....that means I will almost always (except on surges) be running well below max saving fuel with less NOISE! I am one of those oldies that appreciates and welcomes technology that actually works for you! The diagnostics display is digitally fantastic.......watts, fuel time to run, fuel level, and volts (sadly missing amps) right there all the time (checked them aga...

    Great Features and Operation

In researching 2500 Watt Inverter Generator's, I found Westinghouse iGen2550 inverter generator the best value with great features for the cost. I will use the generator for my RV, one deciding factor was to 30AMP plug, so I don't need an adapter to plug in my trailer. The 1800 Running watts on gas will operate all features on the RV including my AC. I'd recommend this generator to anyone. It's the best value and features on the market tday!

    Ran for 15 days straight

I bought two of these on our way home from a road trip cut short by Hurricane Helene. We hoped to get them running in time to save our frozen and refrigerated foods. We did. Runs great and adequate for our need. The controls are easy to understand. Starts dependably. Just remember to start without a load and don't expect it to power your house. Count the watts on your devices. Don't expect it to power a microwave, toaster oven, or coffee maker unless you dedicate the service just to one if those high demand appliances at a time. We kept one running for 15 days. The oil change interval is a killer, but it takes less than a pint. It's quiet, compact, and moveable with built-in handle. Excellent for emergency backup for basic needs...

    Convenient generator for occasional boondocking!

Wanted a small generator that would be easy to lift in and out of pickup truck bed for a long road trip from Arizona through western Canada. This will supplement our solar/lithium battery system during our boondocking days/nights, and wanted dual fuel for flexibility. Already own 2 of Westinghouse's larger model, iGen4500DF. All are a great value compared to other brands!

    Excellent successor to WH2400i

Initial impressions are quite good. Seems to have a better overall fit and finish compared to my WH2400i. The entire side can be removed for maintenence which seems much more convenient than my 2400 though valve lash adjustment requiring access to the valve cover still appears to require a more complete disassembly much like the 2400. Love the runtime indicator as it helps to make scheduling maintenance less of a guessing game.

    Easy to operate

Instructions for setup were simple, information panel works well and takes the guesswork out of runtime, capacity, fuel level, and total hours of operation. So far very pleased with the simplicity of the product, and hopeful that it will stand the test of time.

Westinghouse 2500 watt dual fuel generator

This is a great generator. I have 2 smaller Westinghouse 2200 watt generators that I purchased 7 and 5 years ago that I use for camping and can run them in parallel they are great and still running strong after a lot of use. This one runs great as well and having the ability to run on either gas or propane is great. I anticipate many years of use.
