- 5 out of 5 stars review3/30/2018I totally over-researched portable inverter generators before finally settling on the iGen2500. I wanted something to have on hand for our next power outage and a portable inverter unit fit the bill nicely. Setup was a breeze with everything included in the box except for a standard Philips screw driver. The setup sheet and manual are clear and easy to understand. The unit is small and light enough to easily store on a shelf in the garage. I don't have much to compare it to, but the iGen2500 is pretty quiet. The design is clever with an easily-removable side panel to access the oil fill/drain and fuel bowls. As I don't anticipate using the iGen a whole lot, I really like that the fuel system includes a bowl drain and hose to quickly and eas...
Very well built and not too big or expensive
Walter FOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/17/2024Wow, what a nice little generator! I originally wanted to buy the champion, but glad I didn't. I followed the directions to start it. It was a super easy and started on the 3rd pull using propane. I am so surprised with how quiet this thing is . The led light was a great touch making it easier to see when plugging things in it in the dark. Hope it lasts a long time!
Great Purchase
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/8/2024I bought this generator for our RV when we go dry camping. Received my generator added oil that was supplied, added gas and the generator started up after 5 pulls on the chord. I let it run for about 1/2 hour. Later I started it with one pull and attached our RV and it worked fine everything ran including the AC. The next day started with one pull hooked RV up and everything still ran fine. I haven't had it long enough to really give it a good work out but will be using it on the RV the next camping trip.
Worked as it should right out of box
NH CamperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 2 out of 5 stars review7/7/2020I purchased this two months ago to get ready for this camping season. It just has to run my RV 13500 BTU AC and it does/did. As soon as it arrived in May I put it through its paces and all seemed fine. I put it up until a week before our July trip and got it out to run. After one hour, it started "hunting" around, surging, and then quitting. I checked oil, all good. I then put in a new NGK spark plug and it did start back up but a sputtering start. It ran again for about 30 minutes, started hunting, and quit. I started again and it ran fine for two hours and I put it away until today, same thing, hunting, surging, quitting. I need help, I'm counting on this generator for the next two and a half weeks camping. I need customer ser...
Surging and quitting too early to tell
TimshufflinOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/1/2017Just received the IGEN 2500 - Started on 3rd Pull (first pull after warmed up) - The motor stared a little rough but quickly smoothed out after about 20 mins. I have 2 hours of run time so far - all gauges / indicators appear to work properly. All the indicators and USB Charging ports are great to have ! Big improvement over the competition. I loaded it with Lights, Air Mattress pump, Blender, and hair dryer - the generator did not miss a beat - it ramped up smoothly to meet the demand. The max capacity output only showed 50%. The 2200 Running Watts vs the Honda 1600 Running Watts is a big advantage. The no load noise level is higher than the Honda but under load, I would rate this generator very close to the Honda - (but it is a little lou...
Better than Honda out of the Box - Time will tell
One PuttOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/10/2023I just received this product a few days ago and so far so good. Well written manual and the unit appears to be fully serviceable. Oiled it up and it fired after the first few pulls the first start up and on the first pull thereafter. Looking forward to many years of use and at the product price point that’s a great deal!
Great value
DamonCOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/28/2023Working well so far, easy to setup, and arrived with enough engine oil to get started. I'll be using it to supplement a home back-up system and so I can charge batteries during adverse weather. The ability to use propane was a big deciding factor. I wish it tallied running hours but otherwise so far, so good.
Nice, dual fuel inverter generator
DJ2789Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/16/2024I just picked up this generator today. Upon trying to lift the box I thought it was heavy, but after getting it unpacked I found it was very easy to carry around. Set up was very easy, and the oil funnel that actually screws into the oil access is a great touch. It started right up and ran great! I am looking forward to a long useful life out of this equipment. It replaces a larger generator that was too heavy to move around.
Great Inverter Generator
Jim921Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review4/24/2020I purchased two of these. One product runs top notch, spot on! The other one however.... Upon opening the box one of the cover screws fell out, (Part #100507 Screw M6x16) and I can not re-install. Would not start. I replaced the spark plug with a NGK plug and the motor fired right up. Engine stalled out and died after running 30 mins without any load. Repeated the same process while I was seasoning the engine. three times the engine died with less than 2 hrs run time total. I may have to contact the manufacturer if I can not resolve this.
SWEET
TonoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/30/2023Ran for 24hrs straight and saved me more than the purchase price of the food in my freezer alone. This ram my side by side fridge/freezer, deep freezer and a power strip full of electronics and never went over 50% load. Also could not believe how quiet it is.
Little engine that could
Jc2013Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/11/2024Inverter? Check! 30-amp plug-in? Check! Dual Fuel? Check! Quality build, well-written instructions, started on first pull on propane? Check! Check! Check! This is the perfect inverter-generator for my RV as well as basic backup for the house. Couldn't be happier!
Perfect for my needs!
RedriderTxOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/2/2025The Inverter is well built. The build quality is evident while unpacking the unit. We bought this unit to power a small refrigerator dedicated for insulin as well as the large main food and beverage French door refrigerator for power outages. This unit handles both refrigerators with no issue. The unit is very quite as it runs on our deck without disturbing the neighbors.
Outstanding Build Quality and Great Price
Mike10715Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review5/17/2025Despite my husband's insistence on buying a new generator and me nagging him incessantly to test it out to make sure it worked before it was too late to return it, he waited 6 months to do so. When he had no luck starting it, I was not happy for the above reason. After some troubleshooting without luck, I suggested he try our grill propane tank vs. the large one in our yard, just in case there was a problem with it (as we rarely use it). That worked, thankfully so we are relieved. We have not tried it with gasoline, but appreciate the versatility. Hurricane season is coming and now we are ready. It is common to lose power so this will come in handy to power a fridge and some fans. Once our large propane tank is refilled or fixed, we wil...
Like the dual fuel options
xtasOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/23/2025I bought this a week ago and did a lot of research beforehand with my dad and brother. It’s super fuel efficient and when I tested it, it started on 1st pull which impressed my dad. He was even impressed when I showed him it can run up to 12 hours on only the 1 gallon size tank. It wasn’t extremely loud and only sounded like a weed wacker was running.
Inverter GOAT
Gabe25Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/7/2024I just received this Inverter Generator yesterday. Have yet had a reason to use it, but the product is solidly built and was packaged very securely! Only time and use will prove how good this generator is. I'm confident this will prove useful in the near future!
Quality Build and not too heavy!
ZFiddy350Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/2/2024This inverter generator is relatively light and easy to use. It stars on the first couple of pulls. The data center provides all the information you want. Voltage, frequency, runtime, fuel level and much more. I can confidently recommend this product!
Light Weight Inverter Generator
Donna JOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/3/2018In Ct. we have extreme weather events at times....severe snowstorms, thunderstorms and then there are times the power goes out for other non-weather related situations...this happened on 2 occasions this past winter. My wife with the help of our son researched what a good generator would be for our situation and they read reviews on line and purchased the iGen 2500. Thankfully we got by without any outages the rest of March because I got my "gift" of the iGen 2500 for my birthday in April. What a great surprise and can't wait to put it to the test .....although we did try it out and it works great! Check out the other great reviews online. Highly recommend this product!
Great product and quite a surprise for me!
JohnOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/17/2018This unit is a must have for tailgating and weekend camping trips, super quiet and efficient turns camping into glamping! Small enough to tuck into the back of our 2 door wrangler with camping gear and a cooler for weekend fishing trips in the keys! Hopefully we won't have to use it for a hurricane but if so we know the power and reliability is there!
Super quiet quality generator!
PSUCHEFOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/14/2024I bought this unit to run an Airstream Basecamp when we are boondocking (microwave & AC, or to top off the batteries on a cloudy day). I am impressed with how quiet it is and it's portability. I also love that I don't have to haul gasoline around, I can just tap into the two propane tanks we carry for the trailer since its duel fuel!!
The Generator that Could, Great Little Unit...!
pb NoMadOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/5/2024The generator was bigger than I thought it would be, but still portable. It was easy to figure out and the instructions were clear. Adding the engine oil was easy and it came with a convenient funnel. It started right up using my propane tank and the hose that came with it. A little louder than expected for a quiet generator, but much quieter than a regular non inverter generator. I recommend this product.
Easy to assemble and started easily
