- 5 out of 5 stars review7/1/20241st of 2 that I purchased for my Airstream to run parallel. After 7 or pulls I took the choke off and it started with one pull. See review of the 2nd generator after I register it. (Started on 1st pull!) Waiting for parallel plug arriving tomorrow.
Super quiet, lightweight.
GreenlightOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/5/2023I've been looking for a small inverter to put in our 5th wheel for a backup in case of power loss. Wanting something small and lite this fit the bill. Just purchased yesterday 10/4/23 so haven't had time to use, just ran it for a couple hours to break in. Filled it with the oil supplied and gas and started it on the first pull. Very quiet, like the gauges & LED lights. All in all, can't beat it for the price and features.
Very nice inverter!!
Keith @13Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/10/2017Purchased to power my pop-up camper while camping. The purchase was easy and delivery to store was estimated correctly and prompt. Purchased because of good reviews and the included 3 year warranty. The unit is compact and light weight. I have yet to try it out. Will update when I do.
Happy So Far!
CourtneyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review10/29/2023We had this generator for just over a month now. We used it a couple times to power a few things (Tv, DVD player and a led light) at camp a couple weekends. I was hoping this would be a great upgrade for our older Kawasaki, my uncle has a much bigger Westinghouse at his camp that has not let him down. To our disappointment, the generator started having problems like starting when it wants and when it does start, it runs for 15-20 minutes and shuts down all of a sudden. I'm going to start the process of getting in touch with the company in hopes they can help get something figured out.
Worked a couple times

I have passed your ... - 4 out of 5 stars review9/27/2017The iGen 2500 started right up. It was surprisingly easy and smooth to pull the cord. I did a one hour test run with a full size side by side refrigerator, one lamp, one box fan, a charging iPad, and a Mac all at the same time. I never saw it resister above 25% or so and all went well. Ran nice and quiet. In some cases the refrigerator could create a major but very brief surge in watts (maybe 1,800 at the most) that might require powering up and stabilizing it before connecting the rest. I don't think it would be a problem once the refrigerator is cooled down. This is what we ran with a borrowed generator during Irma and it helped a lot, no lost food and reasonable comfort sleeping. The only problem is the fuel gauge does not work but I ful...
Run great, quiet, and appears to be well made
BobOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/20/2024This generator provides great peace of mind knowing that we can keep not only freezers and furnace running during a power outage but also internet equipment and other sensitive electronics. This generator has proven to handle all the critical loads on numerous occasions. Highly recommended.
Reliable generator at a great price
matt68123Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/20/2025WE BOUGHT THIS GENERATOR AS A RESULT OF THE HURRICANES LAST SEASON. DETERMINED TO HAVE SOMETHING IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, THIS PRODUCT WAS THE RIGHT FIT FOR OUR HOUSEHOLD. LIGHT WEIGHT, EASILY PORTABLE AND THE OPTION TO USE PROPANE OR GAS WERE THE ULTIMATE SELLING POINT. WOULD RECOMMEND FOR HOUSEHOLD USE.
JUST IN TIME BEFORE THE WINTER BLUES
SWEETVALLEY25Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/1/2017After researching on portable generators for over 3 months, every brand, I selected the westinghouse igen 2500. I compared weight, fuel consumption, noise level, and portability. Bottom line, this beats all in combination of my requirements. Super buy, super performance, noise levels was surprising once I hit the efficiency button. Used it over a month with small lapses. Running simultaneously refrigerator, lamp, fan and a coffee maker with barely 50% of power. Love it!
Excellent Portability
CarlOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/11/2024The generator came with everything needed to get started. It’s light weight, but powerful enough to run my rv and one ac unit. I like that it has a 30 amp rv plug receptacle. It has a gas shut off valve and it’s also easy to drain the carburetor for storage.
Great for RV,ing
N o n eOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/14/2017this is just the right size . have shoulder problem but was able get in into my truck very easily , very quite runs everything I need it to including my a/c unit test it out for yourself you won't be disappointed very easy to start too. five stars will buy another to parallel for sure
very nice, light weight ,very portable.
gmanOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review7/20/2024I’ve only unboxed it and am currently breaking it in. It is not as quiet as advertised. Using the NIOSH SLM app for I phone I got the following readings. No load/ eco mode on (idle) 76db beside the machine and 58 db at 50’ on the exhaust end. No load, eco mode off 85 db at the machine, 64 db at 50’. It’s not excessive but it is nearly lawnmower loud. So you won’t be hiding its use.
Well built, easy to use, Louder than expected.
You dont need my nameOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/11/2025Since I've only used it one time, I can make no claims regarding long term reliability. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the build. Nothing looked chintzy, or cheap. It even came with a bottle oil, and a full set of printed manuals and other reference material. A rarity with today's products. My upper body strength is not the greatest, but I could carry it with my left arm without straining, I followed the clear quick start notes, and it started on the second pull. I was able to boil a pot of water in a 1000 watt pot while running a fan without a problem. I also checked that the 2 5volt USB ports worked. If this summer is anything like the last few, I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it.
Off to a good start
Apple99Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/8/2024I bought this recently and still in the recommended break-in period. So far all is well. This generator was well packed and all supplied information is clear. It also came with a few accessories plus the oil for the first fill. I like the information center on this unit as my other generator does not have such a feature. This unit has a bit more output too. 20amp circuit compared to 15amp circuit on similar sized models.
Packaged well with clear instructions.
GraylingOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/22/2018I started out using some 85 octane I had in the garage. The exhaust didn't smell to good and it didn't run very well. I always intended on running 91 octane Ethanol free gas and when I did it ran much better and the exhaust didn't stink like old gas. She likes 91 so that's what I recommend you run.
Nice generator
Ronald ReaganOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/6/2024This unit will be a great addition to my travel trailers ability to be self sufficient. Having the 30 amp receptacle will make it for easy connection along with the dual fuel feature, and light weight, I will be able to operate the iGen 2550 with my onboard propane tanks. Can’t wait for camping season to start my charging arsenal.

La PacienciaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review6/8/2024I bought this based on price and features as a backup for my RV. Although the quick start information wasn't packaged in the box as it is supposed to be, the owners manual helped me get it started. It started and ran fine but I haven't really used it under load. I struggled getting it registered since the address Westinghouse provides simply dumps you into their website and without a dropdown for registration, you have to look all over for the registration page.
So far so good
Powered nowOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/10/2019Just received the Igen2500, added oil and gas, then went to start it and it started first pull. runs smooth and quiet, then hooked it up to my R-POD with a 13500btu air conditioner, ran a/c no problem, running around 1400-1500 watts steady. tried it on another rv with a different brand a/c same results. Love the LED data display. So far very happy!
Suprisingly Good
EgorrOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/25/2025This is the best inverter/generator on the market for in this price range. The quality is every bit as good as premium brands, such as RYOBI and Honda. So many incredible features, easy to use, and starts every time with just 2 to 3 tugs. I highly recommend Westinghouse!!
Compact, light weight, and powerful
Excelente
HeryOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/28/2020I bought this generator because I believe it will power my 13,500 BTU RV Air Conditioner given the many reviews I have read, and videos watched. This generator seems to have an ability to absorb the immediate surge at A/C startup much better than other generators in the same output range. It will easily handle the ongoing power requirement of the Air Conditioner which I measure at about 1400 Watts, plus some other electrical requirements at the same time(like battery charging). I was also impressed with the fact that it comes with a 3 year warranty, which I hope I will not have to use!
Bought to run RV A/C
