PERFECT FOR CAMPING

I purchased this last year but did not register it then. This is my second Westinghouse inverter generator. I loved my last one. We sold our RV and subsequently sold the generator. We purchased a new RV and didn't hesitate on buying another Westinghouse.

Disappointed first experience

Purchased to use at whole camping at EAA AirVenture. The break-in period went smoothly, although it seemed a bit louder than I had expected. The first morning of use at AirVenture went as expected, but every use after that was a struggle. That evening I started it and walked away. After a few minutes, it died. I restarted it and it died within seconds. This time I was able to see the low oil indicator. I checked the oil and it was fine. After manipulating the unit a bit, it started and stayed running. The next evening, similar situation. I started it, but it died within seconds. I messed with it until it finally stayed running again, but no clear rhyme or reason why. The next attempt to run it was a similar situation. Now that ...

    GREAT -

early for writing review but they are throwing in gift. Very impressed with things included like 1st round of oil, funnel/spout all hoses, etc. I'am quite sure I'll be super happy with performance but weeks to month out of getting generator ready for RV use.

    Inverter

I purchased this unit yesterday as my power was out for 24 hours thus far. I had my brother n law come and assist me in hooking it up and getting it up and running. I used for around 8 hours before my power was restored. It was easy to turn off and store for the next time. I am pleased as I am 72 years old and at this point I can still move it somewhat....

    Worked Right Out The Box

Ugly storms came rolling in; lost power. Received a notice the power would not be restored for 6-8 hour time span. Sump pit was filling and starting to fill the perimeter tile. Ran to Menards, picked up, placed in operation, kept a dry finished basement.

I like the control panel features

My one problem is that the engine control switch is backwards. I have to turn the switch to "off" to start it up and turn the switch to "choke" to shut it down. It runs quietly which is nice. Looking forward to powering up some tools out in the country.

    Perfect for camping

I bought this earlier this month, so we could have something small for camping trips. And this is perfect! Quiet, easy to use, light weight. Ran it for about 27hours straight, and was able to keep up with everything! Had our Alpicool fridge/cooler plugged into it and none of our food went bad. 10/10 would recommend this generator to everyone!

    Keeps the furnace running

Even though we have a whole-house generator, I bought this unit as a backup to power the furnace if the large generator should fail, and to power computer equipment. It seems to be very well built and it starts easily and takes the load quickly. It is also portable enough that I can put it in the UTV and take it to a neighbor's house if they lose power, or to the back of our property do some maintenance.

    A nice generator

The generator was easy to start and operate without any special effort or frustration. I just followed the instructions. I do not have a good comparison to other generators, but it does not seem too loud. We used it at a campground and it wasn't too bad. It was great to plug in the camper's plug into it and have electricity inside. It is sturdy and I like the fact that you can just lift it by the handle and carry it to wherever you want to place it. Look forward to using it more in the near future. So far I am very happy with it.

    Little Blue Powerhouse

I really like this generator, easy to transport, starts easy and very quiet. I had an older coleman generator 2250 watts and it struggled with a circular saw and running a light. I ran a water well pump several lights and a circular saw and this iGen 2500 had no problems what so ever running these all at the same time. Great product !

    Full package

I bought this a week ago, I inspected it thoroughly before starting the break-in process. One thing I wish was in my manual was the break-in process. It's lightweight, starts on the second pull, great features. Thinking this will last me. Will be used for camping and backup refrigerator power. I bought store extended warranty on top of the great 3 year offered by westinghouse. Igen 2550 inverter.

    Looks Nice! Runs Quiet!

This Inverter generator is a lot quieter than I was expecting. I had ran it for an hour to break it in so that I could change the oil. Only thing I recomment is changing the spark plug. You just cant trust the cheepo ones. Otherwise this thing is fantastic!

Good for tailgating, keeping things running in an emergency.

So far, I've just been getting through a break-in period, but after the first few minutes, it was running smoothly and very quiet! Want to be ready for hurricane season and I think for purposes of being able to run my fridge, a hotplate, and a very small AC (one at a time of course) I should be set!

    Versatile

I contemplated getting one of the larger units by Yamaha or Honda, but those weight 100-150 lbs and don't provide as much power as two of these units in parallel, and these only weight about 50 lbs each. I use these to power a trailer with 13500 BTU A/C, but occasionally I can hook up to shore. When that happens, it's nice to only bring one of these to power some of my other accessories.

    Second Westinghouse generator

After being so satisfied with our 4500df we opted to purchase this second Westinghouse 2550df for the versatility that it offers. It's lighter than we thought it would be which is great and the dual fuel feature is awesome. Currently breaking it in on propane and it's running perfectly as expected.

    One-pull start and very quiet

Purchased this generator to power my camper due to the positive reviews. Once I received this item it lived up to my expectation. The generator starts up with one easy pull of the cord and is quiet enough to use a campgrounds without any complaints. This was a good value for the price and would recommend to anyone.

    Less Expensive than Honda

My inverter arrived yesterday. Added oil & gas and it started right up. It's surprisingly quiet. I considered a Honda 2200 but this was about 1/3 the price. It seems to be well made. It's light and easy to move around and store. I'll try to post another review after I use it for a month or so.

    Excellent Portability

After researching on portable generators for over 3 months, every brand, I selected the westinghouse igen 2500. I compared weight, fuel consumption, noise level, and portability. Bottom line, this beats all in combination of my requirements. Super buy, super performance, noise levels was surprising once I hit the efficiency button. Used it over a month with small lapses. Running simultaneously refrigerator, lamp, fan and a coffee maker with barely 50% of power. Love it!

    Innovative Engineering and High Performance

The iGen2550DFc is quite possibly the perfect combination of innovative engineering and high performance in an inverter generator. The fact that it's many features are packaged in such a compact form factor is really impressive. We use this to power lighting and accessories in a marine application. But the flexibility of dual fuel source (gasoline and propane) pretty much guarantees the unit can handle just about any situation.

    DO YOUR DUE DILLIGENCE!

Short and sweet! I did A LOT of research and you should too. Reviews indicated units arrived with broken spark plugs, bought a new one before my unit arrived. When it did arrive, yep spark plug was broken. Reviews also said to use a magnetic oil filler plug and break unit in properly. I did and glad I did. Lot of garbage in the first oil change at 1 hour. Now for the good, reviews suggested putting upper cylinder oil in cylinder without spark plug and pulling it slowing to lubricate the cylinder prior to starting. I did this with 2 tablespoons of Lucas oil, installed new plug and the dang thing started first pull. Smoked due to the oil but cleared up in minutes and off we go. Runs quiet and YAHOO, mine came with an hour meter. Wish I had k...

    Nice Unit

Well packaged and complete. Instructions are easy to understand and well organized. This unit is simple and straight-forward. It powers everything I had hoped for and more. Small and reasonably light it's very portable, stores easily and runs smooth and quiet. Dual fuel gives me another option in an emergency and I don't need to store liquid fuel for long periods.

    iGen2550DFc Portable Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator

Initially I purchased a larger Inverter Generator (130+ lbs), but quickly realized that I would be better served by having 2 smaller, portable units for my RV usage (43 lbs). Reasonable noise level. Also very helpful for home usage during power outages. Quite versatile and convenient. Can be carried back on my property to run equipment away from the house.
