We can assure you that our Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain has gone through many quality checks to ensure that you can enjoy the best possible results with it. As well, we certainly wouldn't expect the product to impart a taste into your dishes or food. It may be helpful to know that some items can become worn to be the point of being porous, and we suggest making sure to not soak these items, but instead wash them immediately and rinse thoroughly. If you'd like to remove the scent from your dishes, we recommend that you soak them in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it. As well, it may be helpful to know that we do have other Dawn versions available if you'd prefer a different scent.
