New scent is terrible
Like many other customers, I find the new scent is terrible! It’s too strong, it causes sneezing and eye watering. And the scent and taste doesn’t come out. Our pets won’t eat from dishes that are washed with it. And our coffee now has a soapy taste. The old Platinum Fresh Scent was better On the plus side, no one want me to hand wash any thing, so it all gets washed in the dishwasher.

We can assure you that our Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. As well, it has gone through many quality checks to ensure that you can get the best possible results with the ease. We wouldn't expect Dawn to impart the product taste into dishes or food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it's possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous. We suggest not soaking porous items, but instead making sure that they're washed immediately and rinsed thoroughly. We'd also like to mention that while our Dawn Platinum Refreshing Rain was renamed to Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain, no scent change took place. We'll make sure to share your comments with our team, and we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product. For a lighter scent, we suggest checking out our Dawn Free & Clear. Hate the new scent!!
I bought a new bottle of dawn orginal that had the new scent. It's awful!!! I put it outside for my husband to use. Thank goodness i was able to find a bottle of the original scent. If they keep this scent, I will not be purchasing dawn anymore and I'm not going to use the fragrance free version. Why would change a good thing. Just keep the original and add a line called new perfume scent. Ugh!!

Horrible scent
The new scent is horrible and offensive. I had to air out my kitchen and the horrible fragrance took hours to dissipate. This new scent is extremely unpleasant and way too intense. Since so many consumers like myself have fragrance sensitivity, I really do not understand why you do not make an unscented version.

Does as promised
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this stuff because it performs as promised. Living in a house full of men who never rinse out pots and pans this Dawn is a God send! It also works well on stove tops and other kitchen surfaces that get nasty greasy like deep fryers. I just wet a sponge with Dawn Power, scrub it down, let it sit about 5 minutes and wipe clean.
Good soap, cleans dishes well as would be expected. Looses a star because the scent could be better, it’s just plain but some may prefer that. I wouldn’t say the platinum works better than any of their other dish soap either, so I can’t recommend if it costs more but I’m not sure what the prices were.
My dishwashing machine uses a different soap, and I love having it, but I occasionally find myself needing to hand wash something. Dawn is my choice every time and I doubt it will change. It works perfectly every time to get my dishes clean, and it only takes a small amount of the soap.
Not animal safe or friendly
I have used dawn for years now that it has a new clean scent its horrible, everything i wash smells and absorbs the smell getting into the food and beverages we drink its literally ruined anything porous I own including my pets ceramic food bowls. When i dilute it to see if it helps it does not. I'm looking for a new dish soap. I can't believe this new soap would be safe for animal use in any way either. I hope common sense is used in this case.

In regard to the scent affecting your food, drinks, and pet bowls, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. Additionally, we want to assure you that safety for you and your pets is our highest priority, and we put our products through extensive testing ensure they are safe to use as directed. The cleaning power of Dawn Platinum is above all others in my opinion. I really like the scent and it's effective in removing grease and food from you dishes , pots etc. I like the colors on the packaging. The price is great for the quality of product you get.
Awful!!!!!
If I could give it no stars I would. I have always used Dawn and saw that there was a new scent. I really dislike the cheap scents that are everywhere these days. I use unscented laundry detergent and fabric softener because I choose not to smell of cheap perfume all day. I saw the new scent and thought, "How bad could it be?" It's hideous! I gave away a large size bottle because all my cups and utensils smelled perfumy. I will try the unscented version, but I wish you would bring back the original scent. I suppose the focus group were fans of dollar store perfume.

The only dish soap I have ever used in my home. When I was growing up I used other dish soaps my mom would get but I remember some were like water or just felt odd after washing my hands or doing dishes so I have stuck with dawn and I get the regular one to wash my dog.
