Horrible Scent
I've been using Dawn for many years. Loved it. Just purchased a new bottle, and the new scent is terrible. Overly perfumey and the smell sticks to the dishes. And worse than that, it no longer gets my dishes " squeaky clean", as there is now a slippery residue left on the dishes, no matter how many times you rinse. My husband even noticed it. It is now just like all of the other dish soaps I left by the wayside. If you want to offer a new scent, fine, but please also offer the option of original formula, original scent Dawn.

You may need to simply use more dish soap to get your dishes clean, but if there's residue on the dishes, we recommend soaking those dishes. The refreshing rain scent STINKSSSS
I Cannot believe the scent changed from great to gross. Why? Just why? I guess you'll find out soon enough, what a mistake the new chemical concoction was. You could've just made a rain stink an addition to your product line and not change the original. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢

Awful!!!!!
If I could give it no stars I would. I have always used Dawn and saw that there was a new scent. I really dislike the cheap scents that are everywhere these days. I use unscented laundry detergent and fabric softener because I choose not to smell of cheap perfume all day. I saw the new scent and thought, "How bad could it be?" It's hideous! I gave away a large size bottle because all my cups and utensils smelled perfumy. I will try the unscented version, but I wish you would bring back the original scent. I suppose the focus group were fans of dollar store perfume.

Stinky
The SMELL! It's terrible. I used to be a Dawn Platinum enthusiast. I recently filled my bottle with soap a new refill that I purchased in January 2023, and it smells so bad. The product seems to work the same, but my nose can't handle it. I am hoping I can find a large refill size of a product that works just as well without the smell. #bringbacktheoldscent

New scent is nauseating
I’m not much of a “recommends products to people” type of guy, but one of the few exceptions has always been the dawn platinum for its genuinely superior cleaning ability—it’s something that I am very quick to mention to people and recommend over more expensive products or time intensive home-made cleaners. However. The new refreshing rain scent formulation has made it near impossible for me to keep the hand wash dishes clean in our house lately. The second I flip open the bottle, that pungent perfume makes my stomach churn, and if I was more than two dishes at a time, I unfailingly develop a headache. While I am *somewhat* sensitive to the scents of household products, I can usually just scrunch up my nose in distaste and power through it. The new formulation for the Refreshing Rain scent makes me feel physically ill, though. I’m so disappointed, too. I used to buy this scent because it *didn’t* bother me as much as the papaya or apple. Now I have paid for this huge bottle of soap that I do NOT want to use, which I wouldn’t have even bought if I’d known the scent had changed. If there was at least a sticker on the front or something on the label, I would have smelled it in the store and known to steer clear.

I don't use any other brand. I love Dawn dish detergent. Dawn is the only brand with grease cutting action in my opinion. I love the array of scents this product has to offer. Also, it is gentle on my hands. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
New Scent is HORRIBLE
I love dawn soap but the new scent is absolutely awful and I can’t use the product. Not only does it smell bad when using it, it lingers on dishes and smells and tastes like the fragrance. I hope Dawn will communicate about this and go back to the old fragrance. If this was a cost saving measure it wasn’t worth it! I can’t use my brand new bottle

If I Could Give ZERO Stars I Would
Dawn Platinum is horrible! The foamy suds dissipate within two minutes and no longer get the dishes clean. The cleaning capabilities of Dawn Platinum lasts a fraction of the time than the original Dawn. I'm constantly having to add more soap to hand wash dishes or wipe down counters. For every 1/4 Tablespoon of original Dawn I used to use, I'm now using at least 1 - 1.5 Tablespoons of Dawn Platinum. Why are all of these corporations developing inferior products to their original products? Dawn Platinum is garbage! Do yourself a favor and buy the original Dawn and if you can't find it, consider another brand.
Wi, we completely understand your frustrations. This is not the performance we would expect you to get from our Dawn Platinum Dish Soap. The good news is that the lack of suds or bubbles doesn’t mean the product isn’t cleaning your dishes. Even if there are very few suds, the solution will carry on cleaning your dishes. But if you prefer a sink full of bubbles, We recommend trying the following: Add the dishwashing liquid to the sink before you add the water. Run your tap at high pressure. Swish the solution with your hands to get the level of suds you prefer. Use more dishwashing liquid if you live in an area with hard water. (Water conditions can change over time) Use water that's 105 to 115°F (40.56 to 46.11°C). It may also help to know that using a scouring pad or washing a lot of extra greasy dishes can make your suds disappear faster. If that’s the case, just add more dishwashing liquid. this is a great soap! it works well on food and grease, i don’t even have to scrub hard to remove them! also, the scent is amazing! the price is reasonable! and a little goes a long way! i would highly recommend this product and i will be buying again!
Horrid scent and doesn't rinse well
Very, very disappointed. The rain scent is just horrid - like an overly floral perfume from the past century. Not fresh at all - more like musty. Why did you change the scent! It reminds me of when you changed the original Tide scent a few years back - this is the same awful scent that caused me to never buy Tide again! I won;t be buying Dawn anymore unless I can find the original fresh scent. Also I noticed that it is very hard to rinse the dishes, they almost seem to be coated with a slick film.

We do have a variety of scents available, so we recommend trying out a different version to find a scent that meets your preferences. We also wouldn't expect it to be more difficult to rinse your dishes. We suggest making sure that water temperature is hot enough when you're rinsing.
