I always use Uncle Ben” s but never tried ready rice. It was so easy to make and it was ready in minutes. Loved the taste. My kids also reslly loved it. The pouch made more than enough for the entire family. Plus there was no mess. Loved it.

I love adding butter to mine and just eating it like that, but there are so many dishes you can do with this, it's so versatile! You can use it in stir-fry, I mean this can be used with anything! The regular sized pouches are ideal for only one or two people. This rice was fantastic. It microwaved quickly, the pouch was easy to open, and the rice was light and fluffy.

The instructions are self explanatory (good for kids or low reading levels) the package is easy to handle while putting in and of the microwave and best of all the consistency is right! It's not mushy or too stiff. When prepared as directed it makes the perfect side side dish.

I ate it with steak, but it may have been better with a different dish. It wasn't bad, just not what I'm used to. It does take a little while for it to actually cook so that it is soft enough to chew but firm enough to not be mushy.
