loud, bulky/heavy, but makes great ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, my family cannot live without ice. However, this machine is extremely loud, bulky, and seems to require extra cleanings if you have hard water in your home (more than the recommended amount). When you don't do the cleaning it really affects the performance of the ice machine. That said, it makes great ice and the family loves it

Not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am on my 3rd ice maker for the typical howling noise. Now this one quits and says add water even though it is full. After research this is the other common concern. Getting ready to pack it up for return again.

Unsatisfied Customer

The machine stopped working after six months of being purchased. The cleaning light and add water keeps blinking even though I have ran it through the cleaning cycles several times. I would not purchase this brand again. Customer service is not helpful.

i love my GE profile opal 0.2 it was so easy to set up! I had to get the new version because the GE profile opal didn't work from the start.

Disappointing

have had to unplug and drain multiple times to get it to make ice. very frustrating for such an expensive product.

We'd like to offer some tips that can help with maintaining your Opal and help with daily ice production. To keep your ice tasting fresh and your Opal performing properly, we recommend using distilled water when possible. This will help prevent mineral build-up inside the unit. We do recommend cleaning and descaling the unit, even if using distilled water, as it helps keep your unit in top shape, it does require less cleaning and descaling when using distilled water. You will also want to make sure that your unit has at least 4" of clearance on each side of the unit, to help the fan operate efficiently. No good

The thing worked ONCE! Now, all it does is claim I need to add water, and make grinding noses. Never makes ice.

Noisey Unit?

Best in Class
