We originally purchased the normal PetSafe Dog Door with the flap and have replaced the flap 4 times already. We have four Miniature Pinschers and the door gets a lot of use. The only door we could install a dog door was in the sitting area off our bedroom (I call it the dog room) it has a door to the back yard, but the problem has always been it is on the Northside of our house. Those cold North winds can be brutal. The money I spent to get a new door and buy the Power Pet Automatic door was well worth the money. The ease of use and what we will be saving on energy costs, this door will pay for itself........I have researched all kinds of electric Dog Doors and this was one of the top doors in my opinion.

We wanted our dog to be able to get in and out without letting the cat in; however, if our outdoor cat immediately follows our dog in the cat can get in too - a no no. We've had to block the door to make it smaller (our dog is very small) so the cat doesn't fit - so it isn't fool proof if you have smart animals.

Great product! Clean installation! Not sure if we like it more than the dog! Still laugh every time we here it open!

Best price I could find was through Sam's Club. Came VERY quickly. My pup is still learning, but we are very happy with this product. The collar strap is indeed as others have said, "poor", but otherwise it's wonderful.

It works as expected. Definitely worth the $243 to keep the raccoons out of my house, and much much cheaper than all the other similar options available online.

I had a staywell infrared door but a stray cat could push it in and get in my house. Now my cat can come and go and the stray can't get in. The noise made him nervous at first but he's good with it now.

This pet door is a great idea. It works very well letting the dog in and out, but still keeps the neighborhood animals out. After seeing it, my father liked it so much, he bought one too. A little pricey, but is a very good pet door.

I've had the door for just over 2 years now, and must admit I proclaimed it the best money ever spent for the first 18 months. Worked like a charm, the dogs caught on immediately, kept me from worrying about getting home at a certain time. But then the problems started. In summary, I've bought new batteries for the transmitters, which didn't help. Bought new transmitters, which didn't help. At the instruction of High Tech customer service, bought and had installed a new sensor wire, which didn't help. Now I'm left with a door that will only open when I push the open button. In my last correspondence with High Tech customer service, who, on their website claims to do whatever it takes to make you happy, they suggested that I remove the door, ship it back to them, and for $130 they will "refurbish" it. Which will leave a hole in my wall, of course. And there are shipping costs. And I'll have to hire someone to remove it and reinstall it. Basically I'm very frustrated. And the dogs aren't too happy either.
