Our two dogs and two cats love this door. Works consistently. Have to keep fresh batteries in collars, but only a small bother. Let's us and the animals have freedom without constantly gettting up to let one or more in or out. We can leave for the day and not worry that animals need to go in or out

This electronic pet door is the best investment we've ever made for our pets. My wife and I have two dogs and two cats. All four animals have used and abused this door for over two years now without a single problem. Our pets just love this door and so do we. If you can imagine what a nightmare it was being doorman for four active beasts, all I can say is THIS DOOR ACTUALLY CHANGED OUR LIVES! Also, from the first month we installed it, we noticed our heating bills were lower. By now, it's probably paid for itself. We love the features such as the 4 entrance modes and the battery back up. The collars are very small and their batteries need to be changed about twice per year. We have also have had support from the manufacturer that is nothing short of outstanding. About six months ago we called to see if the company made an automatic timer that we could use with the unit. They didn't but they told us a very clever way in which we could purchase a standard timer at Walmart for $6.00 and use it to control access times. In the course of the conversation, my wife mentioned that we purchased the door from Sam's Club. The customer rep then told us that Sam's members have special privileges with their company. She offered to send us the newer, upgraded waterproof collars at no charge which my wife accepted. These four collars normally sell for over $25.00 each! We love the new collars and the special treatment we got from the company which really did make us feel a little special. This electronic pet door is a wonderful invention. It has been dependable and reliable and in our experience, the company stands behind it 110%. Also, I saw this same electric pet door while shopping in my local pet store chain recently. It was going for $299.00. As you can see, Sam's Club has it at a much lower price. We feel we purchased a wonderful product at a great price. We just couldn't be happier.

This is a simple review of the door that I purchased over 7 months ago. I have four dogs that use it several times a day each. The door has given no problem as of yet. I have found the door to be a carpet saver, as the two females in my pack are both afraid of going through the door flap that this replaced. I bought it at Sam's Club which was the lowest price at the time. The cost though has been worth it.

After years of using a regular pet door and freezing in the winter, this is an excellent alternative. You do not have to open the door or leave it open for them to go in and out. Keeps all other animals and insects out. My dogs love and are upset right now because we are putting on a new deck and they have to go in and out at a regular door.l

I started out with ordinary doggie door, had to nail the flap open. Dust all over the place, the wind in the desert can be unpredictable. Went to one that unlocked with a remote on Murphy's collar, he still refused to use the door and woke up me up several times a night, (thank heaven) with this door I sleep through the night and Murphy got the idea in just two days. Best investment in my peace of mind and Murphy's freedom to go out and come in at his leisure. Trust me you and pet will be so much happier. GO FOR IT!

This is our second door we have gotten as we just moved. The new owners of our home where we installed the first one has 2 small dogs and they fell in love with it too. We had to have one in our new home. Greatest thing is the pet is the only one that can get in or out and they are totally air tight from the elements.

Dog door is great. Let's our dog go and come back in but keeps other critters out. This is our second door. Works great. High Tech has very good customer service.

The door is very nice looking. The concept is great if it only worked better. I realize it is a fairly new product and there are still many problems with perfecting it. We were disapointed that it didn't last longer considering what we paid for it. Our motor went out, and the electrician said the motor isn't strong enough for what they expect it to do. The collars have also been a nightmare, we have purchased a total of 12 collars, we have to small dogs. The sadest thing is when the door dosent open and there looking at you like what the heck is going on here.

I HAVE READ EVERY REVIEW ON HERE. ALL GOOD REVIEWS ARE UNDER 6 MONTHS. ALL BAD REVIEWS ARE OVER 6 MONTHS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. DOG COLLARS ARE SO FRAGILE THAT IF THEY HIT THE DOOR WHILE THE DOG IS ENTERING OR EXITING, THEY COME APART. HAVE BOUGHT 6 OF THEM. BATTERIES AND CHARGER WERE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER. FINALLY BOUGHT THE SAME BATTERY AND A NEW CHARGER FROM A BATTERY SUPPLIER AND BATTERY PROBLEMS WENT AWAY. BOUGHT THE DOOR IN MARCH AND RECEIVED IT IN APRIL. WOULD NOT WORK ON MY EXISITNG DOOR SO I HAD TO SPECIAL ORDER A DOOR. IT ARRIVED AND WAS INSTALLED OVER JULY 4TH HOLIDAY ALONG WITH THE PET DOOR. LOVED IT AT FIRST AND MY DOGS LOVE IT. IN FEB, 7 MONTHS LATER THE DOOR STARTED DRAGGING, WAS SLUGISH OPENING AND CLOSING. HITECH PETS SAID BUY NEW DOGGIE COLLARS. I DID. CONTINUED WITH PROBLEMS. HITECH PETS SAID GET NEW BATTERIES, I DID. ON MAY 14TH, 10 MONTHS AFTER IT WAS INSTALLED, IT DIED. COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. CALLED HIGH TECH PETS AND WAS TOLD LIKE ALL OTHERS, $135 FOR A REBUILT UNIT WITH NO WARRANTY. CALLED SAMS AND EXPLAINED MY LACK OF SATISFACTION. THEY SAID TO BUY A NEW AND RETURN THE ONE I HAD TO MY LOCAL SAM'S CLUB FOR A REFUND ON THE ORIGINAL DOOR. CALLED HITECH AND ASKED IF THATS WHAT THEY WANTED ME TO DO AND THE RESPONSE I GOT WAS IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING I DID BECAUSE THEIR DOORS EXPERIENCE LESS THAN 1% FAILURE. TAKE BACK TO SAM'S IF THEY WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY BECAUSE WE WON'T REPLACE THE UNIT. THE SAD THING IS THE DOOR WHEN IT WORKS IS GRRREEEEAAAAAATTTTTTT !!!! SO, IF YOU LIKE THE DOOR: 1-BUY ONE... 2- START SAVING UP A LITTLE MONEY EACH MONTH TO YOU CAN BUY A SECOND ONE.. 3-BUY THE SECOND DOOR WHEN PROBLEMS START... 4-GET A REFUND FROM SAM'S ON THE FIRST ONE. FOLLOW THE ABOVE PLAN AND YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A WORKING DOOR.

When you can see without opening the dog collar the electronics inside the collar get moisture inside and kills the electronics. Dogs get left outside in the cold and sometimes blizzard conditions. I have complained to the Manufacture to no avail. Would like the Owner to contact me and see how He/She feels about coming home to find their pets lock out in minus 10 degree weather near frozen to death. I have returned several collars and had to purchase 4 extra collars for backup. Now the door it's self won't open manually so having to order another door and will send the bad one back which takes a long timer to get them to replace and who wants a hole in their house while you wait 2 to 3 weeks or longer.
