No proof it filters toxic metals
This filter and refill is a joke. The performance data sheet isn't provided. If it doesn't remove toxic chemicals, then there is no purpose. It claims to be NSF, but I don't see the performance data sheet anywhere for this model and replacement. Provide the performance data sheet for this model and replacement. This would alsonw the second time I have left a review as it appears the first one hasn't been posted.

Water filter doesn't fit 100%
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we bought this filter from samsung after doing some research. there are a lot of 3rd parties provide same model filter, but some of them has fitting and leaking issue, so we decide to buy the original samsung one to avoid problem. but we are wrong!!! this water filer doesn't fit our samsung fridge perfectly even it's same mode.it won't go all the way in after install the new filter. we don't have the leak problem so far, but it just does't give us the original feel. it's a bit disappointment.

Seems to work fine
i have the 4-door flexzone fridge, rf24r7201sr, manf oct '20, came with haf-qin-exp filter (says replacement filter is da97-17376b, for use in system da97-08006c). replacement filter matched but said for use in system da97-08006c-a. oddly, the orange store sells this same filter but has haf-qins-exp on the package (but filter itself says haf-qin-exp). samsung support couldn't explain the differences so -1 star. i turned off the main water supply and let out some water from the fridge to relieve the pressure, removed the old filter, following suggestions here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/tsg01109722/ installed new filter turning a few times before it seated but seemed to fit ok. ran about 5 gals through after, everything seems good, no leaks or issues.
Filter issues
my fridge model, rs22t5201sr/aa, needs a "for use in system da97-08006c-a" (that "a" at the end is very important!). when changing the filter last night i noticed that the box stated the correct "for use in system" product #, but the actual filter did not have the a at the end of the #. it appears that it makes a 100% difference as to whether or not you'll have a huge puddle of water on your floor after a filter replacement. more like a warehouse packaging issue- since the product in the box was not what was listed on the factory packaging.

Hold Unlock Button FIRST to reset filter light.
When resetting the filter light, you must hold the unlock button FIRST for 3 seconds. The Samsung manual doesn't explain that. I found a YouTube and he explained it which made it simple. One little detail and much wasted time and aggravation could have been avoided. After you unlock, hold the reset filter button for 3 seconds. It will reset. Then hit the lock button again for 3 seconds to relock.

Incredibly hard to install without leaking
I read the reviews. I knew what I was getting myself into. And still I thought: “surely, I can install this filter without it leaking!” Oh how wrong I was. I am astounded by how easy it is for the filter to be installed with significant leaking, and how little difference there is between “correctly” installing and “incorrectly” installing. I am fortunate that enough people have posted about the leaking problem that I at least knew to look for it. So after my first attempt yielded heavy flow into my cheese drawer (which I pompously neglected to empty a priori), I quickly stopped and removed the filter. (And thankfully Samsung designed this so there is no flow when the filter is removed). Second attempt: massive leak. I finally stopped to re-review the other reviews here and attempted a third time. Leak. So I watched some YouTube videos. Well apparently fourth time is the try because - voila! - magically, no leak! I could not tell you what I did differently from the other three times. The only tiny nuanced difference – maybe – is that I pointed the filter arrow as little as possible below 9:00 (just past 90 degrees from locked position) to allow the filter to push into the slot, then pushed in gently while turning clockwise to 12:00 locked position. i.e., don’t orient the filter arrow towards the unlock symbol at bottom left of the filter slot. 2 stars because it does seem to work if you can get it installed correctly (and it does appear to be possible). Bad filter life
I’ve had the Samsung refrigerator since May 2023, and am now buying my 5th filter. Terrible filter life. After 3-4 months, it is down to a slow trickle. Extremely disappointed in the filter. I haven’t gotten anywhere near 6 months with any of them.

Don't buy a refrigerator that uses this filter
I have never had a filter so hard to install. My filter has leaked since the day we bought the refrigerator. I decided to check to see if the filter was installed correctly. It took over 30 minutes to get it back in and it is still leaking. It makes me want to get rid of my refrigerator which is less than 5 months old. No more Samsung refrigerators for me.

Does not Fit
I’ve tried two new filters and like many others have said it does not fit properly. The new filters do not fully lock like the original filter and will leak if you leave it in. **I have watched the YouTube videos and gone through the Samsung support pages so please do not respond with those weak answers**
