This filter and refill is a joke. The performance data sheet isn't provided. If it doesn't remove toxic chemicals, then there is no purpose. It claims to be NSF, but I don't see the performance data sheet anywhere for this model and replacement. Provide the performance data sheet for this model and replacement. This would alsonw the second time I have left a review as it appears the first one hasn't been posted.

i’ve already replaced the water filter. but for some reason the refrigerator is not recognizing the new filter. and i’m unable to turn off the filter code inside the refrigerator. i love sampson products. however with the difficulty of turning off the filter sensor after replacing filter i would not recommend

The Watts version of the filter was clearly designed by someone with no spacial physics knowledge. The 'finger friendly' curved grip gives you no leverage to turn it once it's halfway to the vertical position unless your wrist is double jointed. I can't even give the rest of the product any time for this review..when I had to use additional tools to twist the mechanism all the way.

I went to change the water filter in my Samsung refrigerator and no matter what I did it would not totally go in. I put the old filter back in and it works fine. Both filters have the same numbers on them, HAF-QIN/EXP, I bought a three pack, I tried another one and will not work either. So frustrating.

There were several complaints about leaks, but to me, this filter change was really easy compared to other appliances. I just followed the directions - which is not super convenient but worked. Shut off the water Drain the water line through the dispenser Rotate the filter counter-clockwise, 180 degrees Remove filter Insert new filter Push in while rotating 180 degrees clock-wise Slowly open the valve and refill the line Run some water through the dispenser and throw out. All done.

The filter is very hard to unscrew from the refrigerator. There is no way to unscrew it with your hand. The small handle slipped out of my hand. I had to get a 12 inch pair of pliers to grip it tight enough to remove and just as bad to reinstall. The water was off and the pressure released. I believe the refrigerator has a defective receptacle for the filter. I even coated the o-rings with rubber lube.

When the filter light came on for the first time, I took the existing filter out to get the correct number. At the time it seemed faster than hunting down the manual. The filter was very difficult to take out, and put back in. We finally managed to muscle it back in. This should have been our first clue we had not done something correctly. Within a few minutes of walking away, and thinking the filter was properly re-installed, water was running onto the floor. Thank goodness we were home to pull the filter back out, which stopped the leak. What a mess! The two bins beside the filter and the flex bin in the middle drawer had to come out so we could reach to remove all the water pooled inside. OUR RESOLUTION TO STOP THE LEAK? Turn the water off and drain the line to release pressure. Filter went back in without any problems and no leaking when water was turned back on. I wish I had taken the time to READ THE MANUAL BEFORE CHANGING THE FILTER. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration had I done it correctly to begin with.

I read the reviews. I knew what I was getting myself into. And still I thought: “surely, I can install this filter without it leaking!” Oh how wrong I was. I am astounded by how easy it is for the filter to be installed with significant leaking, and how little difference there is between “correctly” installing and “incorrectly” installing. I am fortunate that enough people have posted about the leaking problem that I at least knew to look for it. So after my first attempt yielded heavy flow into my cheese drawer (which I pompously neglected to empty a priori), I quickly stopped and removed the filter. (And thankfully Samsung designed this so there is no flow when the filter is removed). Second attempt: massive leak. I finally stopped to re-review the other reviews here and attempted a third time. Leak. So I watched some YouTube videos. Well apparently fourth time is the try because - voila! - magically, no leak! I could not tell you what I did differently from the other three times. The only tiny nuanced difference – maybe – is that I pointed the filter arrow as little as possible below 9:00 (just past 90 degrees from locked position) to allow the filter to push into the slot, then pushed in gently while turning clockwise to 12:00 locked position. i.e., don’t orient the filter arrow towards the unlock symbol at bottom left of the filter slot. 2 stars because it does seem to work if you can get it installed correctly (and it does appear to be possible). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With off-brand filters, you are not sure if you are filtering your water or contaminating it. With Samsung, I trust that only the finest media and containers are used in all of their consumer products. The filters last up to six months and there is never a question about water quality.

I recently purchased a water filter, installed it about one month ago, and ALREADY need a new one. I am terribly disappointed. I bought the refrigerator over a year ago and the original water filter worked great…now it tastes terrible and the “change filter” light is on. Ridiculousness.
