It is so much quieter and I swear my clothes are cleaner with using the same cleaners! The controls are easy to use and I love the signals and melodies they play. I was able to upgrade my small laundry area with new cupboards and I sigh with glee and satisfaction every time I pass through the area.

I love that it weighs the clothes and between that and the settings you pick it tells you how long that cycle will be so things don't get wrinkled sitting there.

It has a great refresh cycle, which gets a shirt ready to wear in 10 mins and gets all the wrinkles out. I'd recommend this to friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer/dryer tour ThinQ from LG is perfect. I was very excited to receive my washer tour to save room in my laundry room and it is perfect, I just needed some adjustment about the room organisation. The design is modern and sleek, I love the doors, so modern. The washer is kind of low but you get used to it and the volume is huge for both the washer and dryer compared to the ones I had before. A light, lights up the inside when you open the doors, it’s very practicle! The tour is connectable to the house wifi. This option is very nice as the machines are silent, it informs your phone when something happens (error message, end of program, etc). You can monitor your energy consumption from the app for both machines. As well as, ADD cycles from the app, for example the dryer has: overnight dry, antibacterial, denim, deodorization and many more. Some cycles the washer has, on the app, includes are half load, bright whites, beachwear, allergen, etc. Then you choose your preferences, send it to the tour, and with a simple click it is a go! The tour is very quiet for both machines, perfect with the remote learning situation. The washer and dryer are excellent (the laundry is so fresh and clean), I love all the different programs and you can adjust absolutely everything in a second. The washer and dryer even have sensor to warn you when you needs to clean the tubes ; And it sends you the notification on your designated device! For my first use of the dryer I just chose a cycle with the energy saver. The drying time was for 50 minutes ; i checked after 15 min and it was already done. So I looked up on the manual to see how to use the humidity sensor and you can’t use the humidity sensor as the same time as the energy saver. So for my next load I just used the humidity sensor and in 10 min my laundry was dry without me checking it. I am very happy with this compact tour. I have much more room in my laundry room. It cleans and dries very well with so many cycles options! It is THE new technology for your washer/dryer.

It's been exactly one year since we bought this washer/dryer combo and on top of saving a ton of space in our laundry room, it has been very efficient and easy to use. The machine has an excellent sensor system that realizes very quickly if your clothes are dry and stops the dryer to save energy.

I forget it's even running until I hear the pleasant chime letting me know it's done. I have a small laundry room so the tower helps to free up space. I love that that the dryer automatically sets to match what the washer was set at. Highly recommend.

This washer/dryer combo is beautiful and is great for washing large items. However for my typical laundry (cotton tshirts, underwear, nice jeans) I am still trying to figure out how to make it work as well as my previous washer/dryer combo. I with the typical loads I always use cold water and dry at low heat. (I learned many years ago not to put my jeans in the dryer because they will shrink in length over time so I line dry them.) I was surprised to find that the only preset wash program that is suitable for my tshirts and tops is the delicate cycle as it is the only one that allows you to choose cold water. I am still trying to figure out the best Spin choice that will not leave the clothes too wet but not compress them so much that wrinkles are set in. As far as drying the tshirts and tops it falls far short of my older unit that this one replaced. First, NONE of the preset drying programs allow me to choose low heat; I have to use the app to download a Very Delicate program, and I would prefer not to have to use the app - I should be able to make choices in the presets for such a common usage. Second, my previous dryer offered a cool-down period with every heat level that tumbled the load with air only for about 10 minutes before declaring the load to be done. When I pulled the clothes out of the dryer they were unwrinkled and cool to the touch. This dryer has no such feature and even drying on low heat my clothes come out wrinkled; I need to experiment with setting different dry levels but I think that would just result in my clothes coming out damp. The Wrinkle Guard feature helps with not having to take the clothes out immediately but it doesn't make the wrinkles not appear in the first place. My biggest complaint is the amount of time it takes to dry out all of the gaskets to the washer's door after using it. Not only does the inside of the door and the outside of the biggest gasket have to be dried, but great care must be taken to dry the folds of the gasket in the door - there are two of them, and my fingers plus drying towel barely fit in the innermost fold. AND the door must be left open which pretty much makes the unit not compact with respect to the space it takes up. I only dried the inside of the door and the outer gasket plus leaving the door ajar the first couple of times I used it and that was not enough to keep it from having a strong mildew smell. So now I know that I need to schedule an extra 5-10 minutes to dry the washer after finishing the day's wash. Related is the filter at the bottom of the washer which apparently will need to be drained on a regular basis. This is the first time I've seen this in a washer and it is not an easy task. The little hose the comes out isn't long enough so to drain it I have to get a very shallow pan that is large enough to catch all the water or I'll have a wet floor. Another extra maintenance chore is the need to run a washer clean cycle. The manual says to do this once a month but I question whether I need to do it that often as I am a small household of one and I wonder if that frequency would be the same as for a large family. I really don't want to have to do this as I live in a drought prone area and my household water comes from a rainwater collection system. I've never had to do this with a previous washing machine and it seems like a huge waste of water to me. To sum up, my problems with this machine are: 1. The necessity to use the app to accomplish routine tasks 2. Lack of dryer choices which minimize wrinkles in the preset tasks 3. Lack of a cool down cycle (that I can find) with any dryer program 4. Washing machine should not have so much residual water which I have to clean out myself to avoid mildew 5. Washing machine should not need to be washed out on a regular basis (waste of water and electricity for hot water) and the filter should be easier to empty.

My kids insisted I get the tower because my wife (84, me 85) had to go down the basement to do washing. So the Tower came to my house. I have never been around a washing machine that works so silently, efficiently, and turns out clothes that are amazingly not only clean, but fluffy and soft like brand new. I am the boss of the wash day duty now and thrill to see how the pair work during the several cycles. The LG technology is just fantastic. I heartily recommend the product to any and all who want a space-age laundry marvel.
