Seemed great for 8 months, THEN, the base shock died and left me sitting on my ankles UNDER the chair... they sent me a new shock, I worked a little too hard to change it AFTER WATCHING videos to illustrate the repair.... in the 12 months, the seat cushion was reported as hurting my bottom side to the point it felt as though i was being poked.... all in all, it seemed fine, yet again in 12 months it is not OK... i do not know if they will fix it again but I do not have hope it will be anything but a problem and soon

After a month and a half of my wife using it for work, the seat has started separating at the seam!! When we first bought it, the handles were damaged. Called Serta and we we were sent new ones. But now the seat. Will return as others comment on peeling.

The chair is comfortable enough, but creaks and pops so much you can't move without this happening (I'm only 170lbs also). If you sit in this thing for several hours a day for work as I do, it starts to drive you nuts. I'm getting rid of it, and chalking it up to a poor purchase and will look for a more reliable chair elsewhere.

Ive had this for a year and have tried to love it but dont. The cushion seat itstoo much of a hump to the point where you cant sit in the middle without ending up to the left or right of it. The lock in bar gives a lot of play where you dont feel very stable. Im 5'8" at 135 lbs and by no means petite, maybe if I were larger I would enjoy the chair more. I can put both arms inside the armrest when I type and have plenty of room. Maybe youll like it, but as for me Im back in the market looking for a new chair.

I am 6', 200lb average build man. I feel comfortable sitting on a normal size chair. This chair is good if you're a robot who sits at a perfect 90 degree angle. Chair feels extremely stiff. Space you have to sit feels like I'm sitting on the edge of the chair. Comfort is similar to siting on wooden swing. Chair was easy 20 minute installation. Chair feels sturdy but if you plan on relaxing, leaning back and enjoy a movie take a pass on this Flintstone rock of a Chair. Ergonomics is not what they had in mind when they designed this Chair. Kids are already calling this grandpa Chair, smh...

It initially looked good for 2 months then it's sheet start damaging. I would say don't buy or buy a better one. I regret to buy it. My back hurt badly because of this. Now with in 6 month have to buy new one. I can't it return since it reached the return timeline.

This is the most comfortable chair. I have had three back surgeries so I really searched for a comfortable chair. I am going to school online so I spend a lot of time on the computer. The chair I had previously was really hurting my back. I have had this chair for over a year now. it has made such a difference. I can spend an entire day on the computer without any pain. It is so comfortable.It is also very durable as I have two teen boys who think its for rolling around and spinning in! I highly recommend it!

A few days after the 1-year warranty, the seam on the seat bottom between the first large bolster and backward bolster came apart. I bought it for my son who is 130 lbs and he is a college student who does not abuse things. Either Sam's or Serta (Innovation, what a name) will take responsibility for this poorly made chair. Breaks right after the warranty expired, the engineer must have done a perfect design, very unfortunate...

I am 180 lbs--honestly. After 19 days of use, I noticed that returning to sit back into the chair after having stepped away for a while, the cylinder (pneumatic lift) immediately sinks to it's lowest point. In other words, the chair cylinder is no longer working properly. The only way to fix this is to either get a new piston (chair cylinder) or a new chair. Otherwise, this is a very comfortable chair for a person who's not a "Big and Tall" kind of fellow. I am glad that I had purchased this through Sam's Club and will submit a warranty request.

When I first got it I thought it was awesome. However, very quickly the "leather" started peeling off and now, barely 6 months later, the seat came apart at the seams completely. This is after use by an 8 year old who weighs maybe 60 lbs. Very disappointed. Now I am trying to find the manufacturer number and hoping they will do something about this.
