problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] one major problem is where the settings board is located. It is on the right side when you open the fridge and if you are not careful you can accidentally hit the settings and screw the thing up, such as stopping the craft ice maker from working. And when this ice maker is working it makes this horrible loud noise before "dropping" the ice into the tray.

Nice fridge but lacking good handle placement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this fridge, the only dislike (which is why it only gets 4 stars) is the lack of/bad placement of “handles”. They are too low, seems they could have incorporated an actual handle on the face, as to not have the “handles” below the glass and dispenser. Inside is nice, although there’s only an option for top shelf to be moved up or down, the other shelves are permanent. The drawers at the bottom, handle placement could have been better. The lip to open is at the bottom of each drawer which isn’t bad for the top one. the bottom one is at the very bottom, not easily accessible.other than the handle issues I personally have, it’s a great fridge. Very nice refrigerator with great features

Bought this in April and enjoy most of the features. Opening shelves should have a marking where to grab shelf to open. I forget it's on bottom and the lower one is a far bend on the knees to open. Also changing from ice to water sometimes does work fast enough. Overall, it's a very nice appliance and looks modern and different.

Not good design!

We bought this for our new home, guess we didn’t research enough, who ever thought the large round ice “balls”:were a good idea, was wrong…..we make a lot of ice tea and ever since we’ve had this refrigerated the “balls” still have a funny taste even after disposing of 4 trays! Have even tried baking soda. The pull out drawers opening from the bottom are very unhandy. Chose this refrigerator because of the dispenser for the water, small cubes and crushed ice, no handles to open doors and it does seem roomy.

Craft ice disappointment

Great concept, poor engineering

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great concept with the craft ice maker. It is the reason we purchased LG. Unfortunately like with any new idea and product their are some shortfalls and bugs to work out. The Craft ice maker freezes up constantly and will not dump ice balls out. Water tries to fill again and overflows into ice bin making a solid ice block. Finally the ice maker broke after only 3 months because the mechanism that vibrates and bangs (very loud every night) to loosen the ice couldn’t break the iced up tray in order to dump the ice balls into the bin. Would not buy again. Maybe they will perfect it in the couple years. LG has come out and replaced the craft ice maker under warranty but I assume since its the same model ice maker it will continue with the same problems. Read many reviews with this same issue.

SMH craft ice maker

I love my fridge. I’ve had it just a little over a year. My craft ice stopped working five months after buying it. It broke again six months later. I’m wondering if I should expect it to break down again. If it breaks down again within this year sorry it’s gone. I drink a lot of whiskey and craft ice maker was the seller for me.

Worst product EVER!!!

Of all the refrigerators I have owned and used in my life, this one is the absolute worst! I’ve never required more service calls on a refrigerator in my entire life. Between both ice makers breaking down in under two years and being told by service mechanics that LG manufactured improperly tested and knowingly faulty products and sold them to customers is despicable! On top of that, the requirement to UNPLUG the product to reset it is most difficult for a disabled veteran or any customer with physical limitations. LG manufacturers computers with on/off switches yet they put a computer in a refrigerator and force customers to deal with their negligence. WHAT A HORRIBLE DECISION! I’ve had refrigerators 20 plus years that function perfectly without any issues. I still have a refrigerator over 24 years old that works perfectly in my garage. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG PRODUCT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! Nor will I ever recommend a LG product to anyone, ever!

Do not recommend.

Bought this fridge, waited 2 weeks for it to get to me for it to not work. I put stuff in it thinking it would work perfectly since it came to us new but instead it froze everything! I checked and it was set on 37 degrees which is manufacturer recommended setting. I turned it up to 43 degrees (as high as it will go and also not a safe temp for food) and I put a thermometer in it from my deep freezer to see if it was keeping temp. Within 20 minutes, the thermometer said 5 degrees with it set at 43! The freezer side was set to 0 per your recommendation and thermometer said it was -10, causing the water lines to freezer and be unable to produce ice or dispense water. This is the main purpose of a fridge is that the thermostat in it is accurate and functioning properly to keep food safe and fresh, it couldn't even do that. Returned this to the store and replaced it with a trusted brand.

The space & tech is just great; & I think it is really economical. There are only 2 items of concern: 1. The water filters are pricey unless you gamble on the cheaper versions 2. I wish the tray covers were very tempered glass or plastic. There's lots of stories where someone dropped something & that glass just shattered; & they are not cheap to replace

I bought this model about 6 months ago to replace my 20+ old side by side. It is sleek, works well, and LG customer service is easy to reach. I needed help on something simple related to set up and they were great. The one thing to be aware or is that the shelves cannot be adjusted, except for the refrigerator top shelf. The spacing accommodates what most people would store, but it does not allow for moving up and down.
