I've been using Turbo Tax for decades, almost entirely in the desktop version. Really loved it, and it was easy to use. One minor thing that I wasn't real happy about: when I was largely done with taxes and the comparison screen appeared, with my deductions and credits summarized, the column for 2024 showed 0s for items that usually go into my standard deductions. the 2023 column showed the values appropriately, and I wish that the 2024 column had shown this year's values, too, even if I was selected for the standard federal deduction. it made sense when I checked my Schedule A and found that the total of my deductions for this year was $32,159, so the standard deduction did give me a bit of a break. maybe display the new tax year's values in another color, or font, or something? I was sure that TTax was correct, but I spent some time looking to verify that it was correct.

Program froze at the end of my 4th return, call customer service the young women I spoke with was excellent. I did not get her name, but she was out of your call center in Houston, TX. Very nice lady and very helpful. Unfortunately I could not find the license code for my original program of Turbo Tax and had to buy a new one. The program kept wanting me to update at the end of the Federal return but kept giving me a error code 1603. Loaded in the new copy and it recovered my old and working on return at the point I was at and everything is fine now. First time since 2002 that Turbo Tax froze on my computer like that.

I am a long-time customer of TurboTax, and frankly, I'm very disappointed with this company. I have difficulty understanding the instructions, and I had to pay extra for the State e-filing. The add-ons and additional fees are excessive. Also, there was no audit protection this year like prior years. I hope that TurboTax becomes more consumer friendly and stops charging for so many additional add-ons and expenses. I will not be using TurboTax in future years.

Does not provide accurate information when the individual is a non-US resident. In my sister case she is a no-US resident that lives overseas but has a money invested in an annuity in the US. She recieved a 1099-R from money she withdraw form that account. The software assumes she need to declare as a US resident, even though I stated she is not.

TurboTax help workers were patient and helpful. The design of TurboTax could improve so users who understand how taxes work could find information such as documents that were used in calculations. Also it is not easy to find where to enter estimated taxes that were paid, not easy to find how to give instructions to apply refund to estimated taxes.

DID NOT GIVE OPTION TO JUST COPY PREVIOUS YEARS INCOME, WHICH WAS ANNOYIING. tHIS IS FILED FOR A DECEASED INDIVIDUAL, INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT GIVEN OF HOW TO FILE WITHOUT A COURT APPOINTED REPRESENTATIVE, HAD TO GOOGLE IT. BUT, TURBO TAX DOES FIGURE OUT TAXES BETTER THAN I COULD., NICE TO HAVE Y'ALL DOING THIS.

I liked using your product most of the time but found all the frequent times you tried to upsale me on a product I already paid for distasteful. I also did not like the additional $25 State e-file fee (you should offer a product that includes both state and federal e-file as a package).

I have always loved Turbo Tax and how it walks you through everything. I was a little flustered this year with having to buy digital since they stopped making the discs... I wish they would have just sold a flash drive to launch from, but I got there in the end with the download.

Turbo Tax 2024 does not allow you to e-file federal tax return and mail state tax return. In order to mail the state return you have to e-file the federal return and then go back and lie to the question about whether to mail your federal return. You then can print the instructions to mail your state return. Once you have said you are e-file the federal return your only choices are to e-file your state return now or later.

It used to be easy to use but this year there are challenges. It freezes up. I tried to get a W-2 online. When I decided not to do it that way I had to restart my computer to close out and lost everything I had entered. I may try something else next year. The jury is still out.
