I like how it works, except... I am on a MAC and this year for 2025, I could not get it to print my return. It was not my computer or my printer. I looked online and found a way to do it through the preview option, but that was very awkward to find. Trying to print my return the regular way totally locked up the program and I had to reopen it. Also it said I had entered my pin, but had not entered the one from the IRS. I didn't know that was different from the e-file pin and I had to look up online (google again) where to enter that and refile my return. Also, for 2024 Michigan return, the program did not provide Michigan with a schedule W. I don't know why, but it delayed my refund for months. Still, I like the program. :) And your phone support is excellent! Very knowledgeable and easy to understand people. Thank you! (I spoke with Paula and Latoya. Both were awesome!)

I've used your SW for years. It could be more user friendly. I had to use AI three times to locate Turbotax forms and input sheets to make changes. Turbotax should have the ability to do that as well as AI can. I ask TUrbotax where to locate such and such a form, and it responds it has not knowledge of that form and I should ask my tax professional. AI took me to the turbotax list of forms on Turbotax and told me how to delete it.

Turbotax Deluxe is very good. Have used it since the '90s. However, changing a number is a pain because of all the screens one must go through to reach the desired screen. Schedule C in particular. Thank goodness for the "Forms" entry rather than "Easy Step"

Have been using for years. However, emphasis on on-line version exposes my data in ways that the individual version does not. Also this year's version does not have the boxes that open and allow you to list several items that then are added together for final total that goes into return. Had to use my computer's calculator app which was a pain.

The original download went so poorly that I had to file for an extension. When I downloaded later in the year, it worked. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of the new format. It was a little less straightforward than the previous years, but I was able to adjust.

Poor use of screen space. Inattention to accepted interface features e.g. icons that look disabled but that can be selected. Lack of links between form data and interviews, so it is hard to track how an entry in a form came to be. Inability to zoom in our out (scale the view) of the form. Cannot enable and disable entered data so that the effects of entries on the taxes due are harder to understand. Help that points to FAQs with inadequate search abilities.

I normally would say wonderful, but our 2024 taxes had an error from turbo tax and now we have to pay interest & fees on income that the IRS claims that we did not report but we did. The turbo tax app deducted that income so now we are stuck with those extra fees. The final check said everything looked good before filing. When reading the FAQ, it says that turbo tax is not responsible for interest & fees. I do not feel I should be held responsible for those fees since I did claim that income.

Finding the product desktop download was a nightmare. The 1099 DIV section was clunky and the first time i imported my info from last year...it wasn't there when returned. Oh, and i had to enter the install key the second time i tried to work on my tax return...other than that it was great.

Been using TurboTax for as long as I can remember, but this is the last year. The main reason is how poorly it handles K1s. There shouldn't be a reason to create a second entity to handle the QBIA for a subsidiary, it should ask for that information as part as the primary entity and do it for me. It also fails to ask about completing the K1 tax basis information. You have to go into form mode to do that. When doing the SC State return it calculated the wrong add back amount for the out of state K1 entities. The software never changes other than handling new tax rules.

Guidance is very poor. Much of what is advised is unclear and the examples provided seem based on limiting TurboTax liability rather than providing meaningful information that helps people who struggle to understand taxes. It is also unfathomable in this day and age that TurboTax can't automatically perform auto calculations such as simplified methods when a CSA-1099R is uploaded.
