TurboTax 2024 would not run on my Windows 11 Pro laptop not matter what was tried. Crashed from the first installation and every reinstall after that and including installing super patches and compatability mode. TT2023 and TT2022 installed and run fine on Windows 11. TT 2024 ran great on a Windows 10 Pro workstation so I had to use that computer to do my taxes this year.

I've used Turbo Tax for many years, and this version of Turbo Tax is the worst! Multiple problems with the software, including the simple task of submitting my federal taxes by e-filing. System said We're experiencing internet transmission problems and transmission did not go through. Called help center and she finally told me to get out of Turbo Tax and shut down my computer, then restart everything. FINALLY got it to accept my return! On top of that, turbo tax would not let me file my Ohio tax return electronically. I said I had Other Ohio Withholdings but no associated income document entered in Federal return. I asked a professional tax preparer about it and he said "never heard of it. must be a turbo tax thing". So, I had to physically mailed my tax documents to Ohio Dept of Taxation. In this age of electronics, this is absurd!

Every year it seems you guys cannot get it right. Simple data on old taxes like last year tax owed should be automatically populated. One can't send only state tax for efile. Why? One can do both or just Fedeeral but not only the state. Called in after 1/2 hour trying to do such only to find that one sends BOTH and the progran will detect the previous Ferderal filing. Really? You can't make it so when filing the little blue box with the check can't be unchecked for Federal. You can't let people know to send both? You waste MY TIME and your employee's. I only use this program because of previous years.

I have been using TurboTax for over 10 years. I love this product. This is the 1st time that it has given me an error message, detailing that I must file by mail for a $0 entry that it calculated for me for claiming an energy efficient deduction that I did not claim. So, knowing that being perfect for everyone 100% of the time is a stretch, I thought I'd try to make you aware of this issue.

The step-by-step feature is always excellent. TurboTax seems to always have the most up-to-date questions and knowledge of recent tax code changes all of which help get me the most deductions possible. Last but not least, appreciate the ability to import tax forms from various financial institutions saving me lots of time from having to manually gather all the forms and typing the information into the correct forms and places on the forms.

I've always use Turbo Tax for the past 20plus yrs. It has always made filing taxes so easy and I love it. I helped many of my family and friends file their taxes too. When you are using Turbo Tax it makes filing your taxes super easy! Absolutely nothing to be afraid of!!!

The most annoying part of doing my returns in TurboTax is that each time I revisit a topic to add or correct information, I have to go through every one of the screens to get to the place where I need to make a change. I also despise the state returns. They are clunky and I'm not always sure I'm getting the correct results. For example, I live in NM, but I cannot use TurboTax to file my NM return. I have a business with income from multiple states, and I am required by NM law to apportion that income between NM and the other states. This option is NOT available in TurboTax. The only option is to allocate my income and to receive a credit for taxes paid to other states. While the correct worksheet (PIT-B) is in TurboTax, it cannot be edited. There is no way to choose the option to use this worksheet and no input form for those worksheets. When I used the allocation method in TurboTax in the past, I received a notice from NM that I needed to amend my return and switch to the apportionment method. Fortunately, I can file my NM taxes online with the NM Taxpayer Access Point. I don't expect TurboTax to ever fix this problem. Even the big tax software packages (ProFx and UltraTax) don't get everything right for NM. I also resent the constant upsell offers that seem to guilt-trip me into paying for services I do not need. I am a CPA and I do not need TurboTax Live or Audit Defense. I also do not need anything more complex than the Deluxe version of TurboTax.

After completing federal return and getting the Turbo Tax clean bill of health with zero due so I transmitted my 2024 federal return. Three days later an update to Turbo Tax was completed (2/20/2025) and now the federal return shows $499 tax due related to form 5329.

Overall, very easy to use, especially if having used software previously. Very streamlined. Only real complaint is it would be nice to know how much something needs to be in order to claim it (for example charitable contributions). I find myself spending quite a bit of time listing all my contributions only to see no change in my status. Same thing for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Other than that, TurboTax does a good job of having help/info tabs on items I wasn't sure about.

I have used Turbo Tax to file for over 30years. It has always been easy to file, and I love just being able to answer the questions and the software will prepare the proper and required forms to be filed. I have had some years with very complicated situations, but I was able to navigate them easily. I have only had to ask for online help once.
