Turbo Tax is a mediocre product. It offers little insight into tax calculations and only very basis information on how to complete tax documents. In some cases, understanding how to complete a form is near impossible. One example is the K-1. In other instances, correcting mistakes is impossible. For instance correcting a minor mistake with data from a 1099 Div form was impossible. I accidentally put in the wrong number for foreign dividends earned.

#1. I was charged $25 twice and was told one charge would be credited. It never was. #2. I changed my return to delete one dependent, which increased my taxes. I had already set up payment to AZ for the original amount and was not able to make only the additional tax payment when I changed my return. #3. I have to change my computer (IMac) to Full Screen in order to see the top and/or bottom of some pages.

Overall experience was fine but upon transmitting tax forms to Fed and State received an transmission failed response (said I needed to update TurboTax. Followed instructions 3 times with same result. Finally exited TurboTax and reopened which asked to update. After reopening TurboTax the files transmitted.

Turbo Tax Deluxe was easy to use and nicely laid out. Most questions were straight forward. The downside "TurboTax's digital assistant" needs work. I had two issues, where to put my car property tax and the medical milage. A phone call to help desk was answered on first ring and the problem was quickly solved. I believe my simple question's answer should have been available on TurboTax's digital assistant.

Make sure you pay with a credit card so you don't have to pay an extra 40 freaking dollar "processing fee"! Had 18 errors when I imported my fidelity stock forms. What's the point in having it import it for me if I just have to go and fix everything myself anyway.

Problems occurred: 1) Pages were sometimes too large to fit on my screen and “Continue” or “Back” (which were at bottom of page, couldn’t be seen.) Had to adjust screen resolution on my computer to continue. 2) In the middle of entry, I realized I had entered info on the wrong line. I tried a cut and paste and the program froze up. I had to exit and return and then re-enter data.

Needed to speak with a representative when the program didn't recognize the school district code for Brown County even though it was listed. The representative was pleasant and helped me. It was frustrating that the solution was merely to log off and log back in. Especially since I had just downloaded the program 2 hours prior. I do like that Turbo Tax makes it easy to pull personal information from the prior year and downloads W2 information.

I find tax form processing and filing for both State and Federal returns using Turbotax is less daunting, more pleasant and timely. Also, the support staff responds quickly, respectfully and kindly as exemplified by your technical expert Anthony; his assistance today, 04-16-2025, via your direct contact 800-446-8848 was invaluable. However, I think your CD software download process is easier to use than the online arrangement. Thank you for your kind consideration of my comments.

I had 2 new 1099 Int accounts and TTax helped me add them, through Import. This year's import went smoothly, last year was a nightmare. Also, most of my questions were answered with the pop-ups. But TTax made a mistake on my retirement, thinking it was was part of my RMD. Once I fixed it to a regular monthly income it did go back and ask me the right questions. In sum, I had to learn a few new things and TTax helped.

I love Turbo Tax. This year something did mess up when I went to convert my information over from last year. It was fine though I just started fresh and no problem. I will keep my 5 stars due to the ease and the fact I have been using Turbo Tax for many years without added stress during an already stressful process.
