Last year was my first year using it and I was very nervous that I would be successful. It was easy to use, step by step and intuitive!! This year is even easier as it loads in the information from last year, allowing you to save time and not re-enter everything, along with verifying what is similar to last year and what is different, in order to check it!

In order to change my property tax amount, I had to go through the interest paid to lender menu. A totally stupid idea. You should have noted this somewhere. There were other data entries which hardly anyone in their right mind could figure out. I have used TurboTax and other Inuit products for more than 20 years. Each year it improves in some areas and gets worse in others.

I've used Turbotax desktop for over 20 years, and the changes to the UI this year in the areas of interest, dividends, and investment were horrendous. Anyone involved in designing this, approving it, and the (obvious) complete lack of beta testing with real users SHOULD BE FIRED. When I say I want to work on one of those types of forms, TAKE ME TO THE LIST OF THOSE FORMS I'VE ENTERED SO FAR. It was incredibly difficult to (1) enter the data in the order I wanted to enter it, and (2) find what I'd already entered later to either continue entering/make updates/check the accuracy. Sometimes the entries seem to have disappeared. Go back to the old UI - honestly, if it looks like this again next year, I'll just be getting a refund and moving to a new platform. It was MUCH harder to do my taxes this year. You are driving me away to other vendors after many years as a customer. Very, very disappointed in the 2024 desktop deluxe version.

Software is not always intuitive and difficult to navigate between options and tax advice provided from the help isn't as simple to help customer understand and to determine what to select or how to respond in order to proceed with entering information.

Issues as usual. Had my returns rejected by the IRS twice, selected "no" to claiming both of my children on my return to, "waive my right to claim to allow my child's other parent to claim them as dependents". Then I have the returns rejected, saying someone else has already claimed them as a dependent on their return.

I love the product and have been using it for years and would normally give it 5 stars. However, this year, it didn't walk me through the schedule C worksheet. I had to go back and forth to fill it out as the errors popped up during smart check. In the past, the questions popped up as I went through the initial process. Not sure if this has to do with the new 1099-NEC form, but thought I would mention it for other users who have schedule C.

It has been more difficult this year because of the download. I am not the sharpest when it comes to computers so the download was hard to master for me. I like the disk because I can hold it in my hand and put it in the computer that way. My review as a 86 year young Turbo Tax user that has taken lessons on the operation of computers at a local community college, I left more confused than I went in. Just not my gig

I've been using TurboTax for more than 18 years. This version for tax year 2024 was the worst I've ever used. It was tedious and difficult to use. Many of the questions asked during data entry could have been picked up and prefilled with answers from previous years. This year, I downloaded my 1099s from my financial institution instead of manually entering them as in past years. That went surprisingly well, and I was impressed with the speed at which the information was downloaded. However, TurboTax then reported that I needed to review and update several files. It prompted me to download the files again when I tried to edit one, which I did. Now I had three copies of every file! I finally figured out the program had downloaded new files instead of updating the existing files carried forward from the previous year. After I deleted the old and duplicate files, I was able to proceed. There should have been a warning or notice to delete previous files when downloading new ones, or the program should have updated existing entries. Entering data in the income sections was tedious, having to scroll down to the next section to work on. When working sequentially down the sections, you should be able to pick up where you left off, not have to go back to the top of the page. All went well after that until I tried to pay for e-filing the state return. The window with the billing information could not be resized to display it completely, causing the action buttons at the bottom to be under the task bar, and the window was too narrow to display entirely. I couldn't tell how much the audit service cost or opt out of ordering it. Assuming the highlighted button was the one I needed to press to continue, I clicked the top edge of the button, but it took me back to the top of the screen. After a few tries, thinking I had the wrong button, I went to Windows settings and hid the taskbar to allow the button to appear and work. I suspect being 90% overlaid by the taskbar rendered it unresponsive because the active area was too small to be clicked. Now that the horizontal scrollbar was visible, I scrolled over to see the charges and placed my order. What a pain to use!

Easy to use and determine the best options/selections to make for filing your taxes. We are long-time users of TurboTax and between this product and Quicken, the automatic downloads from banks, brokerage houses, etc., filing our taxes seems to get easier each year.

I had a little more difficulty finishing my tax returns this year. Several areas needed my attention at the end, as I had not been asked about some details. I also had problems paying Intuit with my credit card, as the software did not recognize my 10/2025 expirations date. The choices started at 2026. I had to switch to another credit card.
