This was the worst version of Turbo Tax that I've used since I started using it in the 1980s. From the moment I started and had to transfer information from my brokerage account, I knew things weren't going to go well. The way the information was downloaded, I didn't know it even happened. Because of this, it was downloaded multiple times and added in to the return multiple times. There should be a way where you are simply asked if you want to take the standard deduction without having to enter anything. At the end I was put into some kind of loop where I was asked a question, I answered it, and I was asked the same question again, I answered it....and around I went. Turbo Tax has always made filing easier and faster until this year.

The only defect I noticed this year was that even though last year's return as filed (2023) included a Form 7203, the TurboTax software for 2024 did not automatically include the form as a form which needed to be filed for 2024. Had to go to "forms" and manually provide necessary data since none was brought forward.

The product is great with, questions, an average person can answer. The problem for the average person is they are not computer strong. Before put a CD in follow directions.. This time to find InstallturboTax.com was complicated. Then to sign into Intuit, download program try to install program to point to enter license code took over 1 1/2 hours and every complication that could happen. The average person uses this and most I am sure are not computer strong. Will I use this again I have for 12 years or more. I question that s they are not computer strong.

LOVE USING TURBOTAX. That being said, my income sources changed this year and could not use the transfer from last year feature. Because as I had issues last year, if a section transfers and you delete a section that tranfers it causes an error. Also it was annoying that I had to hit continue 2 times throughout the return. Also a few questions about foreign sources of income required answering but were not caught until the final audit.

I had many time consuming problems with printing and e-filing. State tax forms assumed i would know answers to questions, unlike Federal forms that lead me through all the questions. I couldn't e-file New Mexico and got the note from Turbo saying there was a problem so mail return. New Mexico needed two PDFs attached and required e-filing. I've just mailed with copies of the PDFs and hope it is accepted. I've never had these problems with Turbo before.

Worked with Danielle on the phone during problems with the Premier version of TurboTax. Danielle spent a lot of time trying to work around the glitch and eventually got me on to Turbo Tax Desk Top and that was the best remedy to my issue. Thank you Danielle.

The data entry was easy enough and importing from banking institutions was great but I was disappointed that I couldn't access state forms at all. I had a credit that only applied to the state but wasn't able to access one to add to the filing or correct my final tax outcome so now the state will have to be done manually and mailed in. I feel like I was shorted by the product.

Federal software is ok but state software is not good. Michigan state should be clear that 1099-Q's entered on federal return for qualified educational expenses should not be entered in the state return. This should happen automatically if the 2 products are lined as they should be. Instead, it looks like you need to enter the 1099-Q's which would result in an incorrect return. My state return was delayed last year due to this error. Turbotax does not catch this error (still present in this year's software).

Program says that this product purchased today cannot transmit because it needs an update. I am directed to go to online tab and click update. I do and message is shown on screen that my program is fully updated and current. I attempt to transmit and the same thing happens. I have already paid to file electronically and the program refuses to allow me to do so.

Good experience overall. However, Turbo Tax hides the amounts between itemized and standard deductions. Very frustrating to have to go to the forms to get this info. It would be good to know, when spending all the time to add in the itemized amounts, that I'm either very close or not at all close to the standard deduction amounts in these cases.
