There were for the first time a number of problems. First the Required Minimum Distribution had problems with some of the pages. Secondly, the Colorado Use Tax form was not supported. You were required to file a separate tax form and pay any use tax on this form in addition to the State tax form. This did not happen in the past years for any of the noted issues.

Software easy to work with, and complete return. Still several bugs in the Arizona Tax Credit software where they show the charity number under name, but that should be minor. Biggest problem was after returns completed and checked and filed, I could not print out either the federal or state returns. I was able to print out other related items, but not the return.

Worked well but calculated a penalty that I did not owe. The program seems to assume equal payments for all income after answering that my spouses pension was paid on regular intervals. Since I take IRA withdrawals as needed my income is not periodic. The program seemed to assume all income was periodic and calculated a penalty due to underpayment of taxes. Did not see this until I printed the return the program did not seem to notify me that a penalty was incurred. Searching online designated how to correct the problem.

your trying to make Turbo Tax usable by everyone is making the program more difficult to use by those of mus who have been using your program for years. Also, the program said $20 would be deducted from my federal refund for state filing but the filing page says it was free! Finally, those of us who have no intention of upgrading a perfectly functional computer should be able to use Turbo Tax in the future (as I have for the past 10 years) it should not be difficult to make a version of the program that works with Windows 10!

1) Could not initially install Turbotax download on my computer because Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package was corrupted--took me two weeks to figure out how to fix it before I could install Turbotax. Never had this problem with the DVD version of Turbotax. 2) Should tell taxpayer his/her standard deduction before asking about itemized deductions--because of SALT limit of $10,000, more taxpayers are well below the standard deduction now.

Having used TurboTax for over 10 years in multiple states, I'm still very satisfied. My one suggestion for improvement is the major warnings that still exist when filing in a state that doesn't have state income tax. TurboTax implies that you should not proceed without filing state income taxes, yet it should know that based on the information already given there is NO need for me to file in my state (Florida). Yes, I know there are potentially circumstances that would make it so, but that is not the case and the warnings are too aggressive in my opinion.

I found it very difficult to get the updates to work. And every time I went out of the program it was very difficult to get back to my return. And it kept asking me to fix things with information that was already on the forms. And it crashed a few times. And it had not saved the information I had entered already.

It is not as good this year. It lacks reliable guidance especially in filing. and in completing Form 8606.It is nearly impossible to make changes. I have wasted hours, no days, and weeks with it this year.. You need to get customers to review changes before you final them . Your directions are as bad as IRS./

Turbotax has worked very well for me for more than 20 years. This is first year I've had a problem submitting my return electronically due to a problem with the program. The problem occurred when I answered the questions regarding my withdrawal from my IRA. When I entered the part of the distribution that was an RMD the program would not let me submit my return. I had to enter the total amount of my withdrawal to get my return submitted. One of your senior agents said that's what the program required me to do. If that's true, then why even ask the question? That makes no sense. I think you have a minor bug in the program which over all is an excellent program.

Constant issues when opening, updating and saving Turbo Tax 2024. My internet is working fine and fast. However, TurboTax says it isn't. I tried to email Turbo Tax with the error code, but that didn't work. Not a pleasant experience this year. Also, TurboTax is charging $25.00 for a direct deposit for state tax refund. Pass on that.
