Turbo Tax is easy to maneuver and has available assistance when needed. They are comparable to doing them with any other service, except my "reward" tends to be greater in the end. Their accuracy and available help is comforting when hitting that file button.

All in all TurboTax is one of the easiest tax programs to use. I know that you are covering not just Federal Taxes but State Taxes also. It is an overwhelming job with constant tax law changes. But my biggest problem is when I select a line item for more information I don't get much help or I get the wrong Info. For example the State of Virginia Deductions for married couples became $17,000 this year. I clicked help and it said it was $16,000. I started to override the $17,000. But I googled it online and this year it was changed to $17,000. But most of the time help for a line does not show me anything pertaining to that line.

There are 2 MAJOR flaws in TurboTax. 1. You cannot change the font size in the interface on the desktop version. (I'm not asking for tax form font, but all the questions you ask.) 2. You do not ask for the IRS Identity Protection PIN during the filing process. Only after getting rejected did I do research and find that I need to manually add a form for the IP PIN. You should ask if I have one during the filing process!

I love Turbo Tax!! I started using it about 10 years ago. I am older and I had always paid for my taxes to be done prior to that because I was afraid of doing something wrong. I am not part of the fearless younger generation who grew up with computers and almost seem to be born knowing how to use them. Turbo Tax walked me through everything and I have never looked back. I highly recommend Turbo Tax!!

Turbo Tax works great until I try to E-file. I get all the way through entering my personal information and entering a credit card to pay my tax due, then the program gets stuck on my address. I can't move the screen down to hit a continue button (or something) and everything freezes up. So, I have to go back and give up on e-file and mail my tax return the old fashioned way. This happened last year also. When will you fix t his problem??

The software is fine until you need to move around it. Then, it becomes a nightmare. Entries are erased, and need to be re-input., data lost etc. It's fine if you can go through from the beginning to end without needing to move around. Otherwise, it is not user friendly. This has been an issue for at least ten years. No improvement. I understand you need to concentrate on the changes in the tax code each year. However, your base software is outdated, and clunky.

Income tax is a nightmare. Getting the TurboTax software onto my computer started the nightmare and it didn't get any better as I progressed through the process. Then there was the final ordeal... trying to get TurboTax to actually submit my two returns. The hidden fees didn't help. It used to be a lot easier.

I would normally rate this 5 stars. This year I was submitting 2 state returns and I found it disconcerting that the import did not allow me to see/review what data was entered electronically from my W2 (especially tax paid) until the entire process was finished.

I had trouble with the state/local estimated tax payments section in the federal portion of the program. I entered the state portion of my estimated tax payments on the state page and entered the county portion of estimated taxes paid on the local page. However, on my state return only the state portion of the estimated payments appeared. I had to go back and reenter the county portion on the state page in order to have my estimated payments accurately appear.

It was a little harder to enter investment income this year. Each 1099 required multiple steps to land on the screen to actually enter the data manually, and it took more time than I recall in prior years. Also, the investment items that were returned from the prior year return to review still went through all those steps, then created a new record so the record created by carrying over the prior year had to be deleted. This update just didn't work as efficiently in years past. Still a fan, but liked the prior year version better.
