Desktop App is terrible, not recommended for new people. I saved it in a custom folder, the app. was unable to find the saved document. I spent two hours trying to find the saved document. As for the rest of the app. it is ok if no better tax software is available. I'm using turbo tax for the past 25+ years. there are still room for UI improvement.

Desktop 2024 Deluxe version. Does help enter taxes. May allow forms beyond Deluxe version. Fancier looking screens do not help. A couple of places had to read help and tax form instruction a few times to figure out what was meant. (do not recall, sorry) Entering Mutiple 1099-INT and 1099-DIV forms had too many clicks when a fairly simple list would have been great. Confused me when simple interest and investments are lumped together.

While still a little complicated the forms for my individual tax filing work pretty well. I'm extremely disappointed that the very few forms I need to file my trust would require me to buy an additional program for three to four times the price Plus the personal filing form. I continue to search for a better option than Turbotax For that part of my tax burden

Too many questions in "Easy Step" are hard to parse. Some of them need explanations. Re e-filing, the program said it would cost $20, but the amount charged was $25. Estimated tax forms were marked "Do not file. Form not final." Why not? I need the fiorms.

it was better with the cd version. without it this version kept getting stuck wouldn't let me go forward because if how you don't include the state filling even though it said one return was free. did not like it . just not as good we pay enough for turbo tax. if you sell it we should get a good deal.

1099-R Two Pensions, two RMD accts. This year, the program made unwanted selections and I had to go into the forms to fix. Also the RMD directions / termiology was worst this year. Also very unhappy that the program could not find the tax file 2023 to upload the boiler plate info, only the 2023 pdf was saved on my primary & backup drives which have files back to tax 2007. Tax file 2024 was verified at both locations. We'll see what happens next year..

Generally, the software performed as in prior years. An exception was that it took two attempts to pay for electronic State filing. First, the credit card processing page would not load. When it loaded and was completed and submitted, an error message stated it did not process and had to be submitted a second time. Annoying!

Two issues this year. Taxes from federal to state to loaded correctly and is known error on forums. Second, the business expenses on federal should stop saying needs reviewed (which is also a known issue) and show a message that stops users from trying to fix the needs review. Seems the 2024 has more frustrations than prior years.

Still makes filing easy. The one thing that gave me a headache is the advertising of their extra services within the program. Their software does the job of guiding you through the filing process, there is no need to sell "extra help" on top of it.

I've been a Turbotax user since 1997 and a Mac-in-Tax user before that. I completely resent the efforts that Intuit is making to lobby our government to protect their market position and discourage tax simplification. Further demonstration of Intuit's ill-will toward consumers was just demonstrated by the sly effort to add a $40 processing fee for premium service when I attempted to use a portion my federal refund to pay the $25 filing fee. I live near Intuit HQ and have friends that work for the compan. One notable tech company had a motto of "Don't be evil" and I am truly disappointed in Intuit's evil behavior.
