TurboTax processing of Forms 1099 could be better

Filling out all the forms and worksheets with information from forms 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B and 1099-R would be very difficult without TurboTax. Downloading those 1099 forms from Edward Jones, etc., was more confusing than last year and worked poorly compared to last year. The Colorado state forms for a non-resident were helpful but not complete. ,, hopefully finding a nickname for this review won't take too long.

Responsive to suggestions.

Ask too many questions. Many times I know what to enter. But I love your responsiveness to questions and errors. I noticed a glitch in dealing with RDMs across several IRAs and had a great conversation with a tax rep. I logged on a few days later and lo and behold a new question was inserted in the IRA dialogue to address this issue.

Easy and trustworthy

Been using it successfully for years, through changes from kids and mortgages to college to retirement. This software loads info from previous year and checks for new situations, so it's easy ad intuitive and makes me confident I'm getting it right. Organizing my records is most of the work; with guidance from TurboTax, I don't need to pay a pro to fill in the forms.

Confusing Data Entry, Printing Nightmare

Seems more confusing than prior versions. Entering earnings like interest and dividends requires navigating multiple screens and is designed for downloads rather than manual entry. Printing my return was a nightmare. Eventually had to dump onto Adobe Reader and print there. Understand many people had the same problem with printing. Why isn't it fixed? Will look at alternative software next year after more than a decade with TT.

Misleading software

I purchased the Deluxe Federal and State software version. My state offers free e-filing yet Turbotax charges $25 to e-file, even with this version of the software. It feels like a rip-off, even with the $10 credit. Shame on Intuit for gouging taxpayers.

Got 'er done, but a little buggy

MacBook Air, macOS Ventura 13.7.1 Problem with creating PDF for review prior to submitting returns. Problem with window going blank when attempting to "pay" for Audit Defense. I had already paid to file my state taxes, then I realized I could get Audit Defense for free as an Advantage member, so I selected it. When I continued, TT popped up the payment window (on-line). The Member Information was displayed briefly (maybe two seconds) then went blank (white). The only thing I could do was select Close. I went back, deselected Audit Defense the continued successfully. The handling of and help for Schedule K-1 (Publicly Traded Partnership, PTP) is weak and confusing. Form 8990 not included in Deluxe. Overall, it worked as expected, but with a couple of frustrating defects (problems noted above) and very inadequate PTP help.

No issue

Complete and easy to use. Constant up-dates insure all regulation changes are incorporated into any return. Biggest fault is the State of Arizona not accepting E-files. Not Turbo Tax issue but think Turbo Tax should apply pressure to the State to up-dater their tax system to accept E-files.

Turbo Tax is OK

It was ok. I was amazed that TT didn't have access to Payer's Fed ID Numbers (FEIN). It was frustrating not being able to find a FEIN for an interest received amount of less than $10. I spent waaaay to much time on that. My satisfaction with TT has slowly eroded over time.
