I have paid hundreds of dollars to have my taxes done by professional accountants. My first time going to a "professional" I over paid and the IRS sent me $1200 back. Another time I paid $200 for my taxes to be done. I would have gotten exactly the same return using turbotax. I have been using turbotax the last ten years without an audit.

Turbo tax is awesome! Very affordable, user friendly, and simple to understand. I value the option to let the software walk me through each category or to just enter them on my own, and I feel certain that using Turbo Tax helps me get the best refund. If you've been hesitant to do your own taxes, give Turbo Tax a try!

Would prefer options for larger fonts on a Mac. File/Open prior return brings up a second instance of program, but should use the just-opened instance. "New York" is spelled "New york Charitable Gifts Trust Fund." Program asks when you expect to file NY return before getting to e-file screens. Program says some NY forms are not finalized yet but lets you e-file anyway. Hyperlink in program to let user know when new forms are finalized returns an error on the invoked web page. Deleting an investment (e.g., 1099-INT) source returns an OK dialog that is not visible without scrolling, when there is a long list of investment sources above it. Privacy and other ramifications of "Free" Tax Audit defense is not clearly explained.

Other years I've thought Turbo Tax was very good but I was disappointed in your software this year. It would it not let me record my withdrawal amount from IRA, a little more than my RMD requirement. I had to intentionally put an incorrect RMD amount in the paperwork, saying it was the same amount as what I withdrew, to get it to e-file. Also I had it walk me through almost all the fields but when I went back and said I would do it myself I saw that some questions were not addressed.

The inability to locate topics is beyond frustrating. It feels like I'm begging the program to take my info, but it will not. It makes errors bringing forward data from TT from last year. Telling me my return is rejected for info you never asked for is ridiculous, let alone the uphill battle involved in finding and correcting the error. Definitely not worth my time to decipher and definitely not worth the price.

This is my second year using it. The first year was fine; although it did take about an hour and a half to go through everything. This year, I uploaded my w-2 and somehow it noted the same amount in box 19 as in 17. This caused my return to be rejected and I had to spend more time figuring out the error. It wasn't intuitive to go back and correct the error because although it said it's an issue with the number on the schedule a, it's not easy to determine where that information is pulling from in the step by step or the form view. I did finally get it completed though and did not opt to receive any support because it's additional $60 which is more than I paid for the program.

I had some issues with Turbo Tax this year. For years now, both me/my wife and our son/his wife have filed using Turbo Tax and never an issue. However, this year, when transferring returns for 1024 from 2023, the software could not find my return. I tried several times but in the end, had to start with my son's 2023 return, change the filename, and struggle through his data coming up again and again. Very tedious and so so unnecessary. Disappointing.

I submitted an error report because the Real Estate Tax and the Personal Property Tax sections of the Step-by-step program would not accept data. i finally figured out a workaround by going to Forms view and adding the data there. The tax codes may change after initial product release and I get that, but the basic program should work when the product is released.

I actually look forward to doing my taxes with Turbo Tax. But I have one minor request - I don't care for the change made this year for entering interest by signing on to the financial entity to download the total interest amount. Manually entering the data is a little klutzy requiring multiple screens, so I prefer the 'old' way to enter the interest details. For me, the new function would only work for three of the six banks I receive interest from because they don't have downloadable capability.

I've used this for years, this year I purchased it on line and downloaded it. Never again! it has been a total nightmare, locks up and freezes , very hard to maneuver. When I print copies some of the data is missing, some of it looks like gibberish. I'll probably buy it again next year but it will be in disc form. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still have issues
