It was klutzy!! I am a former tax preparer for a major tax preparation firm. I have used Turbo Tax in the last 5 years. This is the worst of the bunch! When I prepare my taxes I want to enter information directly on the forms. I like to navigate directly from the 1040 and AZ140 to the received statement input page. This version restricts the ability to skip from form to form. What I want from you are these: Do the math, generate printable forms, error check and e-file. I surely will file my taxes differently next year.

Your fee to file state taxes are outrageously high. Although I like turbo tax this is unacceptable and will be looking for a new tax program. We moved and I had to file in two states this year. Intuit in general is getting costly as I also have your checkbook program and you are driving customers away from your products. Lower your cost and you will get more customers.

Your program used to be great. I have used it for decades. Now, it stinks. It used to take my old return, auto-fill the information and go from there. No more. I have the plainest of plain-vanilla returns. There are no complications. Tried to e-file, and was refused because the forms weren't up to date. Not according to your program! And now I have to mail my Federal return in. Thanks for nothing, $70 down the drain.

I had previously been able to use the software before the end of the year to estimate whether I had withheld enough Federal and State taxes. I could make IRA withdrawals to cover any tax gap. Not this year. Also, I was able to "e-file" my state taxes apparently before TurboTax had the required updates. I received a very obtuse error explanation the following day, seemingly one created from an internal software error. No help, folks.

Have used this product for years. It's the first time I have ever had an issue with the program. The program (or at least the download I bought) had continuous glitches. I wasn't able to import last years information for the first time. And, I lost a complete return and had to completely redo the taxes. What a pain and a waste of time. Disappointed.

there is an issued with programming. For RMD there is a portion for dollars and cents that does not use rounding causing an error. The required RMD has the cents and the withdrawal rounds which looks like there was a withdrawal less than the required amount. In our case it was .02 and we were on the phone with Kevin for almost four hours on January 28, 2025. He was very helpful and tried his best. For a solution we went to the actual form and removed the .02 so the amounts matched which worked perfectly. Kevin was so patient and nice. A good learning lesson for all of us. You have a great employee. Thanks Kevin.

I have used TT for at least 30 years. Both this year and last, I noticed an increase in what I will call "bugs." Programming or networking hiccups, that I suppose should be expected, but it sure creates a number of issues, especially when advance, preventive information from Intuit could have avoided the issues. For example, a brief note to early filers that TT would NOT accept forms in queue this year, would have helped me. I got worried when I completed my return, tried to file, and couldn't. AND there was no message to say, "TT is not accepting files in queue until (FILL in THE DATE.)"

Every year when I file with turbo tax the State electronic fee and electronic deposit total cost isn't known until the very end. It should be up front when the decision how to file is made. $65 fee to electronically file and auto deposit is not known until right before transmitting. n

I had two problems this year with TurboTax (TT). First was an issue when I took distributions from 2 IRA accounts for the RMD for 3 accounts (I elected to cover the RMD for the 3 accounts from onlly 2 of the accounts). TT was unclear on how to handle that situation. The second issue was with entering my IRS PIN. I feel TT should prompt you to enter the infomation instead of having to remember to enter it and then finding where to enter it.

I've used TT for years. First time I've had issues with it. The basics are the same, but I couldn't find answers as easily. Instructions on the CA page regarding differing taxable amounts for Fed and State were ambiguous, because there is no reference to such an animal on the 1099R form.
