Average

Needs improvement - limited or no information on changes to tax laws for 2025, i.e., temporary 2025 standard deduction for seniors, overtime premium. No backup file option and no menu option to delete or remove tax return created in error, i.e., Save As creates duplicate file with custom name.

Not as good as before. Several bugs in 2025.

There were a few issues with 2025 Turbo Tax. Opening a new section resulted in several error messages BEFORE I had entered any information. TT kept insisting that my pension is Canadian, but it is not. State return didn't populate until I exited the program and restarted.

Turbo Tax has Become a Pain to Use

Turbo Tax at one time was an excellent way to file taxes. It has become a repository of sales pitches. Once easy to use, the program does not make it easy to correct rejected returns. It once did. Lots of screen prompts which lead to useless and dead-end solutions. I'm not a new to this program, well over a decade of use.

Turbo Tax 2025 needs a rework

I am a CPA who specializes in tax, and the software changes for TY2025 were confusing not only to me, but to my family members who called me in frustration. I spent significant time helping them over the phone as a result of these changes. My family stated they are inclined to try a different tax provider next year due to their frustration this year. PLEASE rework the TY2025 changes so that the software is more friendly to the average taxpayer. While trying to find answers to the TY 2025 software issues, I found that many taxpayers were experiencing the same issues. The most frustrating was the Schedule D digital asset check box not being selected and having to review each asset sale to select the check box. My sister had 134 non-digital asset sales to individually select. This is obviously a defect in the software. By the way, the AI to type this message is worse than aweful to use as it keeps correcting my typing, such as "te" rather than "the". Knock it off. AI is not yet reliable, and everyone in tax and accounting knows this to be true. ALL TYPO'S ARE COURTESY OF YOUR TERRIBLE AI MODEL.

Turbo Tax is Disappointing with upcharging

I have used TT for about 15 years. This year the software was attempting me to use on on-line version, which is where I started only to move to the more consistent desk top version. Also, I submitted by taxes and received a confirmation - only to receive a text indicating that I did not sign the return (which I know I did). I went back through the Intuit links to "correct" the error they said. The software has me resubmit payment information and tried to sell me multiple products and upgrades. In the end, the transmission would not go through because one was already submitted.

turbo tax is not a good product

THIS HAS BEEN A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE>>AT THIS POINT I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO WETHER OR NOT I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY FILED MY STATE TAXES OR NOT.. Turbo tax used to be a great product but it has gone down hill. Everything now is about upsale and additional charges...

DESKTOP TURBOTAX GLITCH

I SPOKE WITH 5 TURBOTAX AGENTS TRYING TO CORRECT A PROBLEM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO EFILE. THERE WAS NO DATA ENTERED THAT SHOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE PROBLEM. NO ONE COULD FIND A REASON FOR THE DENIAL. THE FIFTH AGENT, WHO THE OTHERS CALLED AN EXPERT, COULD NOT FIND A REASON FOR THE GLITCH EITHER. SO SHE DID A PROGRAM RE[LACEMENT WHICH SOLVED THE PROBLEM. ALL OF THE AGENTS WERE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS, COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

Outdated, missed info, issue with IRS IP Pin

It felt outdated and sluggish at times. Missed explanations at times, had to search for help online. When filing at end it asked for IRS IP Pin but only accepted 5 numbers when my IP PIN is 6 numbers. If my return is not accepted I will try to updated review to 0 stars, if they let me lol. Will look for other software next year.

Easy to use software, but had one issue

We e-filed our Federal return but wanted to mail our state return, however, the software would not let us do both. In order for me to print our state for mailing, I had to go back to File and select Print for mailing for both Federal and State. Then it did give me an option to only print state. The software does show that our Federal was e-filed, so we are good there. A lot of users will not figure out how to do this. We don't owe the state nor do we have a refund, so we didn't want to spend $20 for nothing.

Very Frustrated User

Interface and topic helps were awful and impossible to navigate. Program's help functions were useless. I sought phone help and two different women tried to help me figure out how to enter 1099-PATR information. First woman admitted defeat after 1.5 hours. We also could not get Intuit Meeting to work. The second woman finally figured out how to enter the info after 2 hours, but then we could not get Intuit Meeting to work either. I have used Turbo Tax for decades and navigating was intuitive, but no more. This was my worst experience. An extremely frustrated user of TurboTax Deluse.
