I've used TT for many years, and usually all goes smoothly. This year, though, there were multiple glitches - imported forms didn't fill correctly (left out data) - thank goodness for the real people in the help forum. Also, several times I got stuck in a loop where I couldn't continue to the next step. In fact, I had to delete my state estimated taxes after saying I'd pay through the NYS portal, b/c TT wouldn't let me go forward from that window. And now, typing this review, the (stupid!) AI "suggestions" are distracting and interfering with my typing. I'm still saying it's a good product, but will be disappointed if I experience same issues next year.

I TRIED TO ENTER MY CREDIT CARD INFO TO PAY YOU TO eFILE MY STATE RETURN BUT YOUR CREDIT CARD WINDOW DID NOT ALLOW ME TO SELECT EXPIRATION MONTH OF "OCTOBER". THE EXPIRATION MONTH SELECTIONS ONLY WENT AS FAR AS "SEPTEMBER" AND I WAS UNABLE TO ENLARGE THE WINDOW TO BE ABLE TO SELECT "OCTOBER". I AM NOT GETTING A FEDERAL REFUND SO THAT IS NOT AND OPTION TO PAY YOUTO eFILE MY STATE RETURN.

It seems like this year's version is dumbed down from previous years. In the interview process, entering contributions, for example, if the same details needed to be entered for several entries, it would only be necessary to add them for one or two times. This year it is necessary to enter same details over and over again. That is just one example. The process just seemed more tedious than in past years. I would have much preferred to be able to use the product on Windows 10 computers.

I found the product at times confusing and nonsensical. Example: after downloading info from my mutual funds, why did I have manually type in much of it, since the all the info had presumably been downloaded? And how to properly account for the foreign taxes credit was unclear, and I'm still not positive that I handled it properly.

Very archaic interface that hasn't improved in years. Poorly organized help function. Unable to sort my investments by different categories which took enormous amount of time to complete the Capital Gains forms. TurboTax has the information about when a security (stock) was purchased but will not populate the line items with it and requires a user to manually sift through transactions which is very poorly architected in this day and age of AI.

The interface and guidance were terrible this year, e.g. asking questions about 1099-R incomes that were never asked in previous years and no guidance as to what & why. I've used your product for many many years and loved it, bragged about it to others. I was so confused & frustrated with this year's version I may never use it again. Pity as you had such an excellent product. I cannot recommend it to others.

I had trouble due to the estimated tax payments from 2024 being carried forward to the 2025 return an I did not catch it until after 2025 was filed. I had to file amended returns for both the Fed and State. Also the 1040-V had $427 printed when the amount due was $900 after the estimated tax payment was corrected.

I had just about finished my Federal return when the program locked up. I waited for the spinning wheel to stop but it just did not. I had to force quit the program and all of my data was lost. I would recommend that for the desktop version that Turbo Tax would put a BOLD reminder to save the progress as you go along. Even better would be to auto save every few minutes.

I have been using TurboTax (MaxinTax) for almost 30 years. This year's was the hardest to use. Several "resources" were harder to understand than the reason for clicking on them in the first place. As I finished the task, TurboTax offered me the choice of receiving my refund by direct Deposit or Check. As always, I chose by check, understanding it might take a little longer to receive. There was no notice that the IRS had changed their policy on writing checks almost a year ago. I am still waiting for my check. I went to the TurboTax website to see if any notices were there. Since that time my email inbox has been flooded with "reminders" to file my taxes. Quite irritating.

Not great. Glitches and having to go back to beginning of section all the time. But the real issue was that they offer to send in the payment for you but if you foolishly elect that, you have no proof it was timely submitted to the IRS and you are exposed to interest and penalties. Do not submit via TT! Only go to IRS and state sites directly so that you avoid this expensive risk.
