Overgrown overstuffed too expensive

With "advances" in technology the interface has got way too complicated. Lots of hitches--thought I'd lost my return. The on-line vs. e-file vs. whatever is confusing, and with all of it still getting nickeled and dimed for huge fees for electronic processing that costs no one anything. At the beginning of it all, somehow I "automatically" paid for Turbotax this year so sorta went with it....but next year no.

Male Bovine Feces on with the upsell.

I have to trust your calculations are correct. I CANNOT STAND THE CONSTANT UPSELL. PS if you want me to respond beyond this, I will require payment, in advance. Unless I choose, I do not give out advice, recommendations for other information for free.

Hidden Costs

I think everyone would just like to know... the upfront cost to use software to complete their taxes. Most user must file federal & at least a state SO why not just put the full cost to cover a fully completed e-file for fed & state? I may just stop using TurboTax and switch to H&B. It's a bit much for most whom only file simple documents vs others whom have WAY more to file. *which I HATE to see the cost of that from TurboTax as well.

State E-file fee is taking advantage of customers

Making the calculations correctly is difficult for both me and Intuit, and I am willing to pay for that. Filing on paper is time-consuming for me, but the cost for Intuit to support e-filing in New Jersey (or any other state) should be very low. Charging a state filing fee comparable to the cost of the calculations, and portraying it as “only $25", seems like taking advantage of customers.

window too large

Difficulty every year when I have to submit a credit card to efile state return. The window asking for the credit card information is too large with the button for the next page unable to be seen. Every year I have to figure out what to do, which is remove my task bar at the bottom of the page, which is inconvenient. Please make this window smaller so the tabs in the lower right hand corner can be seen to navigate to the next page.

Worst Software Don't Recommend

Turbo tax has become some money grubbing up-sale empire. They tried to push me into their online product which did not work and failed to import last years taxes (from turbo-tax). I have used this software for many years and believe this will be my last.

Turbo Tax is okay,

There were several bugs in the software where Googling the issue had a work-around. Also, need better explanations when things like Education did not quality and does not tell you why. I would like a little more feedback during entries to explain how values are calculated and determined.

Good as Usual with Need for Clarification

To match a tax accountant's help in preparation ..... asking questions outside of routine that may apply to the average TT, that the average TT user might never think would apply to them. I bought a house in '25 and sold the primary '25 residence in March '26. That issue was not brought up clearly in doing the return. The new house (MI) looked like the primary residence in the return and had to find and add the real primary residence (PA) taxes to the return. Even though the primary residence address for '25 (PA) is listed on the return it was the new address treated as primary. That confusion should have been eliminated with a series of questions.

Not quite as happy as before...

Somehow you made it a bit more complicated than it needs to be or has been in the past. The E-filing is not good this year. Between the AGI and h format required for driver's licenses, I had go out and get more instructions outside Turbo Tax. I think I need to try another software next year and I've been with Turbo Tax forever.

GUIDANCE IS GOOD IN MOST AREAS.

GUIDANCE IS GOOD WITH A COUPLE EXCEPTIONS-RETURNING TO A PREVIOUS SPOT WHEN YOU NEED TO AND FIXING AN ERROR DURING FINAL CHECKING. ALSO, YOU NEED TO REVIEW THE POINT WHERE IT IS NECESSARY TO CLASSIFY A TYPE OF TEACHER'S RETIREMENT PAY. CURRENTLY THE "TYPE" IS TOO CLOSE TO THE "NAME" OF A CURRENT PLAN BUT INCLUDES A SIMILAR PLAN WHICH PAYS MY SPOUSE. YOU SHOULD HAVE A FEW OF YOUR NEWER EMPLOYEES GO THROUGH THE PROCESS BY JUST WATCHING SOMEONE NEW USE IT.
