Easy to use

The Turbo Tax program is easy to use, but my old computer crashed and I couldn't e-file because I couldn't get my AGI from last year's filing. I tried to get an account with ID.me, but it would not upload the pictures of my license. I am going to have to mail in my return. I have used Turbo Tax for over 12 years. I thought the program would pull my old information since I have used only Turbo Tax, but no.

Possibly My Last Year Using Turbo Tax

I was frustrated on several occasions with my Turbo Tax experience this year. I had to call CS because you let me download the software without paying for it, but required an access code to use, that I then had no option to pay to get. I tried the online version first and could not get some screens to resize so I could enter information because the enter button was at the bottom and I couldn't see/access it. I had the feeling that real people did not vet this software before sending out into the world. I will have to decide next year if the trouble I had is worth the satisfaction of doing my taxes myself.

Good program overall, been using it for years

I have tax forms from Canada and each year it is difficult to find where these tax forms are to be reported. Although there are some support answers, to my questions about filing Canadian forms NR 4 and NR5, I always feel that I am missing something that may cost me money. For example: reporting the Canadian Pension Plan amount, and the tax paid to Canada for my annual required payout from my Registered Retirement Savings. It always ask for my Canadian tax return, which of course I do not need to file, therefore, I do not get credit for paying the tax on my RIFF

Just mediocre

Removing it's deductible is a huge failure. Very frustrating and a decision that should cost someone a job or at least a bonus. The UI is mixed otherwise. At times it seems advanced but then you'll do the same thing in another spot and the UI is terrible.

no more upsell

hate constant upsell

Have used turbotax for many years and have found the interface is becoming less user friendly than previous years - example: when correcting errors I would hope that I could click on error message and be connected with error. I hate the constant attempt to up sell - I feel like I'm a car dealership - and being sold undercoating and some kind of exotic wax treatment after the sale has been made

Doesn't work on Windows 10 and is hard to install

The software is fine. The account system and actually getting it installed is nightmarish to say the least. The worst part of all is they chose to have the software not even work by making it incompatible for Windows 10, which is simply unacceptable. Not working is the worst case scenario. Make Turbo Tax 2026 work with Windows 10, having it not... is pretty much unforgivable.

DISAPPOINTED STATE FILE wouldn't direct deposit

It was a bit difficult to understand the FED 2210AI worksheet but I managed (in particular the Capital Gaines per quarter). My biggest complaint was not being able to get a. IL state refund direct deposited into bank account when I had EFILED last year, but you didn't know it.

Online and desktop version don't talk to eachother

I filed my return using the online version, then after I purchased the desktop version, I cannot file an amended return. It is the same service, although the online service wants an additional $69 to file the amended return. I am not happy about this.

Good, but needs improving

Generally, TurboTax is good and I've used it for a number of years. The one area the software needs improving: if you receive a housing allowance as part of a qualified religious organization or vocation, the instructions are not particularly clear on the proper way to record this on the tax forms. I needed to ask the community for help which I received, but one shouldn't need to ask in the first place.

Bring back ItsDeductible!

I have been using your product for over 35 years. I'm still happy with it overall, but I'm extremely unhappy that you got rid of the ItsDeductible charitable donation tracking tool and website. I've been using this for decades as well. It was a lot more difficult calculating my charitable donations manually, and the program was glitchy with groups of donations that were more than $500 in total, but in which no individual item was valued at more than $500. The program kept asking my for the "Donor's cost or adjusted basis" for the items, which should NOT have been required. I see that you added back a rudimentary charitable valuation feature for donations, which is better than nothing, but I really with you would consider restoring ItsDeductible in its entirety.
