I have tax forms from Canada and each year it is difficult to find where these tax forms are to be reported. Although there are some support answers, to my questions about filing Canadian forms NR 4 and NR5, I always feel that I am missing something that may cost me money. For example: reporting the Canadian Pension Plan amount, and the tax paid to Canada for my annual required payout from my Registered Retirement Savings. It always ask for my Canadian tax return, which of course I do not need to file, therefore, I do not get credit for paying the tax on my RIFF

I've also loved Turbo Tax, stopped using for several years while receiving 1099 to be on safe side so an accountant could guide us. Now that I'm w2 again, I'm so happy to go back to Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax asks you about EVERYTHING, and accountants don't. That is why returns can be better with Turbo Tax. Coming back to Turbo Tax, I realized that we lost out of money back a few years ago for new home appliances that would have qualified for tax savings, but alas, our accountant didn't ask or list that on documents to bring. So sad. I'm happy to be in control again, but with expert guidance against mistakes. Win-Win.

My wife and I have jobs and we get 2 W-2s and that's about it - so answering and following the questions here is pretty simple... just give your self 1 hour per day to do your taxes as I recommend that you read and answer every question... if you want to do it in one shot, it will take you about 3 hours.

I used Turbotax for more than 10 years. I usually print the returns and file by mail. This year I wan to try e-filling for both Federal and State but ran into issues and could not do the e-filling. The issue was the software asked for the zip code of the recipient which I provided correctly but the software could not continue and I have to return to my old method of printing my returns and file by mail. I paid $20 for state e-filings but because it was not able to complete, I wonder if I will get charged. If I do hopefully I can refund it.

For $80, they say you get to file in 1 state with turbo tax Federal & state , but they don't mention it isn't free. You still have to pay $25 to file. You just get to download one state return document for free... The same document the state is required to provide. Go figure. Turbo Tax is straight trash. Total scal

Turbo Tax is very accurate and informative, best way to accomplish an uncomplicated return. They are a bit pushy on the extras that they want to sell, but I have been able to accomplish the tax task with the turbo tax program for years, without needing any extras.

After using Turbotax since the 1990's, this is the first year I was disappointed. I had non-resident income for Michigan, and I was not able to download any of the tax forms for Michigan. Federal and Illinois tax forms were ok, but I will need to consult a tax account to finish the Michigan income tax

Filed 2025 Fed and State on 4/11/26 and received emails that they were accepted. This morning I received a text that "Your tax filing is incomplete. Sign in to finish filing." How can they be incomplete if they were sent? I got our pins and also paid for the state return. And, why emails for the first communications and text on the message this morning? I didn't on the link in the text because I thought it might not be legit. So, I signed in online, and my returns do not appear in the tax home - only 2024.

Guidance incorrect on result of Student loan interest deduction. When I was finished with the section, TurboTax advised that "It looks like Aimee (my daughter who is at College) does not qualify" yet the reasons provided in the "Here's Why" is incorrect: "- Somebody can claim Aimee as a dependent. . " (no, no one else can!), and " - There were no net qualified Education expense" (which there should have been), whereas the ACTUAL reason was my earnings were $180,201, just over the income limit for the deduction/credit.

Long time user of TT, mostly desktop ver. This year many users had trouble with an unexpected Canadian Pension Fund entry. Maybe it was something automatically checked, but there was no definitive solution that worked for everyone, and TT SHOULD have provided a solution. Hours wasted, Super Bowl ads annoyed me, no goodwill came out of this!
