I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR AT LEAST 20 YEARS. I AM A RETIRED ACCOUNTANT. MY LONG TIME ISSUE IS Turbo Tax entry screens (especially for itemized deductions) continue to diverge from the sequence and definition of the actual IRS Tax forms and IRS instructions.

2025 changes eliminated the tables for 1099R, Div, Int. I liked the table format better. It had more visibility and was easier to work with. TT has "dumbed down" the interface TOO MUCH! I want MORE visibility in WHAT, WHY, and Reason for how the entries are being handled. I want TT to provide MORE information on what it is doing with my entries.

Both my Federal and State returns were rejected due to the fact the ID PIN was missing! This was due to the fact that at no point in the process did Turbo tax request the PIN, nor warn it was missing during the review for errors. Given IRS was not forthcoming with the PIN, I finally found I had to log in to their web site to get it. I found the entry point to enter it and resubmitted the return.

The desktop version is far more not-user-friendly than previous versions from searching for help prospect. For example, in previous desktop version, when I typed PIN, it provided an easy access link for me to enter the PIN. Now, it directed to the website and also no easy instructions provided to where to enter the PIN. For another example, I searched "Where to enter 529 contribution in IL Tax form?", here folliowing is what I got from the TurboTax website (after I signed into my TurboTax account (which is completely not correct): Illinois does not offer a state income tax deduction or credit for contributions to a 529 college savings plan. Therefore, you do not enter 529 contributions on your Illinois state income tax return. You only report 529 contributions on your federal return if applicable, but for Illinois state taxes, there is no entry required for 529 contributions.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years using the "Guide Me" questions every time. This gives me the confidence to complete my return correctly. I do not have a complicated tax return, but I feel that I have done a good job in my entries getting me the best results possible.

Have used Turbo Tax in past with no issues but had multiple problems this year. First my the state part of my program wasn't working. The system even said everything was all set but the no state income that form generated. I went into help and it told me to restart everything so I did and it worked correctly. Then my e-filing was rejected and it turns out that I needed and IP PIN. Why was I not asked for this when I was filling out the form? Then why was this not caught when the program did my final review.

I love Turbo Tax. Makes filing taxes so much easier and convenient. I always trust their accuracy. And with guiding through your taxes and remembering what you did last year it's so convenient as it types in previous items like your income and deductions so no additional typing unless you add or delete items from the previous year.

Very disappointed that Turbo tax did not tell me that the federal return has to be direct deposit. IRS no longer issues checks for refunds. Now I have to create an account with the IRS and have multiple layers of security to enter the bank information. Its too much red tape for $77.00. You should have informed your customers.

I engaged with one of your Turbo Tax Live experts and the support was excellent! Although it took over one hour, Steve engaged additional technical support, and the 3 of us were able to clear up a very sticky problem with my tax return from 2023 which allowed me to finalize and submit my 2025 return. Thank you!

I have used, loved and recommended TurboTax for over 15 years. I appreciate the questions that guide me through every tax situation. Unfortunately, this year I was prompted to pay my state taxes by credit card (which I did) and then told when I wanted to efile that I could not use a credit card if I made contributions (wildlife fund, etc.) which I always do. Therefore I had to pay AGAIN in order to efile my state along with my federal taxes. VERY IRRITATING! Now the IRS has double the amount I owe and I will have to wait for processing to get he duplicate amount refunded.
