Would have been 5 stars, but when attempting to file, product failed validation and I had to wait until another update was available to download to clear. I was very happy with the initial software and the ease with inputting my information. I work in Philadelphia and my Philadelphia Local Tax Amount is very high. The software kept prompting me to fix my error but my numbers were correct. My NJ State filing was the same. I was not prompted to input my income and almost had to pay NJ state taxes after paying Philadelphia tax (double taxation). Even though i paid the Philadelphia Tax and entered the amount in the appropriate field.

The application is getting worse every year. This year it closed up opening several times. Also, my touch screen could not be used on several - but not all - screens. Clearly a programming issue. And a testing issue. As for tax calculations, I hope it is right. But why would you say I planned very well when I applied all of my refund to estimated taxes? I didn't plan all that well, so get over it. Also, filling in this survey, the "suggested review topics" keeps bouncing all over the place and trips up what I'm typing.

Desktop product interface easy to use with the forms feature. Most points are clearly explained, covering a variety of potential situations. They do a good job with the walkthrough for the most part. It was a bit intimidating the first time (I used to do it by hand and mail when my tax situation was incredibly simple), but this is now my third year using it now that I have a few more considerations, and I'm happy with it.

Even though I have used Turbo Tax for decades, I could not populate all of my personal data fro previous years. I had to re-enter EVERYTHING and cannot compare this year's return with any previous years. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! The when I had to print my return before e-filing, the program locked.

I calculated twice the Amended tax return, and TurboTax still did not show the Amended Return as it should be, just the regular return with the amount I owe, which I already paid when I submitted the original return. I submitted the amended return, which basically did not change the amount I owed and paid, and I still don't know whether the amended return showed this.

As always, TurboTax is excellent. This year, I got the Tax Expert option but didn't use it, because I didn't need it, but I loved having the assurance that it was there in case I did. As it turned out, all my thorny questions were easily answerable using AI and IRS publications. But in the process, I realized that many taxpayers are not so lucky - that there are much more complicated situations than mine, and that having experts on hand to help sort things out would be essential.

The Washington State tax return glitch was very time consuming and frustrating. Fix your software so a Washington State return does not hold you up from filing the Federal return. Figuring out how to delete the forms and the return was a nightmare.

I thought I was going to have a heck of a time because I read a bunch of reviews where some folks had issues with this software. I had zero issues, just make sure your operating system is compatible. I have a Mac with Sequoia 15.7.3 software and the whole process from downloading to filing my taxes was simple. 2 years ago I DID NOT read the specs and bought the software and could not load it on my Mac (I had an older operating system at the time), luckily I had a old Windows computer that I had to use, but not gonna lie, I was mad, but it was my fault because I did not read the fine print. Would definitely recommend this software especially if you have a Mac with Sequoia operating system.

My experience was generally good but two items could be improved. First, this year I was not able to download my brokerage statements directly and had to enter amounts manually. This is the first time in several years that this was a problem. I tried multiple times on multiple days. Second I have several accounts with the same brokerage. There should be a way to identify the last 4 numbers of the account number so these can be identified and prompted correctly from year to year. The program prompts on interest from Brokerage, for example, but that is not helpful if there are several accounts with interest and it is impossible to know what account it is prompting for.
