Experienced tax preparer. I did use TTax online help screens. I did require screen sharing help via phone assistance just to get TTax Individual Advantage software to download initially. That was frustrating. Phone assistance was 1st Class. I think it was easier in 2024 to import W2s or 1099s. Had to key data in this year.

TurboTax is an excellent product that has evolved in feature/functionality and price over the years. It continues to be the frontrunner of all these type applications that I have attempted to use in prior years. I enjoy using TurboTax because I don't feel like I need to be an accountant to understand the terminology used to address the information the software needs. Keep up the excellent work going forward. One note for you of an error. When TurboTax updated the software during initial startup, the message displayed that TurboTax would automatically restart. IT DID NOT RESTART!

I feel Intuit is trying to move customers to the on line version, I did not care for the jumping threw hoops to get to the desk top product I for one will not use the online version ever. I an old and don't like change been using Turbo Tax for a long time and want to keep all me records the way I always have kept them. Just my two cents worth. Thanks Doug

I've been using TT for many years with the desktop version on various versions of Windows and this the first time that I can remember, that the importing of data from various financial institutions would not work. In researching this, Intuit had no answer just "manually enter data" which is a real pain with financial records. What ever Intuit did to break this, needs to get fixed for next year.

Please! Fix the TXF import for crypto investments! 2 different ledger tools a combined $200 expense and I have to make over 400 corrections when it finally imports. Also if you're going to allow online filing have bulk updates why not desktop!? Or a compatibility between moving to online for the investment filing then a transfer back to the desktop app? This has been a nightmare - a first for TurboTax but a bitter taste.

I've been using TurboTax to prepare my taxes for as long as taxes were available to be prepared from a PC. I have never had a reason to doubt the accuracy of my return, nor reason to doubt the integrity of the product. The advantage program and overall navigation of the website is brutally poor. The website is geared towards completing your return online and purchasing the upsell of assistance with your taxes. Add in the repeated attempt to upsell the audit defense and I'm so tempted to take another approach to my taxes next year. I am purchasing a license for the preparation of my taxes, I am not using the website and filing for free. Intuit should respect the fact that I'm already spending money for the license and give me the option to purchase assistance and/or audit insurance once, and only once. Not multiple times during the preparation of my taxes. This stuff is stressful enough without feeling like the company that I've already spent money with is trying to find any excuse/method to squeeze another $60 dollars out of me. Add into the frustration of the upsell is the trainwreck of their advantage subscription service. I have an intuit account that reflects that I've purchased some manner of tax prep software from Intuit/TurboTax back to 2018. I've been enrolled in the advantage plan since it was debuted. You get a notification that they will charge you for the product, but never provide you with an activation key, which is required for operation of the program. If it's up against tax time and you are struggling to figure out how to get this important info and purchase another copy of the exact same software, from your logged-in account, there is absolutely nothing that prompts you to activate the copy you've already paid for, it just takes your payment. Should the credit card that is on file for your advantage program expire, you get a handy email that this has happened. When you login to correct this condition, it saves your info, but doesn't necessarily process your payment for the current tax year. When you realize that this has happened and purchase the stand-alone product, your account does not have a valid form of payment on file. Even though that condition was rectified 15 minutes ago! I just really expect a professional software developer/ retailer to have their act together a bit better than this. But, at least they give me 6-8 opportunities to upsell tax advice during the process of filing my taxes!

Turbo Tax download is very thorough an easy to understand. It guides me through everything I need to do. I initially started with the online version but I did not feel comfortable with it. It seems to be much more vague and it is harder to navigate like the download version.

Excellent software tool with very friendly user interface. Accurate and complete filing capabilities for my families use. Makes an intense and error-prone process that one would complete manually into a reasonably understandable and efficient process. What used to take many hours over many days is now doable in a couple of sessions with the application. This is due to the excellent guidance provided in the U/I and the identification of useful features presented in an intelligent context.

I did not care for the repeated "pestering" to upgrade to Online Premier. I bought what I bought for a reason. I am glad that Turbo Tax catches missing information in the reviews and rechecks. It would be nicer if it caught those during the initial "interview" process. Also, some of the questions need to be refined, i.e., Clean Energy Improvements. We did perform several of the items, install solar and battery storage, but they were under PPA. You don't find out PPA is ineligible until you progress further along. Shouldn't ask if you made the improvements, should ask if you bought outright or leased at the3 start. As has always been the case, the program struggle with both spouses having the same occupation and having the same job-related expenses. If you enter data for one it replaces the data of the other; it doesn't add the input for the two together as a total for the couple. You have to do that manually.

turbo tax did not import all the information from last years turbo tax as it usually does. turbo tax would not allow us to enter the estimated tax payments we made on the appropriate line and continually flagged it as an error when we had to enter it in an inappropriate line to make it come out right on our federal taxes. We have used turbo tax for over 20 years but are thinking of making a change in the future.
