Intuit is a greedy company.

Intuit is a greedy company. You did away with the CD media saving you tons of money then you raise the price!! Constantly hitting me up for a tax accountant - Why do you think I bought turbo tax if I'm going to pay for a tax accountant, yet you constantly hit me up for hiring an advisor. Do you really have to look for every possible way to extract money from my pocket. It's really getting OLD!!

Good but doesn't seem as strong as in years past.

The format seemed a little user friendly than last year particularly the transfer portal. I also miss the built in virtual help that was part of the format a couple of years ago. Also missed having the disc as in years past, but the program does help the DYI user.

TurboTax Enshittification

I like the ability to keep my tax and financial information off of the cloud and to save my returns to my local hard drive. The TurboTax downloadable version was hard to find, and I had to wade through lots of attempts to get me to use the online version every place I searched. Once I found and downloaded the software, I spent about 30 minutes trying to activate it. The re-captcha function would not let me through no matter what I did. I finally had to log into my Intuit account through a browser to activate the software. Then once I opened the downloaded version, I was presented with a questionnaire asking me why I wouldn't use the online version. I was not allowed to use the downloaded product until I filled out the questionnaire. This is all a VERY BAD look. Now I suspect that the downloadable version is on its way out. I will not use an online/cloud platform for my taxes. You will lose me as a customer if you do as I suspect you are planning and kill the download. In fact, I'm already researching other tax preparation software because you've made it clear that I cannot count on a downloadable version for 2026. If you do not want to scare off your customers who will not post their tax/financial information to an online service, you need to make a commitment now to a downloaded version and make it easy to find, easy to activate, easy to use. Otherwise, you will cede this segment of your customer base.

Used for years --- still the Best

As always easy to use. I did try to follow directions to get my AGI but information was NOT on turbotax website. Not sure if that is only for if you file online. Was able to get from copy I saved for 2024. Everything else was easy to follow. I miss not having the website Its Deductible but found a good replacement (Deductible Duck) Thanks for making some good tax software as I have used it for years ....

TurboTax is OK.

It's better than some other tax softwares, but not much. TT claims to make things easier, but they are almost as confusing as the actual tax docs from the IRS. And if you click the wrong thing, well you get to start all over again. At least that was mine and a coworkers experience with TT customer service team. It's better than some others but not much. They all claim to make things easier, but they are almost as confusing as the actual tax docs from the IRS.

Very satisfied with TurboTax.

TurboTax is a very effective and easy to use tool. A nice feature would be to have TT compile a summary of all forms (W-2, 1099-R, 1099-MISC, etc) used in previous years return providing institution name and amounts that could be used as a pre-return checklist/reminder to assemble most likely paperwork needed to begin tax reparation.

Start off with helpful tips to access last year's

It was much more cumbersome to get started this year. Main suggestion: Be sure the Mac version of Turbo Tax does not "Hide" the file extension when it gets saved if at all possible. Additionally, be sure Mac users know as soon as they open the TT app that if their previous year's Turbo Tax Return is not opening, to 1) right click last year's TT return file to open the "Get Info" window and UNCHECK the box that says "Hide extension," AND 2) to close and reopen the Turbo Tax application so that it will actually SEE that the box has been unchecked. It took me a long time to discover that solution. I already un-hid the file extension for the 2025 return so I won't have the same problem next year, but it would be nice if TT could help ensure their customers have all the helpful suggestions they might need.

Turbo quality was less than I remember

- Was not able to pull into previous taxes from competitor tax assistance software - Help was so-so in help area; pretty much generalized info, has to research myself; I guess it is a way to pay for more service. - Cheaper than the competitor software - When did you remove the free State Filing feature? Argh!! Well at least you filled the forms for me.

Turbox Can Stand Improvement

I've used this program for more than 20 years. Somehow it is less intuitive than in the past. Also you are informed there are no errors in the review process. Then when you go to e-file you're informed you are missing info. Then you first have to figure out how to correct it. Worst yet, you're asked for info. in a 1099R box that has nothing in it. Seriously?!?!

Product could be improved

I have been using Turbo-Tax software for a couple of decades. It is very useful but each year there have been glitches that could be fixed for the future but rarely are. For example, the interest on US Government Securities portion of mutual funds have always been reported as a percentage (BY T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Schwab etc..), Turbo tax wants it to be entered as a dollar amount, necessitating calculations outside the software. Other tax software, such as H&R Block, do ask for the information as a percentage--making it straight forward to enter the data. Another issue this year, was that TT wanted us to file our State Taxes by paper --since our individual filing status for the state was different. We needed to prepare two Mock Federal returns etc--which is fine. Finally for printing and filing, TT was not clear about which Federal return to attach. The built in help was also not useful. A google search gave the answer. Another case of internal inconsistency was that--although TT insisted that we file the state taxes by paper, at later stages it kept asking whether we wanted to e-file. Even now the final file looks incomplete since there was no way to indicate that the paper copies have already been filed for the state....
