Easy Taxes without Drama or Stress

TurboTax makes preparing and filing our tax returns a simple and uneventful process. We've used it since it first came out and we have never had any errors with our returns. The program guides us through all the steps and provides simple explanations that easy to understand.

Turbo Tax Deluxe

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and I found it very difficult to enter data and review that data this year. I got into some kind of loop 2 different times and could not move forward. Ai did not help and I had to call a live expert. Both live experts were helpful and considerate.

Premium Service Hustle - Drop the add-ons

I had to mail in my returns due to the $10 credit I did not understand locked me into a Premium Service - in-product add-ons. This is the only way I could figure out how to get out of paying an extra $70 dollars for a service I did not want. There was no way I could see to take off the $10 credit no the Premium Service. I am very disappointed in your tactic to increase your revenue and I am now looking for another was to do my taxes.

TurboTax is not as good as it used to be.

You do not make it clear at the time of purchase that the Deluxe version of TurboTax will not guide you through the process of claiming credit for foreign taxes that were paid. I spent an enormous amount of time to find this out. And not from Turbotax. By then, it was too late to download the Premium version (which, I think, but am not sure) will handle Form 1116 and all that is involved. Had I downloaded and installed the Premium version, I would have had to download and manually enter all my tax information all over again. The Deluxe version for many years has handled the foreign tax credit issue.

State Taxes

Very bad this the 529 needed more information. The bank information didn't go on the State forms had to go back and go into forms and put in. If I had not checked every line, we would have had to wait months for the refund. I paid a lot of money for this program it should have put it in when I put in the information in the Federal Form. It never asked again to put it in for State.

Used for years --- still the Best

As always easy to use. I did try to follow directions to get my AGI but information was NOT on turbotax website. Not sure if that is only for if you file online. Was able to get from copy I saved for 2024. Everything else was easy to follow. I miss not having the website Its Deductible but found a good replacement (Deductible Duck) Thanks for making some good tax software as I have used it for years ....

Wonderful but could use some tweaks.

It is easy to use until the end. We e-file Federal returns easy. But if we do not want to pay to file our state, it is like being punished trying to find what needs to be mailed in with return not easy instructions. And heaven forbid there is a city return to be filed and mailed in. I had to go back into my returns to find additional documents after re-reading instructions. When we ask for ALL necessary documents to be printed to file, why are they not ALL printed?

It should pre-populate name & address for payment

TurboTax could be better. When paying the $45 for an additional state (with a credit card), and then again when paying for the $25 e-filing, it asked for all my info (name, address, ... and then the name again). It should pre-populate all the info, which the software already has. I do not save my credit card info, but the name and address should still pre-populate because Intuit and the TurboTax software has that information already.

Not as good as it was

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years and have loved how it helped me complete my taxes for less than paying for another tax service. This year, however, I felt as if the explanations and information provided were often too vague, putting the onus on me to know the details. One example was the car loan interest deduction; there was little information provided on how I was to know if I could deduct my interest. I had to spend additional time to find that information using other online sites (such as how to determine where my car was manufactured). In addition, for charitable contributions that are items instead of cash, the It's Deductible no longer exists. The search bar to help estimate item values is dependent on me typing in the correct title according to the search parameters (especially for women's clothing). For example, if I typed jeans, I got options for men's and boys, but not for women. I had to type "Women's: jeans" before the option came up. This is not only cumbersome, but perhaps also discriminatory. Also, for this type of deduction I had to type in the type, date, item description, and value for each type of item that was donated. The time it took was excessive. It wasn't fast with It's Deductible, but at least I could input the information for one date all at once. I'm not sure if other options are better for doing my own taxes, but I would suggest Turbo Tax take a hard look at what people don't like about the tax year 2025 version.

Move to Online service not a pleasant experience

This year when I downloaded my Turbo Tax 2025, I was given the option to do the online version which would have saved my $20 state filing fee. I was never comfortable with the layout of the online version and then when I was ready to file, the online version had all of my banking info but didn't have the info, AGI, etc., I needed to file my 2025 taxes. I had to go back and download my 2024 return and transfer everything I had done online to the downloaded version. Filing my taxes with Turbo Tax this year was not a positive experience!
