Disappointed

Online and desktop are out of sync. Desktop shows efile accepted but still asking for me to file? Online version wants me to enter all my bank information and pay again to file. Need to get the two programs in sync and ensure the desktop application has updated all sections with efile complete for both State and Federal.

Layman's terms needed

I had to open the instructions for form so many times and read and read them over and over again because there was no help like in previous version of turbo tax. There should be a what does this mean and where on my documents i can find the information. The only thing turbotax offers is more lawyer written language and an option to give more money to TurboTax for obtaining help.

TurboTax is prone to time consuming glitches

For the third or fourth time in 20 years, a software glitch forced me to spend time on the phone with an expert. These are timewasters. Since it happens too frequently, I am forced to consider another way of doing my taxes. The person I worked with was excellent. That saved me from having to go through the whole thing with another software package.

TurboTax, the software that sucks & never improves

Well when I got done filing, TurboTax asked if I'd mind telling why I didn't opt to pay an extra $60 for live tax advice. So I typed all of this, but apparently the text field has a limit of 2000 characters, and when I tried to submit it, TurboTax just crashed with some mention about 2000 characters being exceeded. Nice. Your software should be easy enough to use on its own. Or else it should be free, and then I'd be more inclined to pay for tax advice and help in using your software. Of course your software is NOT easy enough to use on its own, and every year I run into something new that's infuriating. Years ago I tried contacting Intuit with suggestions about how to make TurboTax not suck, and they never fixed the quirk I was reporting, and eventually my life circumstances changed and I no longer had to experience that quirk but then it was other quirks. Like the one this year where it would say "needs review" and when I click on it, it takes me to the document import page and I import what I suppose is likely the form I need for whatever it was saying needs review, and when done, it takes me right back to the page where it says "needs review" and it still says that and when I click on it again, it takes me right back to the document import page and after going around & around in circles several times I finally google and hear others say "yes this is stupid but that's just how TurboTax works; you have to skip that & move on, and eventually you'll get to whatever it was that made it say "needs review" and then it will stop saying it needs review". Well your software shouldn't suck so much that it drives people in this endless loop. Also your softare told me "based on your information we think you need to file in both Indiana and Ohio" so I paid for the extra state, only to later find out it wasn't actually needed because Ohio and Indiana have a reciprocal income agreement and since my W-2 withheld income for Indiana (the state where I live), it wasn't even necessary to file in Ohio at all, and TurboTax should have known that since it already had my W-2 with that information so it should never have told me to pay for the extra state in the first place. But there's no point in me saying all this, because you're not going to fix it, you're just going to keep making sucky software and it's never going to get better.

Knowledge given to tax expert

I purchased expert advice for $50.00 US. I spoke to an agent named Antonio. We discussed the issues I was having and he was very gracious in realizing that I had more knowledge in the US/Canada Tax Treaty than he had . When I taught him the required items from the treaty, it was recognizable that the tax software did not allow direct methods to solve the issues of US Social Security taxed only in Canada and the exclusion of eared income from Canada for a US citizen living in Canada. Antonio was extremely appreciative of this new knowledge and hopefully Turbo Tax will adjust the software to account for these issues. Consideration should be given to allow a Canadian resident to e-file their taxes.

Helped me for years!

I have used TurboTax for years. Intuitive and helpful. What took a day or two of plodding calculations now takes a few hours. Missing items are easily found and displayed. Tedious information is saved from year to year, so it does not need to be entered repeatedly.

Beware the vendor, make sure it's TurboTax!

When I logged onto your website to download the 2025 TurboTax Software, I was rerouted to SoftwareDiscount.com, and my purchase went to them. Now, I'm trying to get a credit. My suggestion, lock your website down so that other Software companies cannot advertise on your website. Other than being rerouted to a different company to purchase the 2025 TurboTax Software, no complaints.

TurboTax-Win11-opt-out

Import was good. An issue with having to change the font size so the screen fits. The final page, I couldn't click on the button due to scroll option wasn't available. I had to hook a second monitor to move the window so I could click the window button.

Lack of Transparency Cost Me $80.00

I spent $80.00 on software for 2022 only to discover AFTER the purchase that I could not take advantage of the e-filing option. When speaking to a representative I was informed that I paid the $80.00 for the software to do my taxes for me... I already had them done, I just wanted to file them electronically and was willing to pay the money to do so. Needless to say that was a waste of $80.00 and I will no longer be using this software... ever again.

TT 2025 Desktop watchout

This 2025 TT DELUXE Desktop version run into some difficulties like not saving my entire w2 informations and almost filed a 0/0 due/refund scenario. Only my own intuition saved filing a 0/0 due/refund disaster, probably the software guard rails would have kicked-in but there were no such indication even after the time I singed for audit guard etc.
