I have been a long time user of Turbo Tax, I always find it easy to use, accurate and full of the features I need, This, year, however, I really missed the It's Deductible feature as well as the query that broke down monthly contributions. Would love to see them added back for future versions. It's Deductible was an essential tool in breaking down and itemizing deductions to Goodwill, etc.

TurboTax made hundreds of accurate computations, but at the end, when I was filing an amended state return, TurboTax made one glaring mistake. I had filed a paper return to the state, and this same state requires amended returns to be filed on paper. However, TurboTax told me (incorrectly) that since I had filed the state return electronically, I did not need to send the amended return at all! No address was provided for an amended return by paper.

Still has an aging clunky interface, e.g., returning from work on a section comes back to the top of the previous page instead of back to exactly the same point of initiation. also, there is still only a coarse association between the step-by-step view and form-view: the flow between these views should be much smoother and obvious. In fact, a complete re-write of the GUI to modern layouts, features, and views is getting more & more past due.

Turbo Tax doesn't allow 1099-R documents that are uploaded with boxes 9a and 16 blank to be accepted if blank, even though the IRS doesn't require them. It was a problem last year, an I forgot about it. I thought it would be fixed for this year, but it's still a problem. Evidently Intuit doesn't listen to feedback. I'll investigate if it's corrected next year before purchasing Turbo Tax again. May be worth starting from scratch with different software (HR Block) to avoid the problems.

Thanks to my newer Windows 11 laptop, the download and updates did not take too long. I do like the detail, answers, and guidance for new situations and new tax laws, but TurboTax has become even more commercial and pushing ads and extras that make filing even more of a hassle and headache. I do not like that there is no longer a CD option, but desktop okay and no sales tax. Price is great!

I originally began using Turbo Tax on a Dell PC back in 2006 (for Tax Year 2005). Two years ago, I transitioned to a MacBook Air. I have since noticed that the Mac version of Turbo Tax seems to be more cumbersome to navigate and the text is smaller and harder to read. (My opinion is that the original program's conversion from PC to Mac is sloppy.) Also the elimination of being able to purchase the program on a CD is disappointing. (Downloading the digital version is way more complicated than it should be...given the current technological advancements that are being made.)

TurboTax is great except for some annoyances. TT does not import 1099R forms well. From Fidelity, Schwab. I spent way too much time repeatedly filling in basic info like name, address, etc. Why doesn't TT know my state tax liability from last year? I used TT and it has this info already. I had a fine for underpayment of my state tax. Why? I made estimated payments during the year as directed by TT. TT should pay the fine.

The tax preparation program is fine but it took over 20 minutes to get through the Captua routine just to pay you $20. Annoyed enough that I will consider another software after using TurboTax for over 20 years, Everyone in my family had trouble and called me. I can't keep recommending a software that they can't use. TurboTax keeps asking to sign up or spend money and you have gone from trusted to very scammy.

Technology and ability to navigate remained easy, but misleading prices. Advertised for being free to efile federal, that was not the case, it was an extra $40 at the end to file. Advertised to being free to efile one state, that was not the case, it was $25 with a $10 credit at the end to file. Also, advice is now $60.

As a long time Turbo Tax user I found this year's version to be less user friendly than previous versions. Also I find the lack of state return documentation worksheets to be a problem. If the software transfers an amount from the federal information entered but changes the amount for any reason there should be a worksheet generated, especially when your telephone support does not know why the amount changes. A simple worksheet showing the computation performed by the software should be provided.
