I have used turbotax for years and have been very pleased with the results. This year I ran into a snag as I had to wait for Form 4136 to be available, after it was ok to file I did so only to be denied by the IRS. They calmed there was an error on form 4136 that turbotax didn't catch. But in your defence I found no error to correct so I filed without that form. That situation was a disappointment as it caused me to loose a $51 tax benifient.

It's a pretty clunky and cumbersome interface for 2026. Not much has changed, and it's still difficult to get my taxes done, even though I've been using TurboTax for many years, I'm smart, and I'm technology proficient. It should be much, much simpler. One feature that would add a lot of utility is the ability to upload a picture of W-2s and 1099's so that I don't have to enter the data manually. I would also like to have more control to enter data directly on forms in Forms mode, rather than needing to enter it in the background worksheet which is always tedious to figure out. I should also be able to file electronically even if I have overridden some fields.

It's better than some other tax softwares, but not much. TT claims to make things easier, but they are almost as confusing as the actual tax docs from the IRS. I had to mail in my returns due to the $10 credit I did not understand locked me into a Premium Service - in-product add-ons. This is the only way I could figure out how to get out of paying an extra $70 dollars for a service I did not want. There was no way I could see to take off the $10 credit no the Premium Service. I am very disappointed in your tactic to increase your revenue and I am now looking for another was to do my taxes.

I've been using TurboTax for more than 20 years. Normally it is a pretty seamless process, other than not handling stock option sales correctly without manual intervention despite having the transaction records being downloaded directly. This year, TurboTax started using up license activations every time I opened it. That forced me to complete my tax filing before the 5 activations were used up. That was quite annoying.

TT could use some extra guidance in certain areas. I cannot remember in what areas at this moment but I did not find this year's use as easy-to-use as in previous years. Even with this in mind I still give TT a good rating and the filling process was the easiest section to complete. At this time I believe I will be using TT again next year.

Too many "pop up" adds "nickel & dimeing" me for additional purchases. Windows version has a feature where a "refund" window always shows you how much you will be getting back ... what ever you are doing. The Mac version has this window in the "Ez step" mode ... but the "refund" window disappears when selecting "Forms" icon. I have to toggle back and forth to know what effect entering and/or changing data has on my "refund".

TurboTax makes preparing and filing our tax returns a simple and uneventful process. We've used it since it first came out and we have never had any errors with our returns. The program guides us through all the steps and provides simple explanations that easy to understand.

I didn't like thee way donations were handled where there were more than one non cash donation. In the years before we were able to go into a sections that allowed us to identify the type of donation and place a value on each item from low to high. This year we had to guess what the total value was. I am referring to donations like to Salvation army.

Download and install is a nosebleed. Need to submit to multi-factor authentication in order to access more multi-factor authentication. Forced Intuit Account registration to "confirm my identity" but you were glad to take my money without confirming my identity; that is a bait and switch. Turbo Tax did not handle my healthcare properly, had to go back and do it manually. What if I had not known that was necessary? I really don't like the constant up-selling and cross-selling. It's taxes. I want to get in and get out as quickly as possible. I don't want to form a long-term relationship with my tax software.
