I have used TurboTax for the past several years and have been very satisfied with it—but not so much for my 2025 return. Using the chat feature to find help for specific topics/questions was a frustrating experience, almost always resulting in a waste of time/effort. After several hours of preparing my 2025 return using TT and finally at the point of e-filing, suddenly I was asked for 2024's AGI and had difficulty easily locating that one piece of datae. Somehow the TT software did not seem to me to be as intuitive as it has been in the past.

There is quite a mess with 5 digits TurboTax PIN code. If you don't enter it then IRS rejects tax return with the error "IND-666-02 - If the Spouse SSN appears more than once in the e-File database, then 'PINTypeCd' must not have the value "Self-Select On-Line".". It actually caused tons of problems for me, a lot of back & force with IRS in order to figure out if there was any identity theft etc. The problem was that TurboTax online version doesn't allow to enter TurboTax 5 digits protection PIN (or at least I couldn't find where it's possible), which causes invalid headers in the tax return and the rejection from IRS.

Was not very good. Have used Turbotax for 24 years and the software has gotten much worse. If you aren't aware of the need to enter data, or the expected outcome, your return will not be accurate. I had the feeling throughout that I was being pushed to use the live online help

When going to pay for state and when entering credit card for state payment, the place where you scroll down to enter experation month does not scroll past 8. I don't have a credit card with an experation date before August of any year. This is a major flaw, in my opinion.

This is a nightmare this year.. I have e-filed three times but not accepted. I have checked my information. I do not need to pay for help to complete another return and am getting tired of being placed in that area after I have already completed all of my information and paid the filing form.

I've been using Turboxtax for over 20 years because it's easy to use and is accurate.Two changes I would make are 1) to make it simpler for entering 1099-Q and 1098-T forms, specifically focused on entering the forms for parents and their dependents. Seemed as if my kids owed significant taxes specifically due to 529 withdrawals even though the money was spent on education, until I reentered their information multiple times and finally got the withdrawal to not affect their taxes. The second change is I would add CTPL and CTPFL to the list of options for W2 box 14 in order to make filling out this part of Turbotax more intuitive and faster.

Most of the Federal part is pretty good. The State part, at least for Virginia, is horrible. In one place near "filing" I was caught in a loop. It said I was required to mail in my return but kept giving me instructions for e-filing. The printing part is horrible. It printed all my documents with about 1/3 running off the page so the information didn't show. It changed my printer's properties and I haven't completely got my normal settings back yet. I had to make pdf files in order to print the documents. The pdf filenames didn't say when it was a state file. The subdirectory for the pdf files did not update eventhough I corrected it numerous times. I never found a place to input the federal or state estimated payment amount that I wanted. Navigating through the printing and filing parts of federal and state was nearly impossible. Most of these problems started after I started working on my state return. I have used the PC version of TurboTax ($80) for many years and have never had any of the problems listed above. I sure hope you can fix things up better for next year.

Never have had problems with Turbo Tax in the past (30+ years). This year I got to the payment screen to pay for the State return filing an it kept locking up and the screen size would not allow me to click the continue button. worked thru it with tabs, but it took awhile

Pre-paid subscriptions are good but getting the billing or credit applied to the actual filing is disconnected. We paid via email our 2025 download but had to interface with live agent to get accounting straightened out. Even with that done, when performing the E-File steps, it appears we did not get credit for the one state filing included. Now we have to investigate this issue. Confusing and time consuming!

TurboTax 2025 Deluxe failed me this year. After adding the CA State return, the application would hang or sometimes I could get to the next step by waiting 5 to 15 minutes for the application to respond. I used many backups for repeated attempts, stripped out the CA return several times nothing helped. I did manage to file but I am exhausted and spent over 15 extra hours battling with the "Not Responding" delays and lockups.
