Could be better!

1. When comparing 2024 and 2025 data, sometimes the columns are 2024/2025; at other places, they are 2025/2024. This is confusing: it should be the same everywhere. 2. When TT asked whether I had any <financial presence> in a <list of foreign countries>, I answered "No" to all of them. However, on the very next screen, it wanted to know what my <financial presence> was in Canada. Huh?????

Turbo Tax Sucks

IF I could give it a zero, I would. I overrode the state tax amount to input the actual tax amount and not the amount of taxes withheld. Turbo Tax could not handle it. Then, Turbo Tax would not allow me to file the federal tax return electronically, due to this. That's just stupid. And a waste of my money in purchasing this program. It is stupid to have to pay income tax on a state tax refund in 2026 when your tax bracket may be different that it was when you deducted the tax amount withheld in 2025.

Worst year

I have been using TurboTax (MaxinTax) for almost 30 years. This year's was the hardest to use. Several "resources" were harder to understand than the reason for clicking on them in the first place. As I finished the task, TurboTax offered me the choice of receiving my refund by direct Deposit or Check. As always, I chose by check, understanding it might take a little longer to receive. There was no notice that the IRS had changed their policy on writing checks almost a year ago. I am still waiting for my check. I went to the TurboTax website to see if any notices were there. Since that time my email inbox has been flooded with "reminders" to file my taxes. Quite irritating.

Turbo Tax too dumbed down to be helpful

The UI increasingly the last few years but especially 2025 is getting difficult to follow, especially as regards to certain incomes and deductions. Example 1099-DIV, one wishes the same investments reported on the same line with explanation but especially if one allows automatic download it creates "new entries" that are not well detailed. Also the option to go form by form on certain things like business expenses and certain costs just is difficult to get to and find. Not liking this app at all anymore. Used to love it.

Did the job, Annoying features.

It mostly was simple and good, but the nags for upsells are slightly annoying. A few prompts were also slightly confusing but thankfully I ran into no issues. forcing windows 11 though on it's own deducts a star regardless, since I had to wipe my computer just to file my taxes. Better than being completely forced online or on a subscription. (which is being pushed too)

difficult and the whole process was laborious

I have been using TurboTax for many years and this year is the first time I found it frustrating. Finding answers to my questions was difficult and the whole process was laborious. I imported the previous year's taxes and still had to fill out a bunch of info that was in those taxes (just for example). NOW THEY DON'T INCLUDE FILING FOR STATE FOR FREE. ONLY A 10$ DISCOUNT!

Turbo Tax is a Scam

For $80, they say you get to file in 1 state with turbo tax Federal & state , but they don't mention it isn't free. You still have to pay $25 to file. You just get to download one state return document for free... The same document the state is required to provide. Go figure. Turbo Tax is straight trash. Total scal

Turbo Tax consultant Kashe Emma is a SUPERSTAR

I have been using turbo tax for close to two decades. It's easy. However, this year I had an issue transmitting my return. I called turbo tax and spoke with Kashe Emma. She was so kind, helpful and understanding. Not only did she help me, she reassured me that everything would be ok. Her calmness helped me calm down. Kashe is a real gem. Her customer service is excellent. She truly is an asset to your company. She deserves a pay increase. Give her a pay increase.

TurboTax does not check for duplicate entries.

In the past, I’ve had trouble importing data from my brokerage, so I typically enter my 1099-R information manually. This year, when it came time to enter my 1099-B, I decided to try the import feature since it would save significant time if it worked. The import appeared to go smoothly, and I completed and e-filed my federal return. When I moved on to my California state return, I ran into a problem. California requires supporting W-2s or 1099s for any reported state tax withholding, but I couldn’t find enough forms to match the total withholding shown on the return. After digging into it, I discovered that importing my 1099-B data also pulled in a duplicate 1099-R—one I had already entered manually. TurboTax neither detected nor flagged this duplicate during import or in its final review. This error created extra work to identify and correct the issue, required amending my return, and delayed my refund. This is a basic validation failure that tax software should catch.

Good Program

The program is good except your program put the middle initial at the beginning of the last name causing the IRS Federal Return to be rejected. In the Personal Information, everything is correct. Its a program era which would not reprint correctly so the returns (state and federal to be mailed) had to be corrected by hand
