After 20 some years, I will probably look for something else next year. The changes in the product are for the worse. I am getting bombarded with entreaties to upgrade to the online premier version. Maybe I accidentally said yes one time. Biggest problem I had was that the program somehow deleted three key 1099R forms from the record. I had printed a preliminary copy of the 1040 that did include these. I discovered the error too late and now have to file an amended form. The wierdest thing was that when I reentered these 1099's I thought well my tax is going to be higher but at least I will have more withholding to show. But somehow, the withholding had not been deleted. I have to file an amended return and write two more tax checks. I may have to pay again to efile. Don't know yet. Also, it won't pull up my return from last year now so I can't easily do a two year comparison. My tax advisor doesn't like Turbotax. I will consult with him before filing and see wha he recommends.for next year.

I have used TurboTax for decades at this point. It is a trusted and valued software program for doing my taxes. I would like to see an improvement that if a state doesn't have state income taxes, confirm the payer's state, then if no tax requirements, don't keep asking to start state return or submit it.

TurboTax used to be an excellent product for 'normal' taxpayers. I no longer think this is the case. If I wanted to consult with an accountant I wouldn't use TurboTax, yet the product is headed towards that very eventuality. Make it easy for the average taxpayer and stop trying to sell 'professional help'. It used to be a GREAT product that I used to highly recommend to friends; that is no longer the case.

1) Using Turbo Turbo tax for my 2025 on Windows 11 PC, I could not import my 2024 Turbo Tax info which was on my Windows 10 computer nor could I do so via Turbo Tax online, very disappointing and time consuming, especially since I had to buy a new Windows 11 PC just to do my taxes. 2) Using 2025 Turbo Tax for my Hawaii State taxes, with the step by step instructions, there is a very serious software omission to add my quarterly Hawaii Estimated Taxes that I paid every 4 months. Turbo Tax stated that I owed Hawaii $5,300 & when I continued with the step by step interview, Turbo Tax went through the accuracy check & stated that my Hawaii Tax return was 100% accurate when in fact I had to go find the correct State Form to manually input my quarterly equal payments of $1,900 x 4 = $7,600. I was able to receive a refund of $1,766. With such a serious error, I no longer have confidence in Turbo Tax which I have used over 18 years.

2025 changes eliminated the tables for 1099R, Div, Int. I liked the table format better. It had more visibility and was easier to work with. TT has "dumbed down" the interface TOO MUCH! I want MORE visibility in WHAT, WHY, and Reason for how the entries are being handled. I want TT to provide MORE information on what it is doing with my entries.

TurboTax handling of HSA excess contribution, removal, 1099-SA is utterly confusing and wrong. Sometimes 'last year' refers to 2024, and in other places 2025. TT adds to income even when excess contribution had been withdrawn prior to tax filing deadline of the previous year, and tax on that had already been paid in the previous year. I had to manually fix the form. A small item like this held up my progress unduly in completing the tax return.

The import feature is awful this year. Software is unable to import my spouse's brokerage accounts from the same financial institution, even though it's different account number and name from mine. We had to manually input trades. Absolutely ridiculous I'm paying for your software and doing so much work.

MEDIOCRE SOFTWARE: SCREWED UP WRITE OFF OF UNCOMMON EXPENSES... DID NOT PROVIDE DEDUCTION--- EVEN THOUGH "TAXPAYER IS ALLOWED UP TO $$$ OF WRITE-OFF" WHICH REQUIRED SOME WORK AROUND ONLY GETTING BACK $131--WOW!! AFTER ENTERING MORTGAGE TAX INFO. CREDIT PROCESSOR GLITCH AT END ALMOST TRIED TO FORCE ME TO PAY AGAIN..

I have been using TurboTax for decades. But this is my last year trying to use it. In my opinion, it has gone to the dogs. My tax circumstance cannot be much simpler. But rather than allowing the process to be a breeze, TurboTax somehow manages to convolute things and turn it into an ordeal. I used to find it pretty user-friendly. Not so these days. Instructions sometimes cannot be more opaque. It even managed to screw-up downloads of data from 1099 reports for accounts at a couple of financial institutions. Then when I had to manually enter figures instead, TurboTax actually crashed on me. Furthermore, TurboTax is already an expensive product compared to rivals. But it has become greedy and now uses every opportunity it can find to try to coax users into upgrading or purchasing add-ons. Cheesy sales tactics are something I expect at a used-car lot, not from my tax-preparation software.

The tax preparation program is fine but it took over 20 minutes to get through the Captua routine just to pay you $20. Annoyed enough that I will consider another software after using TurboTax for over 20 years, Everyone in my family had trouble and called me. I can't keep recommending a software that they can't use. TurboTax keeps asking to sign up or spend money and you have gone from trusted to very scammy.
