every year i try to use turbo tax to forecast my with holding at the end of the calendar year. so i buy the full priced edition in november but it never is complete so I overpay as later offerings are 10- 20 dollars cheaper. you should sell it as a partial solution, as it is shady business practice.

Discovering that I needed to upgrade to Windows 11 was more than an unpleasant surprise. Discovering my PC might need to be upgraded to load windows 11 was even a bigger surprise. Imagine having to investigate and shop a new PC as the filing deadline clicks down. Very glad I am not a late filer, otherwise I might have missed the date. Have told everyone I know who uses Turbo Tax to be very aware of this arrangement you have with MS. You can send me weekly email advertisement but could not send an email informing me of this new limitation in November ?

The UI for the online versions did not allow me to choose anything other than Expert Assist, which I didn't need and was twice the cost of the desktop version I ended up purchasing. I did my return twice: once online, and when I realized I couldn't file without paying for the superfluous Expert Assist, I had to do it all again on the desktop version. V. frustrating

Turbo Tax 2025 did not flag that my federal return was missing the IP PIN number before I submitted it. The return was rejected because of that missing number. I did not receive an e-mail that it had been rejected. I reopened Turbo Tax a few days later to check status and saw the error and the necessary fix and resubmitted.

Overall, TurboTax was functional for me, though not always easy to use. Switching between Q&A and forms is awkward, without any link or drill from Q&A to the underlying forms and vice versa. The handling of active, materal participation in a vacation home rental business requires forcibly defeating the data entry process and putting in pro-rata amounts as if they were 100% amounts for rental expenses, because the program doesn't understand active, material participation by other than a real estate professional.

Tax software works well but you have to pay attention and know something about whats needed to file. I almost missed reporting my SS income because I expected the software would prompt me for this info. I would not recommend this for complete novice as basic filing knowledge is required.

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least the last 15 years and this is the most frustrating experience that I have had in a long while. Unless SIGNIFICANT changes are made to the software, I will NOT be using it again and will NOT recommend it to anyone. Issues: 1) Donation Input - This was ridiculously time consuming, cumbersome and impractical. Last year, there was a dropdown list with recommended values that was extremely helpful. This year's format of documenting EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM was irritating to no end. It would simply be easier to tell people that you cannot deduct contributions, instead of presenting a format that requires you to jump through so many hoops. Will NEVER use this again. 2) IRA Contributions - The instructions for this were confusing. And I also did not appreciate the attempted upsell to Premier to "maximize my IRA deductions/contributions. I had to go over this section twice before I understood. 3) Payment - Several of the payment pages did not display properly, they did not scroll all the way to the bottom; consequently, I had to figure out a work around to select the "continue"/button to advance to the next page. This was especially worrisome and difficult when I was trying to pay for my state filing. 4) The issue with payment cause another issue: my mouse disappeared on the payment screen(s). Because, I have a touch screen, I was able to work around this, but what if I didn't have a touch screen. Then what? 5) Too much selling and not enough explanation - It seemed that the main focus of the software was to get you to buy another add-on (Audit help/a more expensive version of the software) verses accurate preparation of tax returns. 6) I hated the use of scare tactics to try to entice people to purchase Audit protection...telling people that you might have to pay as much as $2,000 for audit assistance if you wait...shameful. 7) "Walk me through everything" was less helpful than in years past. I found myself continually going "back" to read and re-read...just more work that it needed to be.

I've used Turbotax for many years. This year I found it more complicated. Perhaps the format/look of each page was different which gave me pause. Some items were not explained as clearly as in the past and it was difficult to find help. So either I wasn't as astute as in other years or changes in the program made filing more difficult.

the refund amount went up and down, I had to exit couple of times and restart again. Also foreign tax and form 1116 were not in sync and kept having issues. signed up only for one son for trump account and software selected for both sons even if one was more than 18 years of age. This time turbo tax is not very reliable

I have used TurboTax for 20 years because it's simple and accurate. But this year, it caused problems that almost cost me a lot of money. When it was downloading interest and dividend statements from banks, etc. it did not recognize when a certain institution was complete, and it wanted me to update it. That caused it to download the same interest and dividend statements multiple times. It tried to add them to my income multiple times, also. That could have cost me a lot of money if I had not noticed it. As usual, it was pretty simple to use. That's still great. And, I assume it is accurate becase I've never been audited (knock on wod). So I'll continue to use Turbotax, but now it eems I ned to be mr vigilant in watching over what it does.
