Turbo Tax is very helpful for preparing my tax returns. But trying to E file my state tax return has been horrible for years. I select to pay for E filing the state tax return by credit card and Turbo Tax page stays grayed out so the information does not go anywhere. As a result, I have to call someone in Turbo Tax support to have them make the purchase using my credit card and then they give me the authorization. This has been like this for as long as I can remember. On March 12, 2026, I attempted to file my taxes and had the same problem with the credit card information staying grayed out. This credit card is one that was on file with Turbo Tax. A purchase was made on March 12th for $25 for E filing my state tax. The authorization never came down that I was supposed to get. This morning March 13th, I again attempted to E file my taxes. This time as I put information in for the credit card purchase, the Continue box allowed me to click on it. It cost me another $15 in addition to the $25 on March 12th to file the state tax. Something has got to get better.

Spend 60 dollars for download. Not a problem. Then Inuit tries to sell you audit protection. Free Federal file with State. Then when you file oh gee 25 dollars to file State then a additional 40 processing fee . They adding adding fees and the cost of download probably be cheaper to have someone else do them. INUIT IS JUST TRYING TO SEEHOW MUCH MONEY THEY CAN MAKE OFF YOU NOW DAYS

I found this year's turbo tax not as user friendly as in past years. The search feature was not helpful when I asked a simple question as to whether or not I need to report my Roth contribution. I found the advice I needed by going directly to the internet. Also, I found your interface for energy tax credit problematic. I put in numbers that later needed to be corrected. However, the incorrect entries remained and the only way to delete/change was by going directly to the forms. Such inconsistencies can contribute to significant errors. Not sure if I'll use Turbo Tax in the future.

I purchased the download but the automatic WEB download kept interfering with the program. UGH it delayed starting the process. I have used Turbo Tax for decades. This was the first time I had problems. Is it because you are transitioning to a different format?

Our return is simple. I import all important items. I know we will use the Standard Deduction so, unless I missed it, I would like to see a Check Box at the Beginning of Deductions, to allow me to skip all the itemized sections and go straight to the Std. Ded. without attemping to asseble all the data needed to see if I could itemize. I know that we won't come close, so let me by-pass it. Makes sense to me, but I'm not an accountant. Out of all the years that I've been using TurboTax, this years software had to be one of the worst. It was extremely clunky to use, inconsistent with loading previously worked on returns, CONSTANTLY having to reactivate the software even though the license was already submitted at the beginning, etc. This will heavily weigh on my mind next tax season.

Sometimes difficult to go back to a specific step. Some steps do not always appear available in the step list. In the Wisconsin return, the software requires the user to make a choice to use, or not use, the application of the "WI Retirement Income Subtraction" early in the interview process, but the user does not yet know the result for the "non-subtraction" method. This is a new feature for 2025 tax year. I tried the "non-subtraction" method first; and then tried to go back and use the "WI Retirement Income Subtraction". The software would not allow me to go to the step where the decision is made. Eventually I did a "save as" and created another copy to edit. Even in the "save As" copy, I had issues navigating to the step to redirect the calculation. The software should allow the user to calculate using both methods, compare, and then choose the best option. The decision is forced upon the user before the tax results are evident. I wish I have known to do the "save As" earlier, I could have saved a LOT of time.

OMG. I AM LACKING A BETTER DESCRIPTIVE EXPERIENCE WITH MY ADVISOR. I AM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD OR CAN DISCLOSE HER NAME EXCEPT TO SAY THAT SHE WAS POSITIVELY AWESOME!!! OH BOY - NOT ONLY DID SHE DRILL ME THROUGH THE PREPARATION PROCESS TO DETERMINE MY ERRORS BUT SHE WAS VERY PATIENCE WITH MY MISUNDERSTANDING AND I ENDED MY SESSION BETTER SATISFIED THAT SHE GENUINELY CARE AND WANTED TO ASSIST.

some of the things changed this year and have made it more difficult to follow. like the pages to send in mail for returns is not an option when printing. if this continues to happen and items are dropped and software becomes even more difficult to follow I may stop using it.

I've used it for years. Has saved me a lot of money! I have used online advise a few times and everyone was always so friendly and helpful. This year I found it a little more difficult to input information. The format had changed and wssn't as easy to understand as in the past.
