Went smoothly with data entry. Don't like the that the state portion was not able to print to for file by mail.. instead you want to sell me a e-file state for 25.00 dollars. Not interested in that so Turbo Tax made it difficult to file by mail. Booooo

I have used TurboTax for my taxes for over 20 years and have always found them to be accurate and provide excellent guidance. I have never had any issues with the interface or compatibility with my computer/printer setup. The program features are very robust and have helped me many times to find answers to whatever question that i have.

The product is great, but the initial download did not work and after several tries tech support could not fix the issue, so I had to purchase a second time. You also would not accept any of my credit cards, so I had to spend $ 140 to get my electronic refund. Why??

Works in general for filing as a dual status citizen living in Canada. The only issue is that I cannot e-file due to my spouse not being a US citizen and therefore does not have a SSN nor a tax filer ID as she has never lived or worked or owned any property in the US. A tax filer ID application is too onerous. I should be allowed to enter NRA or Non Resident Alien as an option so that I can e-file. Currently I have to print and mail. Also, I can no longer get the basic package for filing, I cannot file online and as a result, I am forced now to purchase the Deluxe Desktop edition at a higher price than I think is necessary.

TurboTax has always been great. This year your updates do not work requiring me to unhook from my internet to continue. In looking online it appears that this is a problem for many if not all users. I have a current computer with Windows 11 but get a failed update every time.

As with last year (2024), I feel Turbotax has become a platform for revenue streams like tax advice, product upgrades, and audit insurance policies. The product has lost most of its in-program help features as if to steer users to live tax advice. It is easier for me to google the help I seek such as where to find K1 forms than look at the program's kaleidoscope help section on line.

i have used TT for several years. this year was the worst ever. everything was fine until i wanted to add a state. the application had a serious flaw in the page design. the page was formatted incorrectly and the "continue" button was off of the visible display. after much messing around with display resolution, i finally tried hiding the taskbar and that uncovered the hidden button at the bottom right corner of the display. i wasted at least an hour fooling around with this mistake.

The input screens need better a better format. You either go through the questionnaire which is redundant after going through it several times or you skip to input directly into the forms which are hard to drill down from in some cases. Separately, the supporting worksheets that lead from one schedule to another (Sch B to 1040 as an example) need totals showing the sum of the parts. For example, taxable interest is net of amortization, but made up of maybe 6 different 1099s. It isn't explicit in the worksheets how the results on the 1040 are derived. There should be a grid to input to Form 8949 instead of inputting by tabbing down a list of inputs one by one. There should be a way to list your 1099s in a rational order rather than when input. PLEASE fix the input defaults for US obligations v non-US obligations so that you can input the matching amortization to the right category instead of the system proportionally applying amortization across categories.

Although TurboTax certainly saves time over manual tax preparation, the constant "upsells" make the product feel "scammy." If Intuit can't make a profit from half the country's population purchasing the software, then charge a little more and avoid treating your user like they are purchasing a used car from a shady dealership.

FORM 1099 Q IS NOT A FRIENDLY AREA TO WORK WITH. THERE ARE ISSUES WITH LETTING THE TAX SOFTWARE . I COULD NOT FIND A WAY TO RECORD YEARLY COLLEGE EXPENCES SO THEY COULD BE DEDUCTED FROM THE MONEY REPORTED ON THE 1099 Q FORM. IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM OF PAYING TAXES ON WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAX FREE INCOME, I HAD TO COMPLETLY REMOVE THE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE 1099Q FORM. YOU NEED TO CLEAR THIS ISSUE UP. IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING.
