product was easy to use but i was surprised it did not ask for banking information . routing and account number until just before filing it really should have asked for this info as you finish up the federal tax forms like during the review. i went to the form itself and entered the info only to find out it could be done after completing the state taxes just before sending off the return

While it's more convenient than filling out taxes manually, it is still extremely frustrating to use. Some of the questions are phrased for accountants. There are also some simple autocheck features that it doesn't use, for example I received two W-2 forms (pieces of paper) because I worked in two states, but Turbotax did not recognize that they should be the same form with two state lines.

The software does its job well, no technical concerns. My only complaint, every year when I use Turbo-tax, I'm prompted several times to file and buy my state return. I live in Tennessee, we don't have a state tax. Your software knows that, so why does it prompt every year to pay for a state return? It makes your company look underhanded.

State tax calculation omitted the standard deduction and did not provide information to take the retirement income subtraction. these caused an error of more than $2000 and when I discovered the issue, I had to file an amended return. I have always relied on Turbo Tax for accuracy, but this year was unacceptable!

I started with online premium, but I was unable to view and print forms on my IMAC. Very frustrating. I then downloaded the desktop version, and all went well. However, I had to renter everything all ove again. The best thing was that it was a lot cheaper.

I have been using Intuit products to do my taxes since before it was even called "TurboTax." Up until this year I have been totally satisfied and did highly recommend the product to my friends. This year was an unfortunate exception. Even with the "Deluxe" version, I encountered situations where the software nagged me to upgrade to a "Premium" version. My tax situation is less complicated than it used to be, so I don't know why I should need "more" product.

Had a problem with the Importing Process from Morgan Stanley E-Trade Accounts. Had to call Customer service. Also when the review process was done it said that I had 36 errors. This was due to the importing of incomplete sale dates on certain Wash sales for stocks. never had that problem before in my 20 plus years of using Turbo Tax. Other than that it worked fine as usual.

You said I can import my last year data from H&R block but your software would not read the pdf even though I could open it in my pdf viewer and it was fine. Very unhappy You remove the option to scan the last year pdf fix your product that you over charge for

I used TurboTax Desktop to file Married Filing Separately with a non-resident alien spouse who does not have an SSN or ITIN — a situation that is explicitly allowed by the IRS. This is a common situation for taxpayers with overseas spouses, and the software experience does not handle it well. The tax calculations themselves are fine, but the user experience and lack of upfront disclosure made this far more frustrating than necessary.

Interface is constantly trying to sell additional services I already declined and the default button is to buy what I already said I don't want to buy. The font is too small, I had to change my settings to read with my glasses on. The 3rd party payment page would not fully display all the fields with the display settings on large, I had to change my display settings to see all the fields. 2025 TurboTax required a OIS that my MacBook could not upgrade to. The donations section no longer provides the estimated values of goods like prior years creating more work.
