Some Improvement Required

The interaction between forms was very awkward this year. Much worse than previous over 30 years I have used TurboTax. I spent several hours unnecessary hours on this. Why don't you prefill all forms when same field occurs elsewhere? Would save much time. I had mistyped one number and had to go through three forms before I found the error. This error also prevented Personal Rep on 1040 from filling and check box on another form from being checked.

Erroneous error checks

After competing all error checks and sending the returns, TurboTax announced that the State return had an error?!?!?!?!??! after error checks? After final review, after hitting the "send state tax return" No suggestion what to do how how to proceed...Not sure what my remove my state return so as to be invalid...I use software that should actually make this easy and bullet proof, again this year not the case. i have been a user for more than 10 years. Not my first rodeo.

Turbotax is great, but some annoyances remain.

I have been using Turbotax for at least a decade, but the one thing that annoys me every year is having to re-enter my ID information (drivers license) as well as my bank account information. Turbotax carries all sorts of other things forward, but I have to manually re-enter that every time. Especially with the bank account information it asks you if you want to use the same bank account from last year and when you say "yes" it basically just ignores that and asks you fill it out from scratch again anyway. And to add insult to injury, it asks you to enter it a second time... oh, and you want your state refund in the same account? Of course... just enter it a third time. Everything else, like your address, kids, etc. it will present you with what you entered last time and just ask you to verify it, but not that information. I've gotten used to it, but it's still very annoying.

Improvements are needed

I lost 2 hrs or work when the program froze up and quit. Unfortunately I assumed this would auto save, but there was no evidence of any file associated with this on my computer. I had to research how to save a file on this program. There should be a button on the form screen to SAVE the file. Also some of the questions under 1099-R were confusing, regarding Arkansas Teacher Retirement. You need to add Arkansas Teacher Retirement to the list of financial institutions so the information can be pulled and reduce some of those confusing questions.

Turbo Tax needs some work

I didn't like it compared to past years, I forget why I have to buy Premier so i don't get charged so much at the end of filing my taxes. I had a few issues Turbo Tax, Like I needed to open my 2024 taxes & it had to update & then wouldn't let me in without the activation Key!! I don't keep the activation key for Taxes I already completed Last year, but I guess I learned my Lesson. Also why would I go on line to do turbo tax after I purchased the software? I kept getting pushed in the beginning to go with online version. maybe if it was free to file my taxes. it was difficult to add donations, last year and years before, I logged into intuit & filled out a form, this year I just didn't add anything due to time and difficulty with your system, kind of stressful & confusing through out.

Great program, but issue with 1099 importing.

The first page you see when you go to enter 1099-INT or DIV info, by importing the forms, is a new format that I haven't seen in the past. In trying to use that new page, I found myself trying to import some forms, and then that same new-format page would appear again, unchanged, as if I hadn't done anything yet. I called for live TurboTax help, and they figured out that Fidelity, the company whose forms I was trying to import, had not yet posted those forms. But it took a bit of digging to figure that out -- seems like there should have been some clear up-front message to that effect when I tried to do the import.

Problems solved but frustrating

After not using TurboTax for one month and doing a preliminary tax return I was unable to open the TurboTax app. I had to call for assistance which took well over an hour to remedy. We were however able to get it to work finally. As I remember I had a similar issue on a different computer a few years ago. Frustrating, hoping it doesn't fail again since I do have a few other tax returns to complete

2025 Software Not as Good as Previous Years

This year was worse than previous years. Several links for explanations were blank. Wording wasn't clear in some cases. Some kind of glitch with MA Form M-2210 for underpayment penalty. It was included in the forms view, but wasn't included in the step-by-step view and not included in the final "all forms required for filing" when it was required. Finally found a way to add it by clicking one of the explanation boxes at the top of the form which I hope was the correct explanation. For these reasons, this 2025 year's software was unfortunately disappointing. Still good overall and I used it obviously. Thank you for your hard work on this, but I hope it will be back to better standards like in previous years.

Only one small issue

It was very confusing when I payed for and downloaded the desktop version, but a large box appears that says continue to online. With a small text that says stay on desktop. I did my whole return without realizing this and when it would not file; that's when it became clear. Please fix that. If someone purchases the desk top let them continue on the desktop version.

Need to inform user expecting a refund and wanting direct deposit into their bank account that you have that option during the last e-filing stage for both federal and state refunds. I spent alot of time trying to figure out if the state refund to be direct deposit or not prior to the e-filing step.
